Consanguineous Couples Having Children
One of the main arguments people rely on in attacking consanguineous couples is the idea that these relationships will result in disabled children. Aside from the fact that it completely ignores same-sex couples and couples who aren’t able or choose not to have biological children, I have a big issue with this argument.
People seem to act as if a couple choosing to have children knowing they have a greater chance of passing on genetic defects is the same as knowingly harming an existing child. As if consanguineous couples reproducing is the same as a mother drinking during pregnancy or neglecting or abusing a child.
In this case, these children (whether they are born with disabilities or not) would never have been born otherwise. To me, this argument sounds like saying that disabled children would be better off not being born in the first place.
Also, it is important to focus on the fact that most children born to consanguineous couples will be born perfectly healthy. Those children who are born with genetic defects, will not all have painful and terminal disease such as Tay-Sachs. The majority of defects will be simple and have little impact on quality of life, and can even be treatable, such as polydactyly or cleft lip or palate. In almost every case, it is wrong to say that it is better a child never be born at all, than be born with a disability. Thus, the concern about genetic defects is not a valid reason to prevent consanguineous couples from marrying and having children.
My son and I had our first child this year and it was a perfect baby girl. Myth debunked. We’re working on our next child and can’t wait.

My son and I are just starting out on this journey of living our incest lifestyle openly! We’re excited to see where it leads and what connections and adventures we have together along the way!!
