Am I A Barbie Girl?
When I think of Barbie I think blonde, skinny, tall, tanned because that is everything associated with a Barbie doll. I put on my tightest pink dress, did my hair and put on make up to see if I could look Barbie-like. I’m blonde and I’m a little bit tanned but it is fake, I’m fair from tall and not super model skinny. Does that mean I’m not a Barbie girl? My favourite colour is pink, does that also factor into how to be a Barbie girl? There are lots of stereotypes surrounding Barbies, but I think if you actually went to a shop or searched online for the dolls you would find such a wider variety of dolls, they have come so far since the original dolls. You will find dolls of different colours and sizes, different hairstyles and identity’s. Yes Barbie’s have developed a lot, but I think they’ve still got a long way to go in terms of diversity. Therefore, if I want to be a Barbie girl I can💗
First styling from the shoot, I photoshopped these accessories onto the model and it just adds a bit of bling 💎

We Are Barbie.
This is a double page spread from Vogue’s June 2019 issue, this is German fashion designer Phillip Plein. Plein used fashion photographer Tony Kelly to shoot his latest shoe line. The use of the dolls around the half naked women in this concept has a sense of power and wealth, the ideas of this shoot could be around toy boys through the use of actual toys and young men. The stereotype that older and wealthy women like younger men, for example cleaning their pools.
