Banzaisona Week Day 3: Day to Day!
kinda hard to finish repairs with two troublemakers pestering youā¦Ā
this is talos, a mundie engineer and inventor! incredibly skilled at their job, they spend most of their time tinkering on one project or another. sometimes theyāll even take a job building robots for other people. on their own time though, they work on perfecting their own inventions, like their chickbots! at this point, they practically qualify as pets rather than objects, and talos certainly treats them as such!
[DATA LOG 3]
This time, Raychel is already at her seat. Sheās eating some kind of granola bar, with a cup of warm cocoa in her hands. She seems pretty relaxed.
āā¦Data Log 3ā¦ā ā¦She yawns. āā¦Mn. Apologies. Itās very early in the morning. Today is August 3rd, 2020ā¦this is a continuation of a series of video logs. Thought Iād knock this off my to-do list while I have a day off. Letās seeā¦ā
[QUESTION 3: DAY TO DAY. Whatās your life like? Got a cool place to stay? Nice job? Nice neighborhood? Got any hobbies?]
āCurrentlyā¦? I suppose my life is ratherā¦busy now, since I technically work two jobs. Both of which deal with a various number of Inscribed, soā¦thereās always SOMETHING happening.ā A LOOONG sigh. āā¦whether I like it or not. I do hope Iām left ALONE today, really, I need thisā¦ā
She pauses, and looks back towards the pitch black room for a moment, before turning back to the camera.
āWhile I canāt show you where I live, I can say that itās comfortable. One could even say modern, as Iāve made it a point to keep up to date with technology in general. I have a home system, which everything is connected to. Makes things easier on my end when Iām justā¦spent from the day.ā
She takes a sip.
āMn. As for our jobā¦ā ā¦Ray looks to one side. Thereās something rather distant in them, and for a moment, you can see her icy blue hue dull in color⦠āā¦I used to like it, really. Thought I was making a difference and all that. Thought I was helping peopleāand donāt get me wrong, I still WANT to, justā¦when Father, theyā¦ā
They blink. And breathe in.
āMnā¦no, thatās not relevant to the questionā¦I suppose Iāll just say that being a police officer is a lot of work, especially when youāre in a position like mine. I have access to everythingāevery file on the police database, every street camera in the city, every unit we have. Every criminal ever caught, or still at large. Everyā¦flaw. Everything thatās wrong, right there in front of me, andāā
Ray cuts herself off, and glances back at the camera.
āā¦Thatāthat isnāt relevant either. Iāllā¦Iāll just move onto the next questionā¦I donāt really talk to my neighbors. Never have, so I canāt say anything about them. Not exciting, I knowā¦next one then. Ah!ā
At last, her mood seems to brighten when she gets to the last question.
āI have several hobbiesāI do enjoying coding in my spare time, itās quite aā¦special interest to me, you could say. I also like to do puzzlesā¦any kind, really, anything that gives our mind a workout. HmāI used to do tennis when I was younger, though I havenāt gone back to that in a whileā¦I should do that when I have time. Maybe Iāll bring Mailu along. Hopefully thatāll burn some of their energyā¦ā
She hums, leans back into her chair, and takes nice, long sip.
āā¦Goodness, that got rather long. Right, thatās enough for todayā¦end log.ā
[END OF DATA LOG 3]
(( @banzaisona ))
Day 3: Day to Day - Whatās your life like? Got a cool place to stay? Nice job? Nice neighborhood? Got any hobbies?
āItās pretty nice, if not a little boring for some people. I do painting on the side- but I usually just teach a few classes at the community college occasionally- basically a substitute, usually art- and then I do some art restoration jobs when I get them. Iām glad my work pays well.ā
āUsually I start the day off getting a coffee- maybe snag some breakfast at the Daily Delight- then head off to work. The neighborhood is pretty quiet- but friendly, as long as there arenāt too many tourists.ā
āThis place is basically a tourism trap- a ton of fun places, as long as youāre ready for a bit of noise every now and then. Itās a nice place- a coastal town.ā
āBut yeah- as for the last one, yep. I like gardening- though I also learned to play the guitar. Iām a decent singer, I think. Though usually I invite some friends over to my place- and we just relax. Sometimes I plant vegetables and make salads. Itās pretty nice.ā
Banzaisona Week Day 2- Epithet
Lets go!! >:3
As stated in their introduction, Almonds epithet is Deal which allows Almond to summon cards that deal out a variety of powers and allows them to negotiate any sort of deal.Ā
In detail, the cards they summon have different effects depending on theirĀ suit and its power relies on the number/face off the card.Ā
[ Heart: Heal -Ā Spade: Hurt -Ā Diamond: Create -Ā Clubs: Destroy ]
AlmondsĀ āsecretā ability is that they can persuade any person into making a deal with them, and that person must abide to the rules of said deal for up to an hour.
Banzaisona Week: Day Two
ERROR: AUDIO FILE NOT FOUND. LOADING TRANSCRIPTā¦
āOkayā¦Sweet! Got it up and running again.ā Xander began. His voice sounded fairly chipper, like he was excited to record again.
āI think Iāll answer a few of the bonus prompts with this one today! I meant to yesterday but uhā¦got a little distracted.ā He let out a sheepish laugh.Ā āA-anyways! Letās see hereā¦āĀ
āā¦Oh. Oh.ā His tone quickly changes, upset by the prompt heās reading.Ā āMyā¦my epithet. Right. Well, for starters, yes, I am in fact inscribed. My epithet, specifically, is crepuscular. Crepuscular means of or relating to twilight, or animals that are active during the twilight. Because of that I uhmā¦have powers related to both light and dark? S-since, yāknow, twilightās like a combo of both? Uhābut, I also have powers of animals that are also crepuscular! Likeālike foxes, and fireflies!ā Xander stops for a moment, sighing.
āIf Iām being perfectly honest, as cool as my powers areā¦I donāt likeĀ āem. In the slightest, actually. In fact, Iād much rather be a mundie.ā The audio falls silent. After a few minutes, Xander coughs, breaking the silence.
āUh! Anyways, mini-prompt! Humā¦.āWho are you working for/with?ā Well! I am proudly an independent villain! Sometimes, if Giovanni and I run into each other during a mission, weāll help each other out. A-and,ā his voice falters for a moment,Ā āif Iām strapped for cash, Iāll take a job from an interested party.āĀ
āOkay! So! I think that does it for me today. So if I remember correctlyā¦I just click this here toāāĀ The audio cuts off, once again fading into static.
Banzaisona Week Day 2: Epithet!
now for someone completely different! felix, a known gremlin and public menace, has the epithet effervescent! which, ironically, has nothing to do with snails. due to their newly discovered inscribed status, his proficiency is rather low. but that wonāt stop him from using it every second of every day. good to build up stamina early, i guess.
his epithet allows him to create a multitude of bubbles, useful for anything from a distraction to an emergency speed boost! and also for leaving disproportionately large messes. but hey, heās having fun!
THE MORON IS BACK
Do you have an epithet? What is it? What can you do?
āI...do not have an epithet. But that doesnāt make me any less than those who do! I just have to work harder than everyone else! I can do whatever anyone with an epithet can do, I just have to be creative! I want to prove to people that mundies are just as strong and capable as those who are inscribed.ā
āIt does suck a little bit, when everyone else has such cool powers, but I try not to let that get me down! Iām cool just the way I am!ā
Banzaisona Week: Day 2
My epithet is Holler! If I shout the name of something, it improves, porportionate to how loud I am. It's pretty fun, but I have to be careful with how often I use it, or else I might strain my voice. Usually I just use my epithet as an excuse to shout all the time!
i should probably stop shouting all the time
Banzaisona Week: Day 1
Heya! Blueca here, aka FORTE!! Banzai Blaster, music lover, and great at crime. Though, I'm not great at the stealth stuff, I'm pretty loud and a sucker for theatrics.
[DATA LOG 2]
The next video looks to be in the same place as before, though this time Raychel herself doesnāt appear on screen until a few seconds in. She sits down with a soft thump, fixes her hair, and once again clears her throat.
āData Log 2. Today is August 2nd, 2020. This is the second of a series of video logsāIām going to assume youāre watching these in the proper orderāif not, please refer to Data Log 1. Onto the next series of questions, thenā¦ā
[QUESTION 2: EPITHET. Do you have an Epithet? What is it? What can you do? What do you think about it? Think itās cool? Think it sucks?]
āYes, I am Inscribedā¦on official files, I am Class 2, butā¦well, Iām afraid that is an outright lie. Iāve been Nova Class since I was 29. A bit of advice for anyone out thereā¦never let anyone know all that what youāre truly capable of. Though I suppose the purpose of these video logs rather betrays that pointā¦ā
āMy Epithet is Zero. It allows me to manipulate dataāany kind of data, as long as I can calculate it. Youāre probably wondering how āZeroā would possibly allow me to do such a thing when, typically, Zero means nothing to most people.ā
Raychel reaches into her jacket and pulls outā¦a stress ball. She squeezes it, once, before it starts to glow a bright redāand floats right out of her hand, suspended in mid-air by some unseen force.
āBut I, however, interpret it differently. Zero is both a beginning and an end, and what lies beyond it. It is the other half of binary, of which all computer programs and digital systems rely on to function. Zero represents the absence, or lack of somethingā¦and just because something is not THERE does not mean it is harmless.ā
She flicks her finger, and the stress ball follows it perfectly.
āTake gravity, for instance. No gravityāor the sudden shift of it can vastly affect the forceāor lack thereofāany object. Another example would be temperatureā¦ā
As she speaks, the stress ball suddenly starts to frost over. Colder, and colder, until it looked like a small snowball.
āā¦I suppose in this case, yes, My Epithet isā¦cool. I find it easier to reduce temperature rather than raise it. Iāve found many, many uses for my Epithet over my entire lifetimeā¦thereās a reason why my Proficiency is maxed out. It wouldnāt BE so if I thought my Epithet couldnāt do much. Itās only logical.ā
The stress snowball returns to her hand, and icy frost around it slowly melts as she turns off her Epithet.
āOf course, I can do more than just turn off gravity or make things coldā¦but thatāll be something for another time, I think. Thatās all for nowāI have a rather busy day ahead of me. End log.ā
[END OF DATA LOG 2]
(( @banzaisonaā ))
Day 2: Epithet - Do you have an epithet? What is it? What can you do? What do you think about it? Think itās cool? Think it sucks?
āIām not super comfortable sharing what it is, but yeah- I like it. It gives me a bit of a green thumb, aha! Aināt that neat?ā
āā¦.ā
āI really like weeds, okayā¦?ā
Banzaisona Week Day 1- Introduce yourself!
Lets get started >:3c!
Name: Almond Lecteur
Banzai name: Ace/Dealer
Epithet: Deal- Deal allows the user to summon cards that deal out a variety of powers. It also allows the user to negotiate deals.
Stats:
Stamina- 1
Proficiency- 5
Creativity- 3
Almond is a kindhearted teen with a bad anxiety problem. They work at the Lecteur Reads Bookshop. But secretly- they are also a Banzai Blaster!! Well- Kind of.
Almond works independently from the Banzai Company but they do work for Giovanni! Whenever he strikes a good deal, that is.
Giovanni is an old friend of Almonds and ever since Giovanni became apart of the Banzai Blasters, he's been begging Almond to join.
Almond is smart enough to not be apart of a pyramid scheme but still dumb enough to help Giovanni out.
š«MEET THE MORONš«
Introductions! Tell us a bit about yourself.
āOkay! Myself. Stuff about myself... oh! Okay, well, the nameās Astrid and according to my neighbour āthat darn raccoon.ā Iām an aspiring Banzai Blaster. I canāt afford the membership, but I mean, if I bother ask them enough, then theyāll have to let me join! I wonāt give up until Iām one of them. I even made my own Banzai Blaster pin! Itās super cool!!!
Do you have any cool nicknames?
āDo I? Iāll have you know that Iām a nickname aficionado. My name is cool enough as is, but I go by many aliases. Namely (š), Asteroid, Blastrid, Blasteroid, Asterix, and The Trixter. Pretty cool, right? I came up with all of them myself!!ā
Banzaisona Week Day 1: Introductions!
oh babey we groovinā! introducing: Blackout, known banzai blaster and local cryptid! no oneās really sure which captain theyāre under, but hey, theyāre always around, so whoās complaining?
with their epithet, shade, getaways become a thing of ease under the cover of darkness! their inability to be pinned down is drawn back only by their complete lack of offensive power and general conflict-avoidance. theyāre here to make friends and eat baked goods, and theyāre all out of baked goods.
[DATA LOG 1]
Static.
Thereās a flickering of images, of red-coded binary, of a familiar, heart shaped symbol, and then for the briefest of nanoseconds, a searing red dot that eerily looks back. Watching.
But then the static returns just as fast. The video takes a few seconds to focus, but when it does, it seems to be from the perspective of a small camera mounted on rather elaborate desktop set-up, with multiple computer monitors on either side showing various files and live camera feeds. And sitting in front of it all?
A woman of Deepwood descent, typing away on a keyboard with machine-like speed and precision. She brushes away a lock of snow-white hair as she glances at the camera. The room behind her is pitch dark, making it impossible to tell where she was recording this from.
āAlrightā¦ā
She clears her throat, moving her hands away from the keys to fold in front of her chest.
āData Log 1. Today is August 1st, 2020. I am compiling a series of video logs in accordance with several contingency protocols, in the event or events that would otherwise lead to my termination or disappearance. Better safe than sorry, as my father always said. That being said, if you are watching this without authorizationā¦well, I must congratulate you on getting past my firewalls and encryption. Unfortunately, unless you accounted for it, my system is set up to erase all data on this computer the moment its security is compromised. Iām afraid itās too late to save anything nowā¦ā
Thereās a small pause.
āā¦however, if you are still watchingā¦then I suppose I should let you know that these videos contain rather sensitive and confidential information regarding myself andā¦other matters of which I have not disclosed to many people. For obvious reasons, as you will soon find out.ā
Another pause.
āā¦For what itās worth, I apologize in advance. It was necessary. ALL of it was necessary. Againāyouāll soon learn why.ā
She closes her eyes, and takes in a deep breath.
āā¦Now then. Weāll start with the basics. I have a pre-written list of simple questions, but for now, Iāll only answer this one and save the rest for other logsā¦ā
[QUESTION 1: Tell us a little bit about yourself! Got a cool nickname?]
āMy name is Raychel Athena Blackwell. I am 34 years old, 6ā²2, and Deepwood/Seaside Race. I am currently a Police Officer of the Sweet Jazz City Police DepartmentāI work in Tech and Data Analysis. As for nicknamesā¦mn. I can think of a few from some of the people I work with. Numbers comes to mind, as well asā¦ā
Sigh.
āā¦VARIOUS others of a ridiculous nature from a certain juvenile delinquent. I wonāt go into them, otherwise this log will be longer than it has to be.ā
Raychel hums, leaning back into her chair, looking at another monitor as they do so. āā¦There isnāt much I can say about myself. I live alone, and I am not exactly a very sociable person. You could say Iām just a ratherā¦private individual overall. Itās something I value, I suppose. Which isā¦a little ironic, consideringā¦ā
ā¦They trail off.
āā¦Mn. Never mind that. Iāll go into more detail later. I think this is enough for now. End log.ā
[END OF DATA LOG 1]
((Typing sound effect:Ā Here!))
(( @banzaisonaā ))
Vega Highhedge
An accountant of Sweet Jazz City. Sick and tired of seeing people having to make ends meet and being screwed over by unfair banking procedures, Vega turned to the Banzai Blasters as a way to organize bank robberies to steal from rich accounts and leave them at the door step of people affected by the ineffective systems. This tends not to work because people don't immediately accept mysterious money packages without having the police investigate first.
Favorite Movie: The Dark Knight Rises
Thought Bane had a point and should've been the hero
Yes, he did spend a lot of money for a replica coat to wear over his Banzai uniform.
His superiors call him the Wolf of Wall Street.
He hates this nickname.
