“if this karaoke thing goes on much longer i think i’m going to explode,” nebula groans, speaking to the stranger beside her with no hesitation. people listened to her in space. it seemed earth was no different.

“What’s wrong with karaoke?” The question asked as her brows raised, arms folded across her chest. “Doesn’t everyone enjoy a little sing song every now and then?” She knew she did, that Joel did, he was the reason behind the love she now had for it.

“hey you!” alex called out to the male as she practically hopped her way over. last she saw him, he was extremely off. “want to hang out with me? i’m planning to go to the ice cream museum. i’m not a fan of museums, but this has ice cream so i want to go and you just so happen to cross my path. also, you seem cool and i don’t say that about a lot of people.” // @bartmvn· ( bucky barnes )

bucky had made a habit of being outside the library, hoping maybe he’d remember just one more detail that would set him straight. semi familiar voice snapping him out of his concentration, plates in the metal arm whirring as they pressed back into place at his fright. “jesus-” he huffs, hand over his chest, “you scared the crap outta me.... museum?” bucky hadn’t been to a museum since... well, he can’t remember. “yeah... okay.”

“i suppose,” finally her attention is trained on the unfamiliar. “hard to say when they decide to wipe out half of the planet and lose their head.” the idea of a casual conversation obviously wasn’t too tangible.

“i wouldn’t know,” she shrugs. music was such a common place theme with the guardians that she was rather used to it by now. though never endeared by Quill’s awful singing. “don’t people do this professionally for a reason?”

as the girl picked out the book, lydia couldn’t help but be curious about the resemblance this girl had with cora. blinking a few times until the other spoke about her hair, “oh, my hair color? i mean, science says so.” she glanced at the ends of her hair then back at the other, “you look an awful like someone i know..”

“hmm.” she nods, taking a moment to look over the colour she’d seen so seldom before now. “is that a bad thing?” nebula truly knew little when it came to interpreting people’s feelings. “where i come from i don’t even look like me.”

“nice to meet you, josh.” emily grinned before shrugging her shoulders, “i don’t know, i just enjoy coming to the cafe at night. i’m a night owl, basically. and it’s usually comfortable and cozy for some reason.” glancing around the place, she glanced back at the male, “how about you? seems like we have time to kill due to the storm outside.”

she didn’t seem like the type to value the darkness, but then again, neither did he. “i have nightmares... sleep is too much to deal with.” he figures he may as well be honest, no longer having anything to lose. “i’m three days awake at this point.”

realizing that she bought max ice cream and technically bought her some fries, her cheeks turned into a bright pink color before shrugging and smiling, “well, i’ve been doing a lot of traveling lately. decided to settle down here and away from my hometown. just trying to be a good person by volunteering and such!” taking another fry, she popped it right into her mouth, “funny, since staying here i never got the chance to do the touristy new york stuff… we should totally do it when you’re not studying!! I even have a film camera with me and we could take pictures!”

“you volunteer..” she hums, nodding along with the conversation. heather truly was a nice girl, and max found those far and few between in her experience. “i’ve lived here so long, don’t think i’ve done that stuff since i was a kid. sure, i’ll bite.”

damn internet ruining things for her. sid shrugged her shoulders. “i’m sure there’s more interesting things happening back there now.” she shook her head, a smirk tugged at her lips. “nothing? i dunno about that. the people who did it for you were a lot more inventive. better at trying too. killed more people.”

“and yet-” nothing could ruin this for him, if anything, it only reassured him that she was still fearful. “the numbers don’t matter, do they? no one got as close, as personal. they looked to me for inspiration, if anything, i’m flattered.” rising to his feet, he steps toward her with one confident stride. “i ruined you, sid. and everybody knows it.”

this wasn’t particularly a conversation she wished to have. cissy had come to care for petunia a great deal, developing feelings for her rather quickly. which was why she had to be honest. “hey uh… there’s something we need to talk about.” narcissa mused with a grimace. @bartmvn·

something had felt off all damn day, the women she’d grown fond of fiddling and absent in their conversation. had she done something wrong? that seemed the most likely explanation. “yes?” stomach churning, petunia crosses her legs and frowns.

emily shook her head before nervously smiling. “uh, no. i’m kinda new to this, to a lot of things really. back home… such things didn’t exist. phones were different things, not like those.” she gestured towards the small, slim smart phone. 

“are you from the 70s?” this being the only time frame she knew somewhat about, she figured it was worth a shot. “i’ve yet to meet someone on earth who doesn’t recognise a smart phone. i just learnt how to use them, myself.”

ariel could tell the other was less than fine. hence why she decided to remain by him. “nope! just me!” she mused with a soft smile towards him. she glanced up towards the moon as he brought his attention to it. “yes it is! it’s beautiful, isn’t it?” ariel hummed softly.

letting his attention be captured by the light, he feels his breathing ease. still, he couldn’t be sure if he imagined her to bring himself comfort. “...what’s your name?” ignoring her question was easy, the buzz in his ears drowning it out.

“some chick?” she playfully wiggled her brows at her friend, lacing their fingers together as she held her close. max truly was her best friend. “when’s the wedding?” jane taunted with a smile. “ew, gross.” her nose turned up a little before she smiled fondly. “thank you! i knew i liked you for a reason.” she taunted. “are you totally off popcorn now? because i thought we could have a movie night.”

“eugh,” she grimaces. marriage was such a foreign idea to max, seeing her parents break up had thrown her off it entirely. “is it ask stupid questions day? no wedding, yes popcorn.” rolling her eyes, she looks jane over fondly. “you tryna netflix and chill me?”

the temptation to hit him in the face was very high. sidney let out a soft scoff as she looked at him. “legend? billy, everyone stopped talking about you once other people took up the handle of ghostface.” only relatively true. “you’re nothing special. you weren’t the only ones who tried to kill me.” maybe she attracted the wrong kind.  

“i know it may not look like it-” finally he gazes at her, drinking in her appearance in the daylight. “but i can read. the internet has become a wonderful thing.” legacy, his legacy had haunted her in the time he couldn’t. “copy cats,” he hisses, teeth bared to the world as he growls. “you know nothing compares to the original...”

bev nods and offers a small smile. “no worries.” due to the fact she could remember her past; she was well aware of the fact she struggled to make friends with other females. mostly because they had tormented beverly. “nice to meet you, max. i’m beverly. or bev, whichever you’d prefer.”

“nice to meet you, bev,” shrugging her jacket off her shoulders, max puffs her cigarette down quickly, as if it would be her last. “you been here long? swear i’d remember your face..” though she was guilty of being forgetful, the trouble of a socialite.

“How about a race?” The thought what reminded him of KJ, how the two once skated through the safety of the pristine mall. But the thought of her what he quickly pushed away. “From one side of Central Park to the other, what do you say?” His board placed onto the ground before him, the sole of his high top being pressed down atop the three crowns carved in. “Or are you afraid you’ll lose? ‘Cause I am pretty pro, so no one would blame you.”

“you’re kidding, right?” the redhead snorts, dropping her board to her feet immediately. competition was one way to get her attention, and it certainly worked. “i’m not afraid of anything.” a confident smirk consumes her features as she counts down from three. “GO!”

seeing him here wasn’t all that shocking considering that she had already run into sam, but the blonde still hadn’t been prepared for her dead friends showing up. she was still a little out of the loop when it came to josh, since she’d yet to ask sam what had really happened and hadn’t been there to witness any of it, but she knew that he hadn’t made it off the mountain. “yeah. josh?” she wasn’t sure what to do, whether she should hug him or not, so she found herself standing still. “hey. are you alright? when did you get here?”

she didn’t know... of course she didn’t know. what happened to jess was not part of the plan. the wendigos... his sister. heavy hearted, and before he can even comprehend his movements, his arms are around her. “i...-” god he felt ill, the bile in his throat leaving a rising burn. she was really here. she was alive. “yeah, i’m fine... you’re okay?” dark eyes frantic as he pulls back to look her over, secretly looking for scars. “you’re here.”
