Tonight I watched Paul.

And I enjoyed as much as "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz".

There were lots of sci fi movie references (Alien, ET, Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, Star Wars, Aliens, Predator, etc.)

It had an AWESOME cast, MARVELOUS character development, and a terrific script that went from sweet and moving, to hilarious, to scary, and back.

It was really SO MUCH FUN!

The Pilliga Princess and other spooky stories

During a discussion about ghosts on Overnights some time ago  Michael Pavlich took a number of calls about the Pilliga Princess - a woman who inhabited the Pilliga Forest on the Newell Highway. Since her passing her ghost has apparently been spotted on the side of the road.

During the evening a caller -  'Bongo' -  rang in to the program and described his experiences in the Pilliga to Michael . 

Now Michael's interview with 'Bongo" has inspired a new play!  The Director Ella Watson-Russell created  'Acacia Hills'  after hearing about  this spooky late night interview, and the interview forms part of the performance.

'Acacia Hills' Welcome to the Never Never", has had seasons in Darwin and at the Melbourne Fringe Festival .
