the web of fear thoughts

- better than the other intelligence/yeti story but unfortunately not of my favourites

- introduction of the brigadier (or colonel currently)! i didn’t realise we met him so soon but i can’t wait to see his character more.

- i spent the entire story thinking anne was working with the intelligence. i was very wrong.

- covent garden/seven dials in the 60s! it’s insane to see how different it was back then - i could place exactly where it was and it’s changed so much.

- old tube map and tube stations too! (i know they didn’t actually film in the underground which is a shame)

the enemy of the world thoughts

- an extremely interesting and intriguing story! it’s completely understandable why so many people love it and i wholeheartedly agree

- troughton was incredible. his acting was superb as both the doctor and salamander.

- the plot twist of the bunker was so unsuspecting and worked so well

- the doctor throwing his clothes off and running into the ocean. he’s so unserious and i love him.

- the story being set in 2018. seeing how they thought the world would be like is fascinating.

- (a fascist trying to take over the world and unjustly imprisoning people in 2018? so unrealistic what are they talking about…)

- i can’t get over them saying we have a rocket from australia to hungary that takes a few hours

- i am still loving this tardis team more and more every episode

the ice warriors thoughts

- i was so excited to get to this story and see the origins of the ice warriors!

- the storyline with the computer was interesting to see watching it all these years later. the obsession with following what the computer says is “correct”

- the tardis trio trying to climb out of the tardis. the doctor standing on jamie’s head, jamie kneeling on his hand, the two of them pulling victoria up. i couldn’t stop laughing!

- two and jamie continue to be a bonded pair. love that for them.

- i adore victoria! it was so easily for the writers to fall into the “useless woman from the past” trope but she really holds her own

- that said can they please continue writing victoria that way

the more i watch and learn about classic who the more annoyed i get at certain choices made in new who.

for example, did we need to throw billie piper in there with an is or isn’t she a version of the doctor just because we didn’t have someone else cast already? if we could get around this sort of thing back in the 60s/80s by doing things like slapping sylvester mccoy in a wig surely we could sort something out with the cgi advancements we have now.

the abominable snowman thoughts

- this was a struggle to get through. the story felt slow and i don’t think the fact it was mainly animated helped

- i did find the last few episodes picked up and i enjoyed episode 6

- it was great to see the origins of the intelligence though!

- the doctor throwing a rock at the yeti killed me

- an actual yeti turning up at the end was an hilarious surprise

the tomb of the cybermen thoughts

- another incredible troughton story and the first fully surviving one! i loved it!

- victoria is wonderful. i really love her.

- two and jamie are an iconic duo and i adore their dynamic (them holding hands. amazing.)

- troughton is constantly just a sneaky little shit and i love that for him

- CYBERMATS! i had no clue they originated in the classic era. i thought they were brand new.

- first appearance of the cyber-controller too! so much good cyberman lore in this one and it’s so interesting to see.

- this version of the cybermen are the creepiest. something about their flat metal faces/heads is so off putting.

the evil of the daleks thoughts

- DALEK EMPEROR

- i so badly wish we had the clips of the doctor riding on the daleks. that was so funny

- “dizzy daleks” adorable. i want one.

- justice for kemel!

- can’t wait to see victoria on the tardis! and i also can’t wait to see more of two and jamie

two and jamie remind me of a dad and the pet he didn’t want but got you anyway that he ends up becoming attached to

the faceless ones thoughts

- i am loving the stories at the moment. they seem to have really found their groove

- it’s sad that ben and polly weren’t featured much in their final story. it would’ve been nice to see more of them

- i loved samantha and jean’s character so much!

- two and jamie are such a fun duo together

- jamie not being able to cope in a plane (mood) and being constantly confused by things in 20th century was so amusing to watch

the macra terror thoughts

- creepy big crab creatures!

- i completely forgot that the macra were brought back in gridlock until a clip appeared from the episode when i was trying to find the surviving clips

- the whole thing and especially the singing was giving me eerie stepford wives vibes

- jamie just going into the highland fling. you can take the boy out of scotland…

- i’m starting to understand twojamie shippers and why it’s such a popular ship (i’m personally not a fan of any doctor/companion in general but i get it)

- i really loved this one! my favourite troughton story so far.

the moonbase thoughts

- not my favourite of the two cybermen stories so far. i preferred tenth planet.

- these cybermen faces are much creeper though (ft. me two seconds later giggling at the obvious suit zipper)

- seeing them float away at the end was also hilarious

- polly was better in this than the last story (but lovely bit of 60s era misogyny in there unfortunately)

- i realised we are now closer to the story’s setting in 2070 than we are the year it aired (1967) which is insane

the underwater menace thoughts

- we get to see troughton properly in action for the first time in his earliest surviving episode! his doctor seems to be such a cheeky little shit and i love it

- i really enjoyed this story. the concept is a little bit silly but fun

- as a greek mythology fan i’m all for the lost city of atlantis being included in who

- why does polly seem to have been reverted into a screaming damsel in distress. i was liking her character before

- jamie being scottish was a jumpscare at first. still don’t know how i missed that information.

- zaroff is an icon even if he did want to blow up the planet

the power of the daleks thoughts

- finally onto troughton after a delay due to things happening irl!

- i can’t wait to get to his first surviving episode. having the animation is great but it’s hard to get a feel of his doctor without the full thing

- the daleks in this episode were lowkey terrifying. this is definitely the scariest i’ve seen them

- watching them fully create new daleks was creepy. i know we’ve seen bits of it in new who but actually see it happen hit so differently

- i am really loving ben. i loved seeing his and polly’s struggle at accepting the new doctor
