i also just posted this on twt but i think i want to bring this thought over here:

i keep seeing complaints about the unconventional nature of pink's secret boss fight, but like, for one, no one took nearly this much issue with gerson being another unconventional boss. why is unconventionality only a problem when pink does it..? but whatever i guess. more importantly,

the way i saw it, maddie hijacked the real boss fight. if it had just been mew mew, things would have been way different. she may have felt the need to use her shadow crystal if maddie wasn't there. her knowledge about FRIEND and A Certain Someone just affirms this, imo. and there's something to be said about maddie possessing the body of a fully autonomous person from another dimension and disrupting the flow of how things "should be" isn't there.

#everyone gets the pink-soul+kris parallels but idk if enough people are thinking about the other half of that #ik i described deltarune as the game where the choices of the player don't matter as much as the characters' in the tags of my last post #but i do think our presence in kris has caused a shift in how things were Meant to play out lol
