“My name is Nasch.” his tone cold,void of the warm it once held. “leader of the emperors…we have won the war,Avina..” eyes so dull and emotionless..

Ordinarily, Mizael would have hated being in agreement with Vector, but humans were beneath them! He almost objected to say so until Nasch pulled the woman closer. His… lover!?

Durbe was startled by Nasch’s change, especially since he rarely ever came before them in his human form. He had stayed loyal to the Barians ever since that day 3 years ago. Nasch’s words caused them all to freeze, but Durbe was the first to speak up. “Nasch, my friend… may I ask what you mean by ‘made a choice?’”

Avina had winced at Mizael and Vector’s harsh words, almost shrinking in on herself in shame… but she remained strong, her resolve only strengthened by Nasch’s hand on her waist and defense of her. She decided not to say anything just yet, instead sliding her own arm around Nasch and snuggling close to him.

Alito  was calm too but looked worried what was Nasch choice? why was he in human form!? with Avina..Vector snarled looking away.arms crossing over his chest clearly Disgusted. 

Nasch wavered then anger leaving opening his mouth to speak again but paused. “I mean…” He carefully began. “We All should end this war this split… between..Barians and Humans..” He waited for a moment letting that sink in before talking again. “I chosen.. Avina as my love and ..and i don’t regret making that choice.” that answered it right? his mind was racing with panic and stress.

“End it… how?” Girag asked warily.

“Surely you don’t mean giving up… my Lord, excuse my boldness, but that’s a- those are… they’re humans! They’re beneath us! I could understand if you wanted to keep this one as a pet, but to end the war? We are proud Barian Emperors! The war should not end until they bow to us!” Mizael objected, trying to keep his voice level and respectful.

“Nasch… what brought this on? I thought you were going to fight for Barian World… for the souls of all your fallen soldiers who followed you here.” Durbe asked.

Avina couldn’t remain silent anymore. “Durbe… do you truly believe that’s what’s best for those souls? After all this time, fighting and fighting… don’t you think they deserve some rest? Some peace? Don’t you think YOU all deserve some peace and rest? Guys… we don’t have to fight. Did you guys even know that… that Yuma wasn’t gonna destroy your world? He wanted to find a way to establish peace between all the worlds. We’ve all been through a whole fuckin’ lot… Nasch and I… we want to help establish peace. For everyone.”

Nasch let Avina talk,not wanting to reply just yet instead he glanced at his sister who looked like she understood already.Then his eyes flickered to Alito and Vector.Both Barian looked away at the mention of yuma.

Nasch finally spoke up. “Not giving up.. but like Avina just said  establish peace, Yuma didn’t deserve any pain or loss no human did.It was cruel we can make things better for everyone…we need to stop this war.”

Vector huffed then wanting to speak, “Don’t bother bringing up Yuma…that duelist  has gone into hiding after everything…” Vector didn’t meet anyone eyes his hand clenching into a fist. “….I already know yuuma wasn’t going too. he’s not like that.” Even as evil as vector became he still sort of cared for the human

Avina almost snarked something back at Vector when he commented about Yuma going into hiding, but she bit her tongue, shaking her head. “Look, we’ve all suffered because of this war. I mean… even if you did succeed in destroying humanity and Astral World, what would you gain? What have you gained so far? Do you feel more powerful? Are you happier now that you’ve essentially conquered more land?” She asked, looking to Alito. “Alito, you used to be a Roman. When Rome went around conquering all the lands around it, did it make you feel any better? Did it make your life better in any way? The reason I ask is because… clearly we are all suffering. You guys and Astral World have been at war with one another for so long… do you even remember why you’re fighting at all?”

Durbe paused again. Yuma had asked him that question… he hadn’t had an answer then… and he didn’t have an answer now. None of them really knew why they were fighting. Don Thousand had said it was because Astral World was a threat but… in those 3 years, they hadn’t heard a single word from the other planet. They had beat Astral into a coma, and still Astral World didn’t say or do a thing. Was… was Don Thousand lying?

Alito shrunk back looking at Nasch then at Avina. “I…i don’t feel happy about this about hurting yuuma he was…my friend once.” he replied slowly not daring to look at Mizaels reaction. Befriending a human he cares about yuma truly he did. 

Vector jumped down from where he was sitting landing a few feet away from the group. “This is getting boring, if you all decide to join… HER side of things..that’s just.” He paused thinking of yuuma. “Just…pathetic.” he hissed.Yeah he wouldn’t say it never not at all but he wanted to see yuuma his friend again. if this peace meant that…

“As much as I hate saying so, I agree with Vector. Humans are pathetic, and stooping to groveling for peace with them makes us just as pathetic. We are proud Barian Emperors!” Mizael grumbled, crossing his arms. 

“You say that… yet YOU were once humans too. Don’t bother lying, I’ve been to the Mytherian Ruins. I’m not fucking stupid, I worked it out. The Colosseum was Alito’s, the Temple on the Mountain was Mizael’s, the Trap Castle was Vector’s, the Danger Pyramid thing was Durbe’s, the Sacred Temple near Heartland was Girag’s, and that Maze under the ocean… was Merag and Nasch’s. You all were humans once, too. At least 3 of you were casualties of War… how can you want to keep going knowing that?” Avina replied, refusing to back down to Mizael. She knew he was one of the grumpiest Barians. She refused to let his bad attitude stop her. “I’m tired of fighting, we all are. Why are you so opposed to peace? Have you even considered how much PEACE would benefit you?”

Nasch let go of Avina for a moment eyes flashing pink to red his barian aura showing again threating Mizael without even words. “So are you calling your KING PATHETIC?!” he snarled. Voice rising in volume. “Peace is better than war!”

Vector raised his hands in defeat eyes wide, he might not like Nasch but he was scary when angry or upset. muttering something.. “I didn’t really say we grovel…” me hated agreeing with Nasch but maybe peace was the right thing to do. eyes cast down his shifted. 

Alito sighed. “I just…Want Nasch happy and everyone happy i never liked this war plan.. Mizael don’t you get tired of it…we w”  he whispered.

Avina too was rather surprised by his rage, but it secretly warmed her heart and further reassured her of his resolve. Yes, Nasch was Barian… but he was also human too. He was embracing that. She stepped forward, placing a hand on his shoulder to calm him, giving him a gentle smile before looking up at Mizael, her expression gentle but serious.

“Mizael… you’re not some war hawk. The story I learned from your ruins showed that you are a peace keeper at heart. You protect those who can’t protect themselves. This war has gone on long enough. People are suffering, we’re all suffering… but we don’t have to keep suffering. We can help one another. You can object if you really want… but I’m marrying Nasch. We’re doing this. We’re ending this war and we’re going to help people.” Avina said, her words causing Mizael’s gaze to change from distain to tentative respect.

If Durbe had a mouth, he certainly would have smiled. “She really is quite the diplomat, Nasch. Part of me wonders how she would have faired in our former life as your oceanic bride.”

The magenta haired girl gave Durbe a thankful smile, but paused at his words. “Uh… ‘oceanic bride?’”

Vector looked defeated turning his back on everyone and huffing. “Pathetic.”

Nasch smiled at Durbe words then blinked..eyes widened as he realized she had no idea of her past.His heart sunk he remembered everything but she still didn’t know? this would be awkward. “Eh....” shooting a half hearted glare at his best friend Durbe. 

Alito tilted his head curiosity spiked and he walked over more. “What did Durbe mean…?”

“I would like to know, too… Nasch… do you know what he’s talking about?” Avina asked, looking up at her fiance.

Durbe looked back at Nasch, his expression definitely sheepish. “Ah, forgive me… I-I had thought you knew.” He admitted scratching the back of his neck.

Mizael was definitely interested, but he did not want to admit it. He was still quite irritated with the whole situation, and part of him believed that the girl had manipulated their king into submission. Still, Nasch was powerful, he was their leader after all, so provoking a fight with him would certainly be deadly.

Nasch looked nervous now shifting and  glancing dwn but met Avina eyes. “Well.. you eh..had a past… and i was in your p-past? and um..” he felt so awkward now. He knew everyone was staring. “You was..are a mermaid and w fell in love in that past as well.” he mumbled blushing faintly as he remembered everything that had happened. “I don’t know every detail but..we met and we slowly bonded overtime and i thought you knew…this, i wasn’t keeping it a secret.”

Avina listened, taking it all in. So… she’d had an ancient past like Nasch? Not only that, but she’d also been a mermaid? She was silent for a moment, hugging Nasch and snuggling into his chest. “I believe you. It’s… it’s startling to learn for sure… but truth be told, it doesn’t change anything right now. I still love you dearly, I still want to marry you, and I still want to end this war. I’m sure if there’s anything that needs taken care of regarding my past, it can certainly wait.” Avina replied, meeting his eyes and caressing his cheek. “Mermaid or not… we got a wedding to arrange and a war to end… and I’m gonna do it right by your side!” She finished, grinning and kissing him.

Nasch smiled kissing her back and pulling her close. “I love you..” He whispered ignoring any looks mainly from Vector who was  making faces and pointing and wanting to comment. ”And right the war we will end it.. and  have that wedding my love~”

Avina hummed happily, kissing him back. “Besides, we can always talk about my past later.” She replied, ignoring Vector. “We should work out this wedding thing soon, and I will need to get in contact with the other human survivors so I can tell them what we’re planning. Our union will hopefully unite Earth and Barian World… they may be wary at first, but I’ll sort it out with them.” Avina said, mostly just thinking outloud. She sighed, snuggling into Nasch’s arms. “Nasch… I love you so much. I… I’m honestly really excited to be your wife.”

“Thank you for still loving me, hm alright ~ we do need wedding plans soon.You can of course pick the date.” Kissing her cheek. “Being apart from you killed me Avina but moving forward. We can start a life together, I’m excited too. “He said holding her  close.

She smiled brightly, snuggling into the warmth of his chest. “I want to have the wedding as soon as possible. Within the month, for sure! I… i hated being apart from you too, and I never want to be parted again. We’re going to have a bright future. I… I hope that we can have kids too.” Avina admitted, blushing hard.

He smiled brighter, “Yes.. that can happen!” He blinked at her confessing she wanted kids and his heart started beating with so much love. He had forgetting  being a proper King in front of his people. he was in love and shows it then, picking up Avina and twirling her around gently of course. “Yes! i want to marry you and have kids--a family..!!” he was blushing and grinning like an idiot..back to his old self.

The barian king huffed, stopping from walking away from Chris before smirking coldly. “I said the same thing to your brother when i won that duel and watched him vanish~ ”

Something immediately snapped within the eldest, words about his brother so commonly thrown away like trash. “Thomas..” He fought back the sadness only to be replaced by anger. The familiar blue crest presented itself and he chased after the other snagging his arm and clenching it tightly. “You’re making a big mistake bad mouthing him, to stand up to you is nothing more than a noble quality, all you are is a cheap gimmick. Relying on that so called ‘magic’ to win..”

His eyes narrowed. Looking at the eyes on the oldest brother of IV before attempting to pull his arm away. “Huh, i didn’t use any magic in that duel. What do you want me to say? sorry? Like that would fix everything..” The King seemed to regret that duel but would never bluntly say it.
