โHey doll, what are you baking?โ Bucky asks as he saunters into the kitchen clad in tight jeans and a Henley. He leans in to kiss your cheek, his coconut shower gel lingers in the air as you inhale deeply.
โPeanut butter cookies.โ You reply after a few seconds, rolling out the last of the dough and putting them on the baking tray.
โDelicious, and I missed all the fun?โ Bucky pouts, sticking his bottom lip out. You bite back a grin and the urge to reach up on your tippy toes to peck his plump lips.
โWell, the fun part is eating them, not making them.โ You counter with a smile, wiping your hands on your apron. You take the tray of cookies over to the preheated oven and pop them in.
Bucky hums contentedly, standing behind you and wrapping his arms around you. You feel his head drop on your shoulder, and you absentmindedly lean your head back against him, almost purring when his beard rubs against your cheek.
โThey smell delicious.โ He sighs against your neck. His hot breath sends a shiver throughout your body. โOr maybe thatโs just you who smells so good.โ He drawls, peppering your neck in sloppy wet kisses.
โOr maybe- maybe thatโs just you.โ You counter, your breath hitching when he kisses a sweet spot and the last of your resistance snaps. You turn in his arms and jump up on the counter with your legs apart and grab him by his Henley. His fingers trail up under your skirt as he kisses and bites your neck. The soft moans that fall from your lips are like music to Buckyโs ears. Itโs his favourite sound and wouldnโt change it for anything in the world.
He leaves light kisses along your jawline until he reaches your lips, and thatโs when he turns desperate and hungry. Your lips part inviting his tongue to explore your mouth, his fingers reach the waistband of your underwear and just as he begins to dip his fingers inside of them, the oven beeps breaking you two apart.
โI- I have to get them.โ You pant, feeling hot from the spontaneous make out session.
โFuck the cookies!โ Bucky wheezes, his eyes dark and lips swollen. Fuck, heโs such a sight. You know you probably look the same in his eyes.
โNuh uh!โ You shake your head and pull yourself together. โI worked hard making these, we have all night.โ You sigh, jumping off the counter. Your legs feel weak and like jelly but you still manage to walk over to the oven to turn it off. Bucky runs his fingers through his hair, watching every move you make.
You pull the cookies out with a towel and set them down on the counter. They smell gorgeous, and you canโt help it when your fingers pick one up and take a bite, moaning when the flavours hit your tastebuds. Bucky joins you, plucking one up off the tray and almost eating it whole, some crumbs escaping and falling in his beard. โWhat do you think?โ You ask, raising your eyebrows as he takes another cookie.
He shrugs when he swallows, a sly smirk tugging the corner of his lips.
โSโalright.โ He finally grins, wiping the corner of your lips with his thumb and closing the gap once again. Youโre aching for him and he knows it. โBut you taste so much better.โ

I have a couple of other similar asks to this, just sort of Bucky being Bucky and wonderful. I decided to make the readers anxiety less the focus- since everyone experiences it in different ways- and focus on what would help, which I also know can be different for everyone but that's why I tried to include a few things- cuddles, soft words of comfort, Alpine, quietness, baths...things like that! When Bucky steps into your shared apartment he instantly searches for you, his eyes scanning the room until they finally land on a ball of blanket curled up on the couch. Alpine is atop it, curled up much the same, his head lifted in a quiet greeting.
With calm movements Bucky takes off his boots and his jacket before he makes his way to you. Without any words he gathers you and the blanket into his arms and pulls you against his chest. Alpine protests with a small meow but climbs up onto Buckyโs shoulder as soon as he settles.
You let out a sigh and bury your face in his Henley, gripping the fabric tightly between your fingers. He delicately rubs your back, his fingers tracing patterns over the blanket and then along your shoulders. You deeply inhale, the rush of the scent of his skin enveloping you in an overwhelming feeling of safety.
He starts to speak softly, his poetic words familiar to you even in Russian; โiz nochi, kotoraya pokryvayet menya, chernyy, kak yama, ot polyusa do polyusa, ya blagodaryu lyubykh bogov, dlya moyey nepobedimoy dushi.โ
(Out of the night that covers me, black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. You snuggle deeper, the feel of hot tears stinging your eyes as he finishes the next verse. After letting out a shuddering breath you lift your eyes to his, finishing off the last two verses in a broken whisper; โbeyond this place of wrath and tears, looms but the Horror of the shade, and yet the menace of the years, finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, how charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.โ
This was a poem he had read to you many times before, one he himself found solace in and it meant so much that he shared it with you. A small smile tugs at the corner of his mouth and he dips his head, lightly brushing his nose along your skin and kissing you gently.
His eyes remain closed and his lips soft against your skin as he murmurs; โpustโ moye serdtse budet samym myagkim mestom, kuda ty upadesh,โ pustโ eta lyubovโ budet samym dikim mestom, kuda ty bezhishโโ

You lift your hand and lay it over his steadily beating heart, holding it there as your breathing becomes more even and in sync with his. Again, he speaks words of comfort, special to both you and him.
Alpine slides down Buckyโs arm and nuzzles your head, his light purrs vibrating soothingly across your skin. You feel Bucky shift and scratch the fluffy cat, muttering words of praise.
The sweet softness of the setting sun dances across the floor and the curtains billow free with the fragrant spring breeze. You blink in the light, stirring slowly against Buckyโs body and stretching out. His dog tags dangle along his chest and you absentmindedly fiddle with the cool metal, sliding them between your fingers.
โDo you think we can take a bath?โ you ask quietly.
His warm fingers lift your chin and he holds your gaze, his eyes filled with a love so deep it nearly steals your breath.
โPause, breathe, be here with me, itโs all I want, itโs all I need, just this.โ (-also from Wild Spirit, Soft Heart- Butterflies Rising).
The words fall softly from his lips, the tenderness of his voice and the familiar healing verse of another favorite poem sweeping you further away to your safe place.
With ease he cradles you in his arms and stands, walking to the bathroom and carefully placing you down to run the bath and gather your favorite bubbles. Once the water is warm and soapy he removes your blanket and helps you undress.
His eyes never stray from yours as his hands and fingers work reverently over your increasingly exposed skin with the gentlest touch. He helps you into the bath and quickly takes off his clothes, sliding in behind you and wrapping you in his arms.
You lay back against his chest, letting your fingertips glide down his metal arm and chase the bubbles. Alpineโs blue eyes appear over the edge of the tub and you see his tail swishing back and forth with the readiness to pounce.
Thankfully, you pull your hand back just before his paw swipes at Buckyโs arm to attack the bubbles. You let out a small giggle and feel Buckyโs body shake with his own laughter.
โI love you both so much,โ you whisper, titling your head back to look up at him.
He leans down and delicately kisses your eyelids then lifts your hand to his mouth and kisses along your knuckles. His lips meet your palm before he places it against his cheek and whispers โI love you more than life,โ into a kiss.

โHey doll face, you okay?โ Bucky asks sweetly as he throws an arm around your shoulder and pulls you into his warm body.
You nod and give him one of your best smiles because you donโt like to worry him. In reality, youโre not okay and havenโt been since you went public with your relationship and unfortunately attracted a lot of people who enjoyed making your life a misery. You didnโt want to burden Bucky with these problems, you feared he would tell you it was ridiculous to get so upset and hurt over a strangerโs opinion of you.
Distancing yourself from your phone was easier said than done because you still had family and real friends who you liked to keep in touch with and see what they were up to. The trolls still made their way through to your comments, despite you switching your accounts to private you still managed to accumulate a lot of followers. To say it was a massive headache would be an understatement.
Bucky kisses your forehead and you snuggle in closer as the movie plays on the tv in the background. Your eyes are fixated on his toes wiggling as his warmth cradles you.
Being here right now, reminds you of how safe you really are from everybody who wishes nothing but misery for you.
โI love you.โ You mumble into his chest. Your palm lays over his heart.
โI love you more doll face.โ
Itโs a brand new day and youโre determined not to let anyone or anything bring you down. The sun is shining over the city and thereโs a slight bounce in your step as you walk down the sidewalk towards your favourite coffee shop.
The coffee shop isnโt busy, thereโs a few businessmen and women occupying some of the tables with their morning coffee and croissants. You move to the counter, already knowing what youโre going to order and the barista smiles as she prepares your drink. The hairs on the back of your neck stand up suddenly as you stand patiently. The feeling of dread washes over you, as though someone is watching you. Itโs a feeling you canโt shake, you know youโre a target for the jealous haters. But as you look over your shoulder, thereโs nobody there but thereโs a persistent vibration on your phone alerting you of a notification that you ignore. You become more anxious, tapping your foot against the tiles and hoping the barista wonโt take too long with your drink.
You hate to admit it but the walk back to your apartment was terrifying. Constantly looking over your shoulder, afraid of bumping into someone or being ambushed by a group of fangirls who once threatened to do so. All these problems and you still couldnโt face telling Bucky what was going on, even if he does offer the best advice.
You put your coffee cup on the desk and shrug off your jacket. You open your laptop and check your emails, then your social media accounts. Immediately as you do your heart drops into your stomach. More DM requests from people with threats, hate, and just vile messages.
You start to shake and sigh, closing the lid on your laptop and pushing it away from you. Your head falls into your hands as you try to not let them win.
You honestly have no idea what to do about these internet trolls because it doesnโt seem to matter what you do or say, thereโs always someone who hates what you do and feels the need to express their much unwanted opinions.
You could be the nicest person in the world and theyโll find something either with your hair colour, hairstyle, the outfit youโre wearing, if you have a headache itโs your own fault. You were wedged between a rock and a hard place and have been for weeks, simply for falling in love with the most loveliest man on this earth. But the hate is not getting better and the insults are becoming more hurtful with each passing day.
A tear escapes just as the front door to your apartment swings open and Bucky calls out for you. Your attempts to wipe the tears away were in vain because Bucky caught you just as you swiped the sleeve of your sweater across your face. His face dropped and so did yours.
โBaby girl? Whatโs going on?โ Heโs so concerned. He knows something is up but never wanted to push the subject too far. He steps closer, his warmth immediately pulls you to him, itโs your safe space. He rubs his hands up and down your back to soothe you before leading you over to the couch. His thumb catches another tear as you exhale a shaky breath.
โItโs uhm- itโs so stupid Buck.โ Youโre defeated and Bucky can tell.
โItโs not stupid if itโs making my best girl upset. Please baby, please tell me so I can help you.โ
His words are enough to encourage you to spill the problems from your lips. You tell him everything thatโs been going on and for how long. The kind of messages and threats youโre receiving. The whole time heโs comforting you, holding you and just listening with no judgement or sarcastic comments. You feared he wouldnโt take it seriously and heโs doing the opposite.
Thereโs a long pause before he speaks again. Heโs enraged that people could be so cruel to someone they havenโt even met. Especially to someone as kind, lovely and special as you. Youโre his everything and heโs going to protect you no matter what.
Bucky pulls you into his chest and kisses the top of your hair.
โI wanna kill โem!.โ He growls, โbut they donโt deserve the attention from us doll.โ He pulls away so he can look you in the eyes, his hands cradle your face as his thumbs catch more falling tears.
โListen to me doll, Iโm an avenger and nobody is coming for you.โ He smiles with reassurance. โI love you so much and weโll get through this together.โ Your arms tighten around his midsection and kiss his chin. โIf itโs one bit of advice I can offer you it would be to delete everything so you donโt have to deal with that. Itโs you and me against the world and we're a team.โ
โYou and me against the world.โ You repeat, feeling as though the weight of the world was officially lifted off your shoulders.
Bucky holds out his pinky finger and you chuckle, your pinkies join and he winks.
โPinky promise. Now, let me run you a nice hot bath and weโll order food and watch any movie you wanna watch!โ
โSounds perfect.โ You smile, genuinely smile for the first time since the ordeal. โEven Jaws?โ You pout, hoping itโll be enough to persuade him.
โEven- even-.โ He sighs and chuckles, โEven Jaws.โ
