You will get interactions on posts from my main blog @snlangford
I, Summer, am an adult. I’ve been in the fandom since 2014 when I was 15 years old at the time. I will write mature content, especially since DL is an 18+ game (technically 20+ in Japan).
Mature content that contains sexual material on this blog is not for actual desire, but to tell a story. It also is to correlate with canon with how the characters act in Diabolik Lovers (r*pe, ab*se, and other severely sensitive content is prominent in the game). Yui, the protagonist, is a minor in the games and experiences these issues, so does my OC Bara, who’s also a minor for the beginnings of her story. So please be wary that my writing on here will also contain sensitive material as such.
If you are a minor, I do not want you interacting with my nsfw content here, even if it’s only for story purposes and not for naughty reading. You can enjoy everything else, just not the sexual content that appears here. Please be respectful and understand boundaries or I will have to change permissions of this blog.
To filter sensitive content, I have my writing tagged. If you don’t want to see the current things (tags i mostly use), add them to your tag blacklist:
nsfw, yandere, abuse, harm, non con

Contains: Bara studying plants and talking to another brother
-
The stars were starting to appear in the sky as orange turned to purple. Clouds were few and in between, but enough to break the twinkling skies that formed. Bara used what dying light she had left to examine the plants in the gardens. With one of her plant books in hand, she read on notes for the rose she was currently looking at and felt a petal with her forefinger and thumb.
“The properties of roses are… healthier skin when topically used. When consumed… anxiety reducer, reduces menstrual cramps, reduces hot flashes for menopause, and…” she’d trail off as it seemed to get harder to read, a shadow moving to cover the dying sunlight she was using.
Why can’t I see it properly? Did the house’s shadow take over?
Bara would go to turn her head, seeing one of the taller brothers. Their front was darkened; the only hint of who it was was from the slight glare on their lenses.
Carefully, Bara would stand up and turn around to greet Reiji with a bow. “Evening, Reiji.”
The elder brother would give a curt nod before responding. “Miss Shikki.” He’d look around, seeing nothing different about the gardens. A glance at the girl showed no signs of hiding anything, and the book she had opened had been closed when she had greeted him.
“May I ask what you’re doing out here?”
“Ah, I was looking at the plants your family has out here and seeing their medical properties…” Bara would look at her hands and bring the book up with a small smile. “I love medicine and science, and this is a fun way to learn more.”
Reiji’s hand moved out expectantly, and Bara handed him the book willingly. She made sure not to stare, as it was rude. Yet Bara waited patiently by Reiji’s side as he scoured her herbal book.
“Interesting to find a girl interested in such things…” Reiji muttered and glanced at Bara. She didn’t know their age, but Reiji knew her to be so young compared to the centuries he and his brothers had on her. “Why do you care about the subject, Miss Shikki?”
It took Bara a moment to gather her thoughts before she answered back. “I was raised to know the earth loves us back if we treat it well. And I found that even more can be found for healing and care through combining natural and chemical together.”
There was a quiver of a smile on Reiji’s lips, but he kept it hidden away. He looked over the page he remembered seeing her on and looked at the image of the rose depicted and the one in front of them.
“A typical Rosa Mister Lincoln, I see no other roses listed in this book.”
“Sadly, I haven’t found one yet with all the roses. I’d love to learn the properties of the Japanese Kierra…”
A yellow rose native to Japan and China. Reiji knew it well. Rarely did he see it, as it was mostly when they entered Kaminashi and other Japanese cities outside of school. Yet as he looked at the girl’s soft face and large doe-like eyes, it was easy to conclude something about the Kierra and her.
“Your name comes from that strain of rose, doesn’t it?” He meant it more as a statement that Bara didn’t need to reply to, yet his curiosity sparked from the girl’s slightly similar hobbies.
The brunette nodded her head, and her eyes dimmed as loving yet painful memories returned. “Yes, it’s… was… my parents’ favorite flower. They met each other under it. I know it was in their wedding photos as well.”
“It’s rich in vitamin C, can be made into a cough treatment, and is anti-inflammatory. It also helps with gynecology issues.”
She fought to suppress her embarrassment at the last one. For someone to talk so casually about uterine issues was taboo. No one in Japan spoke of it so freely unless in a private room with their doctor. Yet heat crept up her neck and into her cheeks.
“Ah… thank you for the information, Reiji.”
He offered the book back to her, and she took it with another bow in thanks.
Reiji took note of each trait he had observed from the human.
Reserved. Polite. Didn’t speak out of turn. Observant. Studious. And now… a brainiac.
While it didn’t show on his face, an internal side of him smirked at the idea of taking the human for his own. He knew his bratty little brother was trying to make a claim, but it was easy to protect something of his own from the screamer. Even the weird enchanted necklace wasn’t enough of a marker.
And anyway, he was tired of the triplets always taking the brides away. Rare was it to find one with traits he actually liked…
“Miss Shikki,” Reiji began to grab her attention. Once the girl’s eyes were focused on him, he continued. “I have quite a collection of my own for scientific studies. Are you interested?”
Her eyes lit up at this. Bara’s lips parted slightly, a common habit when curiosity and excitement both took over her. “I would love to see your collection of books, Reiji.”
“Tomorrow, after school. I expect you no later than fifteen minutes after the hour.” It was curt and held no warmth.
Her expression hardened a bit at the tone and nodded in response. “Of course, Reiji. I won’t be late.”
He walked off, leaving the girl in the gardens all alone. Bara turned to look at other plants and looked through her book once again to see what all was there. But as she tried to continue on with her pastime, the thought of Kanato slipped into her mind.
What would happen if she went to join Reiji tomorrow? Would Kanato get angry at her?
Her hand slipped to her throat and brushed against the still tender spots. It was within the week that Kanato strangled her to the point of blacking out. If that was punishment from when Laito advanced on her… what would it mean if she willingly went to another brother simply to see his books?
Her face felt colder as she glanced to the mansion and at a lit window. Bara had no idea what room it was due to how large the building was.
Contains: Bara has her first day at school and spends lunch with Kanato
---
Finally, Bara got to attend school once again. Being able to be in a classroom and learn something new… It was something she always enjoyed, even if some subjects bore her.
And even better, she didn’t have to worry about Kanato due to him being a year above her. From what she could see while walking through the first-year hallway, it was only Subaru who was in the same year as her. If he was in her class, she didn’t know yet.
Bara took a glance at the sheet she was given upon arrival, noting her class number and taking action of getting there. She passed by other students, seeing how most seemed like her: human. They just chose a school for nighttime, which was reasonable with what she knew of some friends back home. Some people were more productive at night instead of during the day. And even from her own studies, she knew it was a fifty-fifty balance in humans to either function better during the day or night due to their primitive era habits.
When the class had begun, Bara introduced herself as any new transfer would before taking her seat. It felt just like it did back in her hometown. Bara would be focused, taking notes and following along with the lesson from the teacher. She spoke when called on. Bara even heard the whispers from unruly students like she used to. Comfort was back with her. This type of environment is what she loved.
After the first few courses, it was time for lunch. Midnight, right on the dot. With help from classmates, she found herself going toward the cafeteria. The food there was premade and ready to get, most likely from a class with a free hour. It was simple and made Bara happy to find a rhythm once again.
She bowed in her giving of thanks to the person behind the counter and took the small disposable bento in her hands. As Bara turned to leave and find somewhere to eat, the sight of purple hair made her freeze in her tracks.
“Kanato,” she blurted it and quickly followed with a question, “are you here to buy lunch?”
Kanato glanced from Bara’s face down to the small paper box in her hands. Just seeing how she even handled an item was delicate. The perfect hands to pour tea, to wear dainty gloves, to be caressed against his cold skin. Every little thing he observed about her made him enjoy Bara even more.
“No, I don’t like the food here. I prefer having sweets,” Kanato spoke before reaching out and grabbing one of Bara’s wrists to pull her along.
She stumbled for a minute and quickly readjusted her grip on her bento, her feet also stumbled over each other as she hurried to keep up with the pull Kanato had on her. At least this time he wasn’t holding her tightly enough to bruise her. It was only firm enough to keep her school jacket in place against her skin.
They journeyed through the hallways for a while before Kanato led the two of them outside into a small garden. It was chilly enough that other students had chosen to not be out in it, making it just Kanato and Bara out in the small flower bed. Kanato led the girl to a bench and made her sit down with him.
“You’re to be with me during any free hour here at school, got it?” Kanato spoke.
Bara registered what he said before nodding her head hesitantly. She really wasn’t getting a choice in anything here, but what was she to do? “Okay… Do I come to you before or after I get my food?”
Kanato took the moment to eye the bento again. A small smile crept up onto his face as an idea came into his head. “Both of us will get lunch together, got it? I’ll be waiting by your door at the beginning of every lunch period.”
It didn’t seem sinister to Bara, but she was still hesitant to accept the offer from Kanato. Plus, it felt like he was trying to leash her.
“That can work,” Bara said while opening the box. “I don’t see you have one, so we can share mine for now if you wish.”
Kanato held back a giggle from his amusement. Sure, he could eat human food, but his proper meal would be her. Fresh, sweet, and delectable. Having it on the daily at school was something he’d enjoy.
“I’m fine for the moment,” Kanato replied.
Bara gave a small curious glance at him before she went to take the sealed bowl of mushroom soup out. Besides the soup, there was a bed of rice with marinated chicken on top in another sealed container, a small array of vegetable tempura in another, and then a cup of fruit as well. It was small portions of all of it, considering the box’s width still didn’t span the size of her thighs put together but balanced all the same. She would pop off the plastic lid on the styrofoam cup and begin to sip on the broth, sometimes pausing to eat out the solids with the disposable chopsticks she had.
The time went by reasonably, but the silence only made Bara more conscious of how loud she ate. A slight pink hue would dust her face in embarrassment when a loud noise came from her, usually from a crunch of the tempura or a slurp of the soup. Sometimes she would glance at Kanato, but he seemed to just be daydreaming as she finished up her lunch.
It was when Bara began sorting trash from recyclables that Kanato looked back at her. He’d eye her carefully as she went to sort the items accordingly into each bin. How her simple movements seemed delicate, fingers moving deft and quickly, and the slight sway of her hair in its ponytail pulled him more into admiring the doll-like appearance she held.
“What a doll…” he thought. “And all mine too.”
While Kanato didn’t have a proper claim on the girl, yet, he would do everything to keep his brothers from swaying the girl away. He’d eye over at the door, seeing Shu pass by for a moment, most likely avoiding the teachers again for lecturing him on sleeping in the halls. The blonde glanced out and saw Kanato, but paid him no mind after a glance. Kanato’s gaze would then wander back to Bara, seeing her return over to him.
A small smile would creep onto his lips. “I’d like to eat now, doll.”
Bara would look at him with her brows upturned and eyes altering in shape from the muscles moving. “But… There’s no food. You didn’t want any of my lunch.”
All he’d do was giggle, enjoying how foolish she acted. Bara seemed to be book smart, but she wasn’t the best socially it seemed to the vampire. His laughter and smile would drop, face entering into Bara’s bubble.
Hey! Sorry I didn’t know that the Oc blog and regular Bride blogs were separate. But would Bara take her children away from Kanato if she was physically strong enough?
If physically strong enough, yes! Bara is a person who would want the best for her kids as it's what her parents wanted for her and did for her until they passed. She'd want them in a safe, loving, and caring environment, even if it means she's the only one raising them.
But in the case of when she does become a vampire herself and she did still have a strong will along with the theorized strength, Kanato would find her and the boys. Considering her scent is memorized by him, along with Hayato and Arihitio's, he'd find them pretty quick. Most likely a fight between the parents would happen and it would leave Bara in a state of where she'd be mentally, and temporarily physically, broken with Kanato having full control over her.
Is there anything Kanato has done that makes Bara swoon? Maybe not even something overly romantic, but what gives her those butterflies?
Bara: "Well, uh... It may seem silly, but when he gives light kisses on my hands, nose, cheek, or forehead. It's a simple dotting-like kiss, but it gets me every time."
Now Bara was hesitant. She didn’t know how to work around Kanato and not upset him. He was a loose cannon, she learned that with how he reacted to Laito advancing on her despite resiting the perverted vampire.
She gently touched her neck, flinching slightly when contact hit. It was still tender despite happening a few days ago. Bara had opted for a sweater the last few days because of it, wanting to hide the damage Kanato had caused. None who noticed it seemed to care, though.
Now, in the kitchen, Bara readjusted the collar of the sweater as she made herself a snack. Reiji was also in there, making preparations for dinner. At first, he thought she’d offer help as she had before to him. Even if Reiji rejected her help, it was out of character for the human not to offer her assistance.
Once his eyes caught sight of the bruises during the collar’s fixing, he understood. Reiji could tell which of his brothers did it too. The only one that was careless with injuries that bad was the smallest of the triplets. Not to mention that Bara reeked of Kanato’s scent. If this was how he was treating the new bride, there would be serious problems if she was dead within the next few days.
“Bara,” Reiji spoke. When the girl acknowledged him, he continued on. “Cut up these vegetables, please. I just remembered something important I need to attend to.”
This was the first Reiji had asked for her to help, but Bara wouldn’t complain. She put her own food to the side and waited for Reiji to leave before going to her new assignment of cutting vegetables. Bara made sure to mimic the sizes Reiji had already cut, not wanting to mess up whatever meal he was preparing.
Reiji made his way to Kanato quickly, finding him playing with Teddy in his room. It was to be fast and straight to the point. Reiji didn’t want this to last longer than usual.
“Kanato, what did I say about harming the new bride?” Reiji asked.
Kanato stopped his fun and glared at Reiji in annoyance. “She isn’t dead. Don’t worry.”
The elder narrowed his eyes. “Yet that bruise I saw on her neck is something that can kill a human, especially one of her stature. If she’s chosen to be with you, then you need to treat her with more care.”
The sound of one of the teacups on the small table shattered, a few pieces thrown in Reiji’s direction. Kanato turned his head fully to look at Reiji. “You do NOT tell me what to do with my things! As long as she is loyal to me, she won’t be dead.”
Reiji only fixed his glasses and sighed. “Your selfishness knows no bounds… You better pick up that porcelain too. I’m not dealing with another mess made by you.” He then left after that, not wanting to continue a pointless argument.
Upon arrival back to the kitchen, Reiji looked to see the results of the task he gave Bara. The girl did the task dutifully, having mimicked the sizes he had done before she had taken over. It was sad really, for someone of her skill now under the thumb of one of the triplets. Any bride that came in that had some interest to Reiji always ended up a victim of another before he could get to them. And anyway, he didn’t like seeing such disgusting marks on the brides he had, especially scars from his brothers’ fangs.
“I can take care of the rest. You go back to what you were doing,” Reiji said as he approached his previous spot in the kitchen.
Bara complied and stopped her work. She returned to the food she had prepared, adding finishing slices and then cutting the sandwich into little tea slices. It was for easier eating while she read. One hand could hold a sandwich and the other could keep the book open. She took the plate it was on and set it to the side before cleaning up the mess she made and then retrieving it as she left the kitchen.
She returned to the game room where she was currently occupying. One brother had entered the room, it being the youngest. Subaru only gave her a glance before going to grab the darts from the dartboard. Soon a repetitive thudding noise filled the room as Bara settled in her spot on the lounge couch. She also kept quiet, only making noise when flipping a page. This type of setting was fine for her: she minded her own business and the vampire minded his.
Subaru kept at his own entertainment, nearly hitting the bullseye a few times but not ever on it. It made him frustrated, but it was of his own lack of practice. He took a small break for a moment and glanced at Bara. She showed no interest, which he was glad of. Subaru’s gaze then went towards the entrance to the room, spotting purple specks of hair. Kanato was peering in and being his obsessive self as usual.
A sigh came from Subaru before he addressed his older brother. “Are you going to keep hiding over there or come in? It’s annoying when you do that, Kanato.”
Kanato slowly stepped into the room, Teddy in his arms, along with another item that was still covered. He looked at Subaru with his own glare, not liking how the white-haired male would always lash out. “I want to see how my doll is and that you aren’t doing anything to her.”
Bara froze and looked up from her book, not expecting to hear Kanato’s voice. Her eyes didn’t leave Kanato’s figure. Was he going to lash out at her for being in the same room as Subaru? Even if he didn’t do anything to her? Even if she didn’t interact with him? She didn’t know. How was she to know what was safe to do with how unpredictable Kanato was?
“Ask her yourself, don’t drag me into your shit,” Subaru muttered before going back to the dartboard to retrieve the darts again. He didn’t want to be involved in whatever ridiculous shenanigans Kanato would be making.
Kanato looked from Subaru over to Bara, his eyes showing off an innocent and curious glow with how wide and bright they were. “How are you, Doll?”
Bara took a moment and swallowed before replying. “I’m fine… I’ve just been reading and enjoying a snack I made earlier.”
She made a snack, that’s how Reiji knew of the marks. Bara had been in the kitchen with him. It made Kanato’s chest tighten thinking about the ridicule from earlier and how Reiji had watched the girl. He marked her as his, that was enough to keep his brothers at bay, and Bara was being quite avoidant of them from what he had observed over the past few days.
“I have something for you. Teddy helped me pick it out too,” Kanato spoke as he approached Bara.
Bara put her bookmark inside of her book and set it to the side as Kanato drew near. Her eyes kept trained on him as he sat next to her, Teddy resting in his lap. A small box then appeared from behind Teddy in Kanato’s left hand. He turned slightly and waited for Bara to extend out her hands to take the box from him. She accepted it and carefully went to open it, frightened of what it could be. She hoped it wasn’t something scary.
Whatever it was, glittered as the light hit it, making Bara freeze for a moment before she opened it the rest of the way. Inside sat a thin silver chain with a small heart pendant on it. It was a pendant that would usually have a clasp on it to see a photo inside, but Bara noticed it seemed sealed shut. Either way, the necklace seemed normal. But this was something usually a partner would offer to their significant other.
“Kanato, I-” Bara didn’t know how to express her feelings. He had hurt her, yet was giving her an item to represent love. She didn’t even have feelings for him, so how was she supposed to react? She knew rejecting it wasn’t an option, but what was there to do in this situation? She had to accept it.
“Is something wrong?” Kanato’s light tone was gone and had become more serious, which sent Bara into a panic.
“No! Nothing’s wrong, I just… I didn’t expect something like this.” Bara glanced up into his eyes, nervous about how to respond. “Thank you. It is a nice gift.”
Kanato was glad she accepted it, but he wanted more out of this. He wasn’t just giving it to her to appreciate and have it collect dust.
“I want you to wear it every day,” Kanato commanded.
Bara looked at him in silence, shock going through her mind and body at his request. It wasn’t something she could choose to wear. Kanato was wanting her to wear it daily. How was she going to keep up with this? What would happen if she forgot to put it on?
“I’ll do my best to,” she replied quietly. “I don’t want to disappoint you.”
And she meant that. He was odd. You could never tell when he would be happy or angry. If he was smiling one minute, you’d have to debate if it was him being in bliss or thinking of something sinister to do. Bara had to get through whatever was being thrown at her.
“Put it on now,” Kanato spoke.
He kept his eyes trained on Bara, his face lowering to press against the back of Teddy’s head as he watched her slip the necklace out of the box and put it around her neck. It was long, reaching down to between her breasts. He chose the length for a reason. It could easily hide under anything the girl wore. And with the silver being a type from the demon world, it wouldn’t be a bother to skin at all, plus its durability would be able to last through almost anything that would stress delicate chains.
But overall, the contents inside were something he knew well. It was enough to know exactly where she was at any moment. As long as Bara had that necklace on, he would feel where she was at, who was around her, and even sense her heartbeat. He wasn’t going to lose his new doll.
That’s why this made the perfect gift to give her.
Warnings: blood, non-consensual touching, sexual assault, choking, yandere behavior, choke out
-----
The day after the initial bite left Bara sore all over her left side. She couldn’t sleep on it or bend her neck much in any direction without some sort of pain, whether it was cracking of still healing skin or cramping in the muscles from them being scrunched up.
No night school just yet, so Bara didn’t have to worry too much about covering it. It also meant she could enjoy a long hot bath to help ease the pain and rid herself of the stress.
She had just slipped out of the shower, ridding herself of any dirt and grime, before dipping into the hot bath. A sigh left her lips as her muscles relaxed even more and warmed up. The scent of the bath also cleared her sinuses, the smell of sage and peppermint. It was bliss to be able to get rid of the tension she was feeling.
All was silent for quite a while. The only sounds were a rare drip from the faucet and then the water sloshing when Bara moved within it. She was still for the most part but shifted as certain positions became uncomfortable after a little bit. Her eyes fluttered shut, savoring the peace and calm.
One thing she didn’t note was how the scabs that were submerged began to soften. Some blood leaked into the water, but way too small to make any real visual. But the scent… it was enough to attract the unwanted.
While she did take precautions by locking the door, Bara did not know of all abilities vampires truly had.
“You smell quite sweet, little bitch.” The sound of Laito’s voice was close to her ear.
A scream came from her immediately, not of fear, but of surprise and embarrassment. Bara lurched forward and did her best to use her wet hair to cover her torso and hands delving into the water to cover her lower regions.
With a red face, she turned it to look at Laito. Her embarrassed and flushed expression met his amused one.
“What are you doing here? Get out!” She tried to shrink away more, trying to hide from Laito’s prying eyes.
“Oh, but I don’t think so when your scent is just polluting the air so heavily~” Laito approached her in his usual predatory way, adding a sway with his light tone.
His arm reached out and snatched hold of Bara’s left upper arm. The girl was yanked forward towards the vampire as he leaned in to inhale her scent. It was appetizing and he hadn’t had the enjoyment of drinking from a pretty girl in quite a while. After all, it wasn’t allowed for him to go after the girls at school during his time as a “student” in Japan. They had to keep their cover in this new life.
Laito’s hand went to move the hair in the way of Bara’s neck, peeling wet strands off of her flesh. The girl was struggling in his grip, trying anything to get away from his hold. She wouldn’t go anywhere, not with how weak she was in comparison. And the fact that she was still trying to act modestly kept her trapped as well. She probably didn’t notice how it set her back, and Laito didn’t care.
His hand that had moved her hair went to grab the girl’s neck and pull her even closer. The sound of her last gasp as she lost her breath only made Laito more excited. He dipped down with lips only a few centimeters from her flesh. The marks from Kanato were there, peppered across Bara’s skin with quite a few hickeys from Kanato’s usual feeding habits. Oh well, he wasn’t first, but getting a bite was all he wanted at the moment. Laito opened his mouth and went down, teeth making a run over Bara’s flesh.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Kanato questioned from behind Laito.
The elder of the two paused and lifted his head up from the human. His green eyes locked with Kanato’s purple ones.
“Getting a feel and taste,” Laito spoke. The hand holding onto Bara’s throat released as it began to move down the girl’s torso. She flinched and let out cries for him to stop as she tried to get away from his touch. “It’s only natural, right Kanato?”
The smaller vampire only glowered at the auburn-haired one. His expression looked blank at a glance, but his lips were turned downward. The cheeks were puffed up slightly, flattening the bottom of Kanato’s eyes as said features bore into his brother. The bloodlust was heavy around him.
“Let. Her. Go.”
Laito released Bara upon command. He didn’t want to give up so easily, but he knew how to read when his siblings would turn murderous. The last thing Laito wanted was to be covered in his own blood over some simple tomfoolery. Once Latio had taken a few steps away from the bathtub, he teleported out to leave his brother to his own doing.
Bara immediately shrunk down into the tub and grabbed onto herself to steady the shakiness throughout her body. Laito was gone, she was safe. But why was she still so scared? Was this a reaction to how he was treating her? Was it how there was still a lingering feeling of his hand on her chest? Maybe… She had never experienced any form of assault before coming to this mansion.
A smaller hand came under her chin and grabbed it, pulling Bara out of her thoughts. Her gaze was turned to Kanato’s, whose expression had lost the anger but still appeared menacing. He wasn’t happy, Bara could tell that. But that should be at Laito, not her. She was safe now.
“What did you think you were doing?” Kanato yelled as he reached his hand forward and clasped it tightly around Bara’s neck. Her hands instinctively went to grab onto his wrist as she was cut off from oxygen. This was tighter than the hold Laito had on her.
Kanato yanked Bara forward and out of the water to have her closer to his face. His eyes peered into hers, anger now freely rolling off of him.
“I’ve made it clear you’re mine,” Kanato stated. “Don’t go messing around with my brothers.”
But she wasn’t reaching out for Laito, what was Kanato thinking? Bara was minding her own business and now found herself facing a consequence she did not cause. She tried to speak in order to reply to Kanato, but she found no way of doing so. The grip on her throat tightened more, causing any blood flow that was already slowed to now completely stop. The edges of her vision began to darken as her overall sight became a blur. Kanato wasn’t releasing his hold, it was like he was trying to choke her out.
The dark edges soon turned to spots cascading across her sight, overtaking it within minutes as her face also paled and turned a shade of violet. As her skin began to change to blue was when her vision go out completely. Now she was in the dark as unconsciousness crept its way to her.
The last bit of feeling she had was of no longer feeling herself in the water. She could barely feel lips ghosting on her skin as she blacked out completely. Now limp, Bara rested in Kanato’s arms. Her breathing began once again upon Kanato’s release, but she wouldn’t be awake for a while, not after a blood choke out.
Kanato stroked Bara’s wet hair out of her face, looking at her calm expression in his hold. He already knew she’d be his and no one else could have her.
Warnings: infliction of pain, dub con (biting and kissing)
-----
The first few days of settling in were… interesting.
Bara was able to set up her room with her belongings. She had to start adjusting to a night school schedule. But the most difficult part was dealing with the brothers.
Some were tolerable, like being in the same room as Shu, Subaru, or Reiji was calm. Bara kept to her business and didn’t bother them if they had to share a space. Most of her time was spent in a chair or on a sofa reading her own book when moments like this happened.
But if one of the triplets entered, it was a whole other story.
Ayato constantly pestered her with continuous flirting and obnoxious behavior. Thankfully for her, she had a lot of patience and was able to bore Ayato quite quickly by ignoring him and not returning reactions he wanted from her. Kanato was sometimes annoying, but Bara found herself abandoning her book usually to converse with him since he wasn’t as forward as his brothers. Although she did find she isn’t a fan of his clinginess if he did happen to hug or lean against her. Laito… he was hell. Bara found herself having to remove herself completely from him and usually having to find another brother to get him to go away.
Thankfully today, the only one in the room with her was Shu. Both of them were in their own respective areas, Shu on the sofa with his earbuds in and Bara in an armchair reading one of her newer books on herbal medicine. From what she noted from when around Shu, she did her best to not verbally make comments to herself when reading.
It wasn’t until noise came from someone walking in the room did Bara pull her eyes off the pages of her book. She spotted the smaller figure and gave a small smile.
“What are you doing?” Kanato asked her.
“I’m currently reading a book. Did you want to see which one?”
His expression panned a bit, showing his interest faded. “You’re always reading. It’s boring.”
Bara’s smile weakened slightly. “Well, it’s my main hobby. And my other hobby I enjoy I don’t think I’d be allowed to do here.”
Kanato rolled his eyes at Bara’s reply. “I’m bored. I want to do something fun.”
A bit of frustration came from Bara as she tried to tolerate Kanato’s pestering nature. It’s obvious he wanted her attention, but she didn’t know how to do it right.
Then an idea struck her.
“What about yours, Kanato? Is there something you like to do for fun that multiple people can do?” She asked.
“I like spending time with Teddy… Sometimes he and I have our own little tea parties.” Kanato looked at his bear affectionately. His eyes then wandered to Bara before speaking again. “Say, you could have a tea party with us right now.”
Bara did a quick glance at the time, seeing it would still be a while before she had her planned sleep. She could do it, although she hadn’t had a tea party since she was a little girl. “I’m able to. Just let me take care of my book and then we can.” She got up and put her bookmark in the book as she did so. Kanato was hot on her heels as they made their way to her bedroom, where Bara tucked her book into the small nook she had made on the desk.
“So…” Bara began as she stood back up and began to turn around. “What type of drinks do you like at your…” She was stopped short when facing Kanato, finding him way too close to her for comfort and the immediate grip on her arms slightly painful.
His head dipped down to her neck, inhaling her scent. This time the nuisance of a scarf wasn’t there, so it was all free reign for Kanato to explore the smell coming from Bara.
“What’re you…”
“Shut up.” Bara could hear Kanato take in a deep inhale after his comment. Her skin tickled where his nose was at.
“For a drink… I’d rather have blood than some measly tea that’s going to be bitter.” Kanato scrunched his face up at the thought of something too dark touching his tongue. It had been a long time since there had been a sacrificial bride, he wanted fresh blood. The scent of Bara’s was enough to send him wanting to divulge in as much as he could.
“W-Wait…” Bara attempted to push against Kanato, gently, as she knew he was fast to anger. “Could you at least not bite hard? And maybe not somewhere that could prove dangerous to me?” She knew it was going to be inevitable that he would bite her, but she wanted some assurance she wouldn’t be completely uncomfortable or seriously injured if so.
Kanato only looked at her from his spot. She couldn’t see his gaze, but he sent one of irritation in her direction. A mere human girl would not change what he wanted. If he wanted to feast on her here, then he would. And why care about her comfort when he was the one who was hungry and suffering for so long?
His lips made connection with Bara’s skin, making the girl flinch away from the touch. She was scared, and rightfully so. But Kanato wasn’t having any of it, he wanted to drink now.
His arms went to wrap completely around her with one hand snaking up and grabbing the nape of her neck and also tangling his fingers in her hair there. The grip was hard and firm, restricting Bara from moving her head anymore. A small whimper came from Bara as she went to brace herself.
She had fended off others who had pestered her for her short time there, so she still had no idea how bad a bite would be. The grip alone from Kanato was already hurting her. She could feel the harshness of the yank on her hair, the steel tight-like grip of his arms also left her in a position of only shallow breaths as well.
In the next moment, it was only Bara’s cries of pain as Kanato dug into her flesh with his fangs. Blood pooled out rapidly, making Kanato latch his lips against Bara’s skin as well to trap any of the red liquid from escaping. The pain continued to radiate for the period Kanato had his fangs dug into Bara’s jugular. They left a stinging sensation as he pulled them out, but Kanato didn’t stop there. He kept his lips latched on, sucking on the skin the wound was put into, drawing out more blood and bruising the skin there.
In an attempt, Bara nudged her head slightly, only earning herself another bite from Kanato. She was not to move or else he would punish her for going against him, although it was also difficult to tell if it was more for his pleasure. Her body also was pulled even closer to him, tighter, and for more access to her neck and shoulder. More bites began to litter her neck and some went down onto her shoulder as her cardigan was pulled away.
There was no way to fend for herself, Bara had to endure it. Her grip began to loosen on Kanato’s shirt, fingers still clinging on, but not as secure as before. It was an odd feeling, her own self being drained from her, and the side effects of losing the blood being the weakening of her limbs and a small buzz begin in her head.
She could feel as they shifted, her back up against something flat and cold, probably her desk. Even if she was slightly dizzy, it was hard for her to understand what was going on when not in proper focus. Even when another whimper came from her lips, she wasn’t aware, not even with how it affected the vampire still taking his fill from her.
Kanato continued to suck on her flesh for a few more moments before turning to lick the wounds. They sealed up quickly, acting upon the abilities he had to keep a human from bleeding out. But not only that but the taste of this girl’s blood…
Slightly sour, but delectably sweet. The slight tingle on his tongue as he had drunk from her made him want more. The way it smoothly flowed, like a sweet and sugary drink, down his throat was a feeling he wanted to continue to taste. And he definitely didn’t want to share it with any of his brothers.
He was obsessed.
Kanato went to use his hand behind Bara’s neck to reposition her head so he could look at her face. She was still squinting from the pain, trying to endure how he was treating her. It was cute to him, seeing her suffer from his hand. But he also knew… that little noise she made was the first sign he could break her into what he wanted, to make her his perfect doll.
She had the features for it. The soft jawline, it was rounder instead of following the obsession over the v-shape, that those in the current country focused on. She had slender eyes, not wide, but just large enough to show off her grayish-green eyes, a rare trait for someone in this region as well. Small lips that were the right size for her face. A soft nose, strong enough to be prominent but still delicate in features. And the feel of her hair… was soft, completely straight if not tousled around too much. She looked like she could be a perfect living doll for Kanato.
While he wanted more of her blood, he wanted to taste another part of her. To see how innocent she truly was.
With a simple hoist, Kanato drew Bara back up towards him. She clung to him for safety, making the vampire enjoy the moment more. First going to him for protection, now relying on him so she didn’t possibly fall. It made him all too giddy.
“I want to taste more of you,” Kanato muttered as he pulled Bara’s face close to his.
She tried to look at him with as much focus as she could but struggled to properly comprehend. “What do you…” Bara was cut off with Kanato’s lips slipping and fitting against hers.
A small “chu” could be heard as Kanato disconnected, but like with the bites he didn’t stop at one. More kisses were placed against Bara’s lips as Kanato reveled in the taste of her flesh and small bits of her inner mouth he did delve into. He wanted more, to taste more of her.
The kisses became deeper, some sounds of squeaks and surprised gasps leaving Bara as Kanato continued to ravage her mouth. She had no experience and she wasn’t expecting someone to commit such an act with her for quite a while. It’s thanks to this that Kanato could break in so easily, enjoying every little bit he could explore of her mouth.
The ride to the new home was a long one. Bara found herself reading nearly an entire novel before the car came to a final halt. When she did look up, the view in front of her left her in awe.
A large and old-looking mansion. Not to mention there were some rosebeds in the front that showed they wound around the back. The place was tall and long, indicating that if Bara wanted to be by herself away from the guardian’s other kids, she thankfully could.
Bara got out of the car and retrieved what she still had with her since leaving the old apartment. While some objects she did take, most of the furniture would be donated to those in need. All that was on her was clothes, small furniture items from her bedroom, photos of her family, and the family scarf given to her by her parents.
Walking up to the front door with her school bag, a backpack, and her suitcase was a bit of a struggle, and even more so when she attempted to knock on the door.
It only took one knock and the door swung open. Gratitude filled Bara as she was thankful for someone helping her with moving in. But upon entering and taking a deep breather did she realize no one was there.
She turned her head left to right to see if anyone was around. There was no one.
Sure, a smile would be on her face for a moment, but serotonin was temporary and minuscule for her.
So when she finally did get a larger boost that made her happy for most of the day, coming home to an empty apartment was not what she was expecting.
“Uncle?” Bara called out as she entered the apartment they shared together. She set her school bag down by the shoe mat before kicking off her loafers and entering deeper into the home.
Usually he was home before her, considering she had to take the train to get home. For him not to be home without a notice at breakfast had never happened before.
“Maybe he forgot to tell me he had to go somewhere…” she mumbled to herself before heading to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
She made enough for two, putting the portion for her uncle in a bento for him when he arrived later. And as usual, the meal was eaten in silence when it was just her.
Thoughts would wander to different subjects, mainly homework and whatever was needed to be done for her special study. This time though… it was only curiosity about where her uncle had gone.
It wasn’t until Bara was nearly complete with her homework a few hours later that a knock came at her door. She was fast to get up and check who was there through the peephole.
It was the police.
Dread filled her.
The last time she had police talk to her was at her middle school when her parents died. Why were they here now?
She opened the door slowly and looked at the main officer. “How can I help you two today?”
“Hello, miss. I’m Officer Kuran. Are you the niece of Jugo Shikki?” Officer Kuran questioned.
The thought of what he would say next made Bara’s stomach drop.
“Yes, I’m Bara, Jugo Shikki’s niece.” She paused for a moment but spoke up again. “Is my uncle involved in a case?”
Both officers eyed one another for a moment. They both knew of the girl’s parents as it happened here in the same city. Breaking the news to her made them fearful of her reaction.
“In a way… yes. But probably not how you want to hear it, Miss Shikki.” Kuran said.
“Your uncle passed away around noon today. It’s quite horrific, so I’m guessing you don’t want to see his body.”
All color from Bara’s face drained immediately. Two years ago it was her parents. Now her only other blood was gone. Tears began to well in her eyes as the sadness she’d always repress came back to the front at full force.
Even as she tried to keep her composure, the tears alone made the officers know how much of an effect it was already having.
Hoping to still have her attention, Kuran tried to push on. “Since you’re still a child, you will need a guardian or move to the system we have for orphaned teenagers. If we can’t find someone you feel comfortable with, then we can help you with housing.”
“Where… do I have to go now?” Bara tried to speak through her sniffles and quiet sobs, doing her best to understand all that would happen.
“You can stay here for now and contemplate. If you’d like, we can call you with updates for finding you someone. Would you also like us to contact your school so they can excuse you for a few days?”
“If I could do my lessons from home, yes. But I’d rather continue on with school if possible…” Even in her wrecked mental state, Bara didn’t want to give up her opportunities to continue learning.
“Understood. I hope you can have a good rest of your day, Miss.” Kuran gave a polite bow, his partner doing the same before they went to leave.
Bara closed the door and locked it. The next thing she knew she was on the floor and sobbing. Life was not kind to her.
~~~~~
Even as days passed, nothing lifted Bara’s mood. Any time she wasn’t focusing on her schoolwork was spent in bed. She ate, but barely. Any time her friends asked her to hang out? She declined.
She didn’t know what else to do.
What was there if there was no one left who had been with you since birth?
She didn’t know and it only made her mood worsen.
When the landline rang, it took a lot of effort for her to even get up and head into the living room to answer it.
“Hello?”
“Hello, Miss Shikki. I am calling to let you know that there is someone offering to take you in. Mr. Togo Sakamaki is his name. Although his place of residence is not in this city and actually quite far away.” The woman on the other end continued on to relay information on the man, explaining how much he had helped communities and how he housed children of his own already.
With how it sounded, this man was kind and compassionate. And even if far away, that change may be for the best for Bara. She had too many negative memories here.
“I think that may be best for me. I'd prefer a guardian who’s kind and compassionate like how you are describing. And the move away may be for the better. Will I be able to get a chance to say goodbye to friends before I leave?” Bara asked.
“Of course! They may be there as soon as tomorrow to pick you up! We trust Mr. Sakamaki to greet you without us interfering.”
It was strange to hear that line. Bara knew most of the time a worker had to be present when a new guardian was given to a minor. But given the wealth the man had, he probably could request things like this.
“Alright then. I’ll try to make my goodbyes quick then. Thank you, miss.” Bara then hung up.
Little did she know that the woman on the other end was being watched closely. Being given orders to wipe Bara from all records by a mysterious platinum blonde man…
(Kisses in admin cheek!! Love your writing! 💕💕)
Bara: "Well uh... I guess I can explain a bit about our relationship... It is definite that Kanato will protect me from anyone, he doesn't like others near me one bit. Also, I'm the only one he gives romantic affection to. You could say that our relationship is usually mutual and we reciprocate each other's feelings when it comes to the positives. On the other hand, I shut down or completely turn into survival or flight mode when he's throwing a tantrum directed at me. He does like it though when I help him calm down from tantrums directed at other things though. He usually ends them with hugging me, and honestly... I like that I can help calm him and that he gives me the tightest and sincerest hugs in those moments."
Mun note in the keep reading!
Mun Note: I don't have much yet, but there should also be a "headcanon" tag on my blog for everyone interested! There is also "Kanara" for couples things and then Bara's main tag: "Bara Shikki" for everything on her so far too! I always add new ideas with that tag to help people find out fun tidbits as they come to me!
