twitter users when you ask them to remember that society is built upon the patriarchy and misogyny and we all have misogynistic biases to unlearn because this shit was drilled into our heads from birth and this is going to be reflected in fictional stories whether the author intended it or not (how did we forget the unconscious in unconscious bias so fast lol?) and this is worth discussing

Ultimately, you can like or dislike any character for whatever arbitrary reason. It's neither activism nor a moral failing, don't let the internet convince you otherwise. On the other hand, if you consistently find yourself lacking any interest in the, e.g., female characters of the media you engage with that may be a sign of some unconscious biases you need to examine.

alu's appointment went well and he's homeeeeeeee minus one tooth 😭😭 my poor baby........ he's still super groggy and out of it but he seems relieved to be home 💗 it took a couple hours for him to fully settle down and stop pacing and checking everything like he wasn't sure if he was actually home but he's resting comfortably now, thank goodness

cannot thank everyone enough for all the support and help with alu these past few days. i just want to say that we were able to get enough for me to afford his appointment!! we're on our way to the vet now 🥹 thank you... it means so much to me 💗💗💗

hiiiii soooooo as you guys may know, alu got hit by a car last month. he was miraculously okay but he did break one of his teeth, and it turns out he needs it removed 🥲 he's in more pain every day and it's starting to affect his ability to eat so it can't wait. and it's a little much for me to cover on my own right now, since school is out and my summer job search is going slow :(

if anyone can spare a few dollars to help me pay for the appointment (the vet gave me a rough estimate of about $500 but that wasn't including the meds they'll surely tack on...), i would really appreciate it 🥲 pls share this post too if you can ;; i hate seeing my baby uncomfortable and in pain, and waiting too long risks infection

i can't wait for ch5 and whatever answers it has in store though because like. the utdr fandom on twitter has become unbearable recently. theory-crafting has devolved into a competition of proving everyone wrong; pure contrarianism rather than genuine analysis. it also feels like way too many people spent too long thinking of dess as this helpless tragic victim and cannot reconcile with the very good chance that she has a very active role in the story and they're doing everything they can to deny and dismiss it

i think some healthy skepticism is good for discussions. like i've recently shifted gears into thinking of the knight as dess's creation - her own vessel of sorts - due to some earnest dessknight skeptics pointing out certain flaws in the standard interpretation of the theory. but this isn't that anymore. it's just a bunch of cocky assholes smugly crossing their arms and saying like "heh. i'm so much smarter and better than all of you fools who believe the theory that's thematically appropriate, has mountains of evidence, and also parallels toby fox's biggest inspiration" and it's so fucking annoyingggggggg. dessknight is the most popular theory for a reason give it a little more credit AT LEAST
