I guess it would be fitting that my first post on my blog in a while would be about one of the biggest things that has ever happened to me. But first, a little backstory. I was adopted from birth by my beautiful mother and also best friend, Genie. I found this out when I was in the 3rd grade. Although it was shocking, the blow was lessened by the fact that I had known my biologicals my entire life. Instead of knowing them as mom and dad, however, I knew them as Aunt Trace and Uncle Chester. Turns out, they had four kids total. First, my older sister CiCi...who was adopted out by catholic charities. I'm next in line. Next is Kale (whom they kept) and a year later another boy was born and adopted out. Out of the blue Wednesday, August 19th, 2015 around 6 in the evening I received a Facebook friend request...and I almost passed out. Had I really just been friend-ed by my biological sister? Turns out I had. She has been looking for me since she was a kid and we met on Thursday the 20th! It was so surreal, it still is. I feel like I might wake up tomorrow and it will all have been a dream. Also turns out she has been chronically ill since she was a kid too. It is kind of creepy how similar our lives have been. I cannot wait to get to know her, though. To have so much in common with someone I had only just met was incredibly strange, but also incredibly awesome.
