Fiction/storytelling is a really good way to get people to relate to and understand moral lessons tho. Examples: Greek Mythology, Norse Mythology, the parables in the Bible, (the Bible in general), the many novels written by poc that substantially contributed towards the abolishment of slavery in the US, etc, etc, etc.

If white people cant empathize and listen to stories of racism without relating it to fiction because they refuse to make human connections with people of color, they have a problem. Relating Harry Potter and Avengers to abolition texts is such a laughable thing like…holy shit

but i mean it works? using fiction as an analogy is an effective way to introduce someone who isn’t aware of their privilege or w/e to the hardships of someone who had a harder life? harry potter and avengers ain’t the best example but like if u fucking throw abolishionist text at a white person they’re not as likely to read it, but if you throw a show that explores those themes it attracts more people. calm down?

I literally cannot but thanks for admitting that it’s easier to relate to elves and witches than actual real people of color.
