Scarlett, this morning you started crying saying you miss your grandpa. At only four years old you were emotional because you remembered I said he was in the hospital. It’s tough for me how to explain he’s no longer with us. I want you to know no matter what your grandpa loves you with all his heart and knows how you are beautiful person.

My view of Disney is distorted as I’ve interacted with the teams there when it comes to products and merchandise. As a money making machine tonight I saw something I never expected.

The look on my daughter’s face…. The pure innocence of seeing the castle and the fireworks tonight is a memory I will always have. I love you Scarlett.

Every day I would wish my kids would be able to do the next thing. Wait for them to sleep, wait for the first tooth, wait for the next step….

Now that my daughter is three she is starting to read, her personality is showing, and becoming more independent. I still remember the time I would walk down the steps and she would say papa. It was only last year…. Now she’s snowboarding down the mountain. Has friends and wants to negotiate.

Time truly flies. I know me father would be in love with the kids. I know they would love him back.

Miss you dad. Your grandkids are growing up fast and you would be proud of them.

Scarlett, this is a story of you before I left for my business trip last week. It was Sunday and I was going away for over a week. After breakfast I started packing and you wanted to come. You were so cute. I started packing my bag and you rolled up this small mat you use for sleep and your bunny. You brought it to me as I was packing saying, “airplane, airplane” in Chinese. It was so cute. You wanted to come with me and thought we were seeing your grandma.

When I went downstairs I you started to play with me. I’m not sure if you knew you weren’t coming but you put your chairs down and asked me to sit down. I sat down and you brought your bucket or plastic play food and handed me one. It make me sad thinking I would travel without you.

The day kept going, and your momma had you in bed to take your nap. It was hard for you to nap but I still went into the room to kiss you to say goodbye. When I did you held my arm.

It’s moments like this I will always cherish my daughter. I love you.

Scarlett and Nicolas. I wish you could have met your grandpa.

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything here. Now it’s time to write this for my loving daughter and my son who will be here any day now.

To my children. Take care of your mother. She loves you with all her heart and will always do what’s best for you. I know that one day it may not seem like it but remember in the she loves you and would sacrifice anything for both of you.

Scarlett, you are the kindest person and so happy that you are my daughter. Be strong and do better than me. Don’t be afraid of say no and stay strong always.

Son, to b honest I haven’t picked name yet. Don’t worry. I’ve been thinking long and hard for a name for you. You are the man of the family and carrying you grandfathers name. He was an amazing man. Strongest man I’ve ever know and loves you with all his heart.

This is to my family and I love all of you. I can’t wait to have all of us together.

Dear Scarlett, my hope is that one day you will read this to know who I am. Your grandfather passed away. I thought I knew him. It wasn’t until a week after when I read his autobiography on the computer he used did I really get to know him.

I’ve been through a lot Scarlett and want you to know that I love you and your mom very much. Maybe I’m like your grandfather and do not know how to show how much you both mean to me. I’m sorry if this is the case and know it wasn’t meant to be this way. You’re a beautiful girl and smart. Always remember you can do a thing you want and you will also make mistakes in life. Don’t be afraid of those mistakes. Learn from them and become stronger. I’ve been on this business trip for 4 days know and will come home to see you again. I miss you and your mom and can’t wait to see you soon my baby girl. Always love your mom and take care of her. She always wants what is best for you. Remember that.

On the eve of my birthday I lay here thinking about my dad. I wonder how he felt when I was born. I think at the things I did that hurt him and wish I could have taken back my actions. I know he wouldn’t want me to be sad. My dad never laid guilt trips on us. I just wish he knew that he was a grandfather and that he has a beautiful granddaughter and soon to have a grandson.

On the eve of Father’s Day 2022 I can’t help think about my dad. I spent his last Father’s Day with him in ICU. He had a pipe in his throat to help him breathe. At the time it was hard for me to accept he wasn’t going go pull through and we truly didn’t know at what point he would be better. I know that I wouldn’t be anywhere but next to his side. It was hard to see the man who made me who was, was weak and I couldn’t help him. I remember hearing the machines beep and it just didn’t seem like he was getting better. We were all there to encourage him but deep down inside it made me sad to see him the way he was. I hope I made my dad happy spending time with him. There was no other place I would have rather been but next to him so that he didn’t feel alone.

We are going to have the family here to celebrate my dad’s birthday. My sister’s family and my mom are flying in. It will be the first time the whole immediate family will be together. We’re really excited and can’t wait for everyone to be here to celebrate. We love and miss you Dad.

Scarlett, I hope one day when you are older with a family you can read these stories about me, your father. You’re still a baby right now, about 20 months old and so full of energy. When I look at you I still can’t believe that I’ve been blessed with you in my life. I’ve been through a lot Scarlett and to be where I am today is nothing short of a miracle. Your grandpa passed away a year before meeting you. I want you to know that no matter how hard things are in your life you will always have the support of your family. Even after i am long gone and you have family of your own you our love for you will never end.

Every night I put my daughter to sleep. Scarlett, when you born you were always crying. At the time you we didn’t know what was wrong. Eventually we learned to just take care of you. You are quite normal and so strong. Now that you are older I wonder when you’ll start talking with us. You’re just about there.

I really hope one day you can read all of this when you are older. I always want you to know we love you. We are really doing our best to raise you to be happy and strong. Always know that no matter how tough things get in life you will always get through it. You come from a two families that overcame adversity. You will continue on. I love you Scarlett.

Hey Dad. I hope you can see us right now. We think about you everyday and thank you for everything you did for us. You grand daughter is growing so big. I can imagine the smile on your face when you see her. She’s a great girl dad. You would be so proud of her. She’s smart, strong, and your grand daughter. We talk about you to her and remind her that we wouldn’t be here without you.

Mom is here with us. She missed you too dad and never forgets you. You were the world to her and she struggles everyday without you. We are doing our best to make her happy. I’m going to leave some photos of your grand daughter dad. She loves you and thank you for always looking after us.

It’s been two years since my father passed away. The past few weeks I think about the struggles he went through at the hospital and how he died alone. My father deserved more than that because of the type of man he is. I miss you dad. The whole family does. We love you and will not forget what you did for our family.

Baby Scarlett just went to sleep. At 8 months old she has become a real handful. She can crawl, has been eating solids and overall the most curious baby ever. She’s all of a sudden afraid of taking bath which we are trying to figure out. She’s a funny girl. I wish I could spend more time with her. I work during the day in the house doing stuff I hate.

Today i had a dream about my dad. I’m writing this so I don’t forget. It’s only the second dream I’ve had since he passed.

It started about a dream about the house we are building in Las Vegas. Because of so many delays we’ve been anxious. In the dream we went to find the framing was up. There was somewhat of an obnoxious neighbor next door already.

We were walking through and received a warning from the builder not be in the house without an appointment. I agreed and said I understood. I walked around the house and started to go down from the second floor to the first floor foyer. I remember seeing a Christmas tree and the old parque flooring my dad would put in. It was clean and shiny. I thought to myself I didn’t order these but they are fine. Reminds me of my dad. Then I heard someone that sounded like me dad say, “Robert, and I believe he said it looks good and walked away... at the moment I felt he was a step dad saying it to me. I came down the stairs and remember saying to myself thanks for everything dad. It wasn’t until I woke up I realized it was my dad talking to me in the dream.

I’m not a believer of dreams but I do think it’s our brain processing ideas and thoughts. Earlier that night I though how much I wanted to hear his voice.

Happy new year dad. We called mom. She misses you. We love and miss you.
