Something like this would be so colossally helpful. I'm sick and tired of trying to research specific clothing from any given culture and being met with either racist stereotypical costumes worn by yt people or ai generated garbage nonsense, and trying to be hyper specific with searches yields fuck all. Like I generally just cannot trust the legitimacy of most search results at this point. It's extremely frustrating. If there are good resources for this then they're buried deep under all the other bullshit, and idk where to start looking.
>:)c
May I present to you, nationalclothing.org?
It doesn't have everything, but it's still my first source when researching traditional clothing from other cultures.
There's also this resource on historical fashion: Claire’s Historical Fashion Reference & Resources
another addition as far as physical media goes there is the encyclopedia of national dress (that i still need to buy myself bc this kind of thing is super important to my sort of fantasy designing) but yes i do agree i wish there was EVEN MORE documentation on this
here are some resources for Indian clothing archives:
The Sari Series: a digital anthology documenting India's regional saree drapes though short films
Purushu Arie's blog; started when he was studying at NIFT, the blogger has gone on to become a leader in the neo-traditional fashion scene in India.
if anyone knows more please add links !

I...tried to make a meme and got carried away and made A Thing that is like partially unfinished because i spent like 3 hours on it and then got tired.
I think this is mostly scientifically accurate but truth be told, there seems to be relatively little research on succession in regards to lawns specifically (as opposed to like, pastures). I am not exaggerating how bad they are for biodiversity though—recent research has referred to them as "ecological deserts."

some of you may've heard about that fancy "bionic reading" typefont thats supposed to be easier for neurodivergent people to read (if you're unfamiliar, it bolds the first few letters of each word to make it easier to follow)
well guess what, its locked behind a $500 a month API to write in because fuck you!
introducing, Not Bionic Reading! it is literally just the bionic reading typefont but for free. god bless neocities
Tech bros are on another world just make a framework like the rest of us.
anyone who can, pls reblog!
all queer history on here is just US-American or maybe sometimes some UK history as well and it makes me sad that there’s so little information about other countries’ queer history on here :(
@makingqueerhistory has some diversity, as of historical queer people, and they’re doing a great job, but there’s a lot of work ahead.
OP is definitely right, there still is a huge gap in the discussions of queer history, and thank you for recommending us!
This isn’t perfect, and many of these only have one article, but here is our list of countries we have written about. We are hoping to one day have at least one article for every country in the world but as @every-book-has-a-secret there is a lot of work still to do.

I’d like to add Tom Of Finland (Touko Valio Laaksonen), the one who drew those erotic pictures of muscular men clad in leather, to the Finnish list.
Some say that Tom Of Finland was the father for the leather gay movement.
PERUVIAN QUEER HISTORY???? God, I love this site
[ID: The Chris Fleming “was anybody going to tell me” meme. A person standing in front of a brick wall speaks, with the captions edited to read, “Okay, was anybody going to tell me that my country has queer history I would’ve adored to know before, or was I just supposed to learn it from a wholesome Tumblr post myself?”]
the secret to life is to always use more spinach and less rice than you think you’ll need
the second secret to life is that fresh air warm sun and a cup of tea will make your problems small enough to start handling
the third secret to life is that violence sometimes really is the answer
how do you know if someone truly loves you if they were Bound by blood to serve you? how do you love someone when time and again they have barred you from making your own decisions? and how do you make two stubborn assholes get over themselves for long enough to admit that they love each other - and, just as importantly, you?
a queer polyamorous story about a prince, his dragon, and their future queen.
unapologetically queer, horny and gender-fucky. full to the brim with chaotic bi energy.

[DJ khalid voice] ANOTHER ONE
Scientists chained themselves to the White House fence, blocked bridges and occupied buildings. Dozens were arrested.
"... “I’m taking action because I feel desperate,” said U.S. climate scientist Peter Kalmus, who along with several others locked himself to the front door of a JPMorgan Chase building in Los Angeles. A recent report found that the financial giant is the biggest private funder of oil and gas initiatives in the world.
“It’s the 11th hour in terms of Earth breakdown, and I feel terrified for my kids, and terrified for humanity,” Kalmus continued. “World leaders are still expanding the fossil fuel industry as fast as they can, but this is insane. The science clearly indicates that everything we hold dear is at risk, including even civilization itself and the wonderful, beautiful, cosmically precious life on this planet. I actually don’t get how any scientist who understands this could possibly stay on the sidelines at this point.” ..."
Rūrangi (2020).
A trans man reunites with his ex-boyfriend. ID in alt.
For a review of Rūrangi, see this link. It's a movie about being trans, being Māori, discovering your sexuality, being exhausted by activism, and reconnecting with family. It was originally released as a series, but was re-released as a feature film later.
Caz, the trans protagonist, is played by a trans male actor (Elz Carrad). All trans characters are played by trans actors. The writer (Cole Meyers) is trans. Tweedie Waititi, Taika Waititi's sister, was brought in as a consultant to develop the film's Māori storylines.
I highly recommend this film.
literally my favourite short series. please watch it if you haven't
Because I failed to include this in the original post, here's where you can access it!
SBS On Demand:

NEON:

Apple TV/iTunes:
£9.99.

Depends on location, may require VPN.
I would personally recommend accessing Rūrangi through legal means (purchasing it or watching it through a streaming subscription), because it deserves your money and clicks. Not only was a trans man cast in the central role, but 59% of the cast and crew were non-binary, and the motto of the film is "by us and about us". If anything deserves your hard-earned dollars, it's Rūrangi. They set out to make a good movie, and they managed to do that while employing members of our community. Beyond the groundbreaking representation and behind-the-scenes inclusivity, it's just... a genuinely touching, watchable production.
But! I know that not everybody can afford to pay for media. If you can, please do ❤️
