Kiara smiled as he said that. “That’s good. Everyone should be close to at least one parent.” She explained, but she wasn’t. Both parents practically disowned her. She hid the way she felt about that behind her rebellion and crazy lifestyle so she never had time to think about it. “You know, this is a very boring party. Why don’t we have a little fun and give them some entertainment.” She said with a wink.

Barrel agreed completley with her. Although he wasn't close with his dad and that pained him, he was glad he had his mother. As she said the party was boring, he couldn't help but totally agree. A sigh left his lips as he chuckled and nodded. Then as she mentioned entertainment, his curiosity spiked and he beamed at the girl. "Yeah! Let's! What should we do? Anything in mind?"

Kiara shrugged and leaned against the wall next to him. “Most of the time I love being parentless, and having complete control of my life… But I do miss having parents in my life you know?” She explained, looking at the crowd of people in the distance. They were in the corner of the room, completely hidden in the shadows. “What about you? Are you close to your parents?”

Barrel glanced over at her as she leaned against the wall. "Yeah, I know." He mumbled softly as he stared down at his feet. He did know how it felt to not have a parent but he wouldn't want to admit just how much it hurt. At her question, he nodded and tried to smile. "Parent but yeah, my mom. She's the best  one I could ask for."

Kiara had a rebellious smile on her face at the thought of her parents. “Well they use to check up on me. That’s when I started to rebel.” She explained easily. “I got out of control and they tried everything they could. Eventually they grew embarrassed and became sick of me. Sending me here made things easier for them so they never have to see me again.” Kiara held anger in her voice at the thought of them. They haven’t called her once while she was here. “But its alright now. They don’t see me, I don’t see them. Its a win win situation.”

Barrel nodded as he listened to her words. Honestly, he couldn't even imagine a life without his mother, he couldn't see it and didn't even want to think about it but this girl seemed happy without hers so he figured there was no use expressing that. Instead he only listened to her story, interested in learning more about her. "I see. So you like it that way?" He asked.

Kiara slightly smirked at his answer, tilting her head at him as if she were trying to read him. “Ahhh, so you are a mysterious one.” She commented, pushing off the wall and gliding over to him. “My parents definitely wouldn’t approve… But that just makes it all the more fun.” She shrugged lazily. She could hear yelling in the distance, most likely that woman still trying to find them.

A laugh fell from Barrel's lips as she called him a mysterious one. "Yeah, you could say." He replied and giggled at her words about her parents not approving. "Do they check up on you or something?" He asked curiously, remembering that she said her parents sent her there because she was rebellious. "Or did you guys all move here?"

I've been spending the last few days plotting and now, I think it's finally perfect.

"No I look for shapes in them. I like it. Better than dealing in Huffalumps or Woozles." It was one of Eeyore’s favorite activities.

"A what?"

"I guess that could be pretty fun." At the mention of the Huffalumps and Woozles, Barrel's curiosity was spiked again. He'd heard of them but he'd never actually seen one. "What're they like? What do they look like?"

"Well I was just wondering how it rained in someone's head. It didn't make sense but you just mean you're sad, right? I was thinking that you were imagining like a rain cloud all the time-" Barrel cut himself off, most of the time his stupid rambles were called out so he only smiled and shrugged.

Kiara fully agreed with him. “Yeah, good is boring. I want more adventures and fun.” She said with a big smile. “So, are you one of those bad boys that parents warn their daughters about?” She asked with a raised eyebrow. He obviously looked the part, but he was really nice towards her so she didn’t think he was that bad. At least he wasn’t one of those jerky bad guys.

Hearing she wanted more adventures made Barrel smile widely, he wouldn't want to be stuck hanging out with someone that didn't want adventure or fun. At her question, Barrel just smirked and shrugged. "I don't know, I can be, depends on the day and how I'm feeling and who it is." Honestly, Barrel knew he probably was one of those guys but he didn't know for sure so he went with the answer that made the most sense to him.

A’right, boy-o. I be trustin’ ya. Well, if ya do dey are not as forgivin’ as Mama Laveau be. E’ry god has a certain way o’.. killin’. Some eat ya up, others mess wit’ ya or Papa Legba will jus’ grant ya bad luck for all eternity. Who knows what dey might do.

In that case, I'll try my best to not uh, disturb them or anything like that. Is there something they really don't like? You know, so I can avoid it because death, being eaten and years of bad luck don't exactly sound like something I'd love.

I'm so, so sorry I haven't been on these past few days. Things got really busy with life and I wasn't able to be on but I'll be on later tonight after I get home and shouldn't be disappearing anymore anytime soon.

Kiara smile at his words. “Yeah, that’s true. I do enjoy going to parties and getting drunk.” She said with a small smirk, thinking about how much fun she always had. “No, I guess I don’t. I hate doing what people tell me, and what is normal and proper for society. Being bad is great.” Kiara laughed lightly.

"Exactly." Barrel replied with a confident smile when she agreed with him. "Well you don't have to be if you don't want to be. I mean, I could be good to but what's the point? I don't enjoy it so I don't." A nod came from him as she said she hated doing what people told her and he couldn't help but laugh. "It is, a lot more adventurous and a lot less of the same old stuff."

"Eeyore’s like cloud watching." He informed. 

"It always feels like it’s raining anyway, a real rain cloud over my head doesn’t make much difference." He informed in classic emo Eeyore language.

Barrel had never thought of it that way but hearing that caused him to smile and nod. "Yeah, I guess you've kind of got a point there. Doesn't cloud watching get boring sometimes though?"

As he heard the next line, it took him a minute to piece together what the other male meant but not before asking a few questions first. "Wait, what do you mean by that? Do you have like a- ohhh, never mind."

'Course I am. Why would Mama lie 'bout somet'in' so serious? Nah, I'm gon' aks again. Ya sure ya can handle? Dah gods don' like a lil' boy who can' control 'imself.

I'm positive, I can handle it. I won't upset them, promise. What happens if I do though? What do the gods do anyway? What would be not controlling myself?

Kiara shook her head. “No, not once did I give in to their pressuring. I was only doing this to get back at my parents, not actually succumb into doing things like that.” She explained with a sigh. “On the inside im really a ‘Good’ girl.”

Barrel nodded a little at her words. "Well you know, sometimes they're not all bad things. They can be fun and stuff and if somethings fun I don't see why people shouldn't do it." As she said she was a good girl, he shrugged. "Do you want to be a good girl? I can't see that being much fun, being good all the time must get really old really fast but if that's how you are then that's how you are."

Well no, not really. I'm just curious as to why someone would pick that over something like causing trouble or something else fun.

Kiara leaned against the wall and shrugged lightly. “I guess there were a few, but not much. They always tried to force me into doing things with them that I didn’t like.” She explained, thinking back to all the times they tried to get her to smoke or do other certain things. It wasn’t the best way to grow up, but it was her fault anyway.

As she leaned against the wall, Barrel moved to do the same, crossing his arms over his chest as he listened to her speak. He wondered what it was like to grow up in Beverly Hills and how he would've been if he grew up there but didn't ask anything. As she said people forced her to do things she didn't like, he couldn't help but question it. "Did you end up doing it?"
