how can I leave when I know what's out there?
it's like i dont even want to talk about it but do you remember when they rebooted the karate kid franchise to be about the bully from the first movie who was now a poor washed up alcoholic deadbeat dad and gave him the craziest pyrrhic victory where he got everything he ever wanted and thought would fix his life (beating daniel larusso at the all valley under 18 karate tournament once and for all) but the only thing that happened was his worst nightmare and abusive father figure wandered back in and also he realized that his victory only pushed him further away from his son (symbolic of how him clinging to this fight and this loss through three decades only alientated him from his actual support network and destroyed his real relationships) and now he knows that beating daniel larusso never would've fixed anything and he has to do the hard work of growing and changing on his own but with his life in worse condition than its ever been in? and also he's bisexual?
and that's not even getting into the terry silver/daniel larusso grooming allegations.
crazy to me the amount of ck fans who have refused to see truth this long (robby keene is a woman)
hottest thing a character can do is have this dream that theyre hitting their dad with a baseball bat & he is screaming & crying for help & maybe halfway through it has more to do with them killing him than it ever did protecting themselves
are you kidding me.
i know jacob already said this in his stream w dallas but hearing griffin and dallas ACTUALLY confirm that kenny and anthony were supposed to be a couple in their original storylineβ¦.
this raises sooo many questions for me. when was this storyline changed?? was it before season 4 filming, or before season 5? was it a last minute change before season 6?? could that be one of the reasons 6x01 was rewritten and refilmed?
most importantly, WHY was it changed?
anthony and kenny were 100% supposed to be the queer representation one of the creators teased about and what the show desperately needed. i love all (most) of the couples in the show, donβt get me wrong. however the show just sometimes feels TOO straight if that makes sense. it honestly needed just one queer couple to balance it out and it wouldβve been fine. just a slightly different perspective on things. they didnβt even have to go into any homophobic themes if they didnβt want to; just a sweet, angsty enemies to lovers trope. and anthony and kenny wouldβve fit the bill perfectly.
so why get rid of the only queer couple in a show full of straight couples? dallas mentioned his character not having any lines in the last part due to time, and i get that. there were so many storylines and character arcs to wrap up in just five episodes. the writers were probably working their asses off to give each character a satisfying ending. and while i DO have problems with some things this last part, overall i really enjoyed the ending.
but i feel like it was so easy to develop them in the first 10 eps, even if it was just little things here and there. iβm not gonna lie, their last scene at kennyβs house peeved me a little bit lol, because it 100% wouldβve been possible to write them romantically. they couldβve even left their relationship open at the end of part 2, then have them hold hands and smile at each other and tease them in part 3, and i still wouldβve loved that.
havenβt watched the entire stream w/ dallas and griffin, so i donβt know if they talked about it more; iβm assuming they didnβt. but i just had to rant a little because kenny and anthony are one of the relationships i felt disappointed by this season. the writers had so much potential with them and planned for them to be a couple, and decided to randomly write it out. yeah. another loss for the books.
makes me crazy that not everyone headcanons transfem robby keene. thats a girl. thats a beautiful butch lesbian. she dates women so lesbianly

topping is actually gayer than bottoming because like the top is the one who's deciding again and again to put his dick in another man. The other guy could just be chilling. For all we know

Cobra Kai Season 6, Episode 15

...I think perhaps the scene at the All-Valley semi-finals was not only for Kreese to make a message/cautionary tale for anyone who thinks about crossing Cobra Kai by using Daniel as an example (though certainly his main point) but also his way of setting a precedent for Bobby too. Okay, let me elaborate first because I don't know how much of a reach this is but hear me out.
So remember this scene, where Daniel and Mister Miyagi visit the Cobra Kai dojo after the Halloween incident: they're watching two of Kreese's students spar: Brown vs Robertson
Bobby tags Robertson and earns his point, but to Kreese, that's not enough because he then says this to Bobby:
Kreese then delves into his "no mercy" tirade to the class, which... is pretty on-par for Kreese (also look at Robertson in the scene again, he's only a green belt!! π the poor kid... of course Kreese of all people would set a green belt up against a black belt)
But also, this isn't the first time Kreese's lectured the class about this, and we know that because right before this scene, on Halloween, Johnny word-for-word quotes him and uses it as a way to justify beating up an already knocked-down and nearly-unconscious Daniel, much to Bobby's dismay and disgust. Also make note that all of Bobby's friends gave him push-back for sticking up for Daniel and "showing mercy towards the enemy" (either directly by verbally dismissing him, or indirectly by siding with Johnny).
"No mercy" is a lesson that's taught and repeated ad nauseam to the students, it's literally in the Cobra Kai motto. And here in the above scene at the dojo, Kreese uses it as a direct comment towards how he felt about Bobby's hesitation to deliver a finishing hit to Robertson, who was already on the ground (and Bobby already earned his point! he's already won the round, so anything after is unnecessary, excessive). But Kreese insists it, that to be a Cobra, you have to strike hard, strike first, and with no mercy. To have Bobby as one of his top students (was runner-up in the 1983 All-Valley tournament) and also be merciful, it's not a good look in Kreese's eyes. It's wholly incompatible and shouldn't exist.
Then we go to the All-Valley tournament. Kreese tells Bobby to put Daniel "out of commission" and Bobby objects (rightfully so, he's assured in his skills and knows he can beat Daniel; following his sensei's orders is only going to get him disqualifiedβ completely killing his chances of winning the All-Valley). But Kreese just narrows his eyes at him and spits the dispute back. "I don't want him beaten." It's not enough. This is a parallel to that earlier scene at the dojo with Bobby against Robertson.
Bobby's not Kreese's star student in the way Johnny is because Bobby doesn't go the full length like his friends do when it comes to Kreese's "no mercy" rule. To Kreese, whatever happens to Bobby is just collateral; he's just a means to an end. Who cares if Bobby gets disqualified in the competition (and banned from all future competitions) if he's not really representing Cobra Kai the way Kreese wants him to? In fact, it's better for Bobby to be disqualified and barred from competing than to show any mercy to the enemy. It's cruel, it's unnecessary, it's so very Kreese. You can see how competitive and passionate Bobby is towards karate and competing in tournaments. For him and his friends, it's the thing they love doing, it's their thing, and now he's being directed to just throw all of that away...
Kreese's cruelty knows no bounds, and we see just as much again after the tournament, when he thinks the reasonable reaction to Johnny getting second place was to 1) kick him off the team, and then 2) choke him out.
Ugh. Someone get rid of this Kreese guy, I'm so sick of him.
why yall hating on legends so hard genuine question. the new characters are fun and the lore tie ins are good do you guys just not like fun
