if we draft stenberg what line do you think he should mainly be on! id pray that he’d work super good with mack but who knows

I personally want him on the 2nd line with Misa/Eklund. Here's my thought process:

I'm a *really* big fan of Igor Chernyshov, and I've been saying for a while now that he was the missing piece the first line needed. Cherny is a 6' 2", close to 200lb left winger. He's a power forward who's very responsible defensively, with decent speed and a hard shot. And he's got a pretty good hockey IQ too.

The chemistry already looks great with him on the same line as Will & Mack, and I understand why. His play style complements theirs *perfectly*. He's good on both the forecheck and the backcheck, forcing turnovers & creating openings for his incredibly offensively-skilled linemates to take advantage of.

Will in particular should see a huge improvement with Cherny on his line, since Cherny plays a lot like Leno. Cherny will help cover the defensive weaknesses in Will's game, so Will is free to make those absolutely gorgeous plays he's best known for. With all three of them possessing elite handling & passing skills & powerful shots, it genuinely makes me giddy to think of just how good this line could be.

Now imagine Stenberg on Misa's line with Eky. Misa & Stenberg both have good speed (Misa especially. I didn't realise just how fast he was until I saw him skate in person) and Eky & Stenberg have great hands. All three of them would be a nightmare to defend against. You'd have to contend with speed, creativity, solid defensive play, deception, slick passing & manuevering... Yeah, I see the vision.

Most truly great teams have amazing 1st & 2nd lines. (Look at what the Canes just did in the playoffs with 3 excellent centers.) If you play your best defense against Celebrini, which you HAVE to, then what do you do against the Eky/Stenberg/Misa line? It would cause massive headaches for opponents.

They'd be idiots if they didn't put Stenberg on PP1 with Will & Mack, because that trio would be nasty. And yeah, I can see a world where it's just too tempting not to play Stenberg on that first line with Will & Mack. Maybe their chemistry winds up being better in the end, and the three of them are an unstoppable force for years.

Boo hoo, then we have to put Cherny on Misa's line and ... guess what? Cherny & Misa played on the Saginaw Spirit together & freaking *dominated*.

THIS is why I want Stenberg. It opens up tons of line combo options for the Sharks. Warso can mix & match until he finds that perfect blend, and then we're really cooking.
