Is anyone left standing for the first Bakugan series? 👉🏼👈🏼👀
been rewatching bakugan lately
What if I drew them as animals? What then?
Notes under cut:
Guys, guys! I faced my fears and did digital art for the first time in a while! Isn't she pretty? I was so nervous about getting started, but it ended up not being too stressful after all! I drew her with MS paint first and then colored her with Clip Studio. Somehow drawing on MS Paint is less daunting for me. Maybe with some practice, I can get it to look less sloppy!

in relation to this post i made, i was thinking about joe again and how his medical condition sort of puts him in the same situation as the white ones, though obviously to a lesser degree.
we are told by his mother that joe has been hospitalized in kyushu since he was little and has never been outside. she tells the brawlers that he's not allowed to do any strenuous activities because it'll exacerbate his condition and that it's unlikely that he'll ever get better.
"he's been living in the hospital since he was little, and he's never been outside even once. he's forbidden from doing any strenuous activity, and it's likely to stay that way. his illness is one that no one can cure."
"the white ones are sudden mutations born in the process of evolution, forgotten entities in the gap between dimensions. we are fated to simply await our deaths."
joe's situation mirrors that of the white ones in how he's been forced to live in a hospital all his life as a result of an incurable disease, making him powerless and weak. because he was born with this illness, he's had to watch as the world changed without him, unable to interact with his peers except from behind a screen. just like the white ones, joe was fated to live out his days in the hospital until his illness would claim his life, a fate that likely would've come to pass if wavern hadn't intervened. joe and wavern also both express their desire to see the outside world and engage with it as much as possible.
additionally, joe's name in the japanese dub is jō osamu (城 治.) one of the meanings behind the kanji for his first name is cure/heal.
and his last name means castle. (read as shiro but pronounced as jō.)
and while shiro means castle, it also means white. both words are pronounced the same but written with different kanji.
and wouldn't you know, the white ones are known as 白きもの in the japanese dub.
coincidence? i think not!

BGKN:unlimited (jpn edition)
the initial season of bakugan had shun kazami placed at number one, until he was suddenly dethroned by a mysterious brawler who doesn't speak. according to his online handle, he goes by the clear pseudonym of "Masquerade".
BKGN is a serialized magazine ran by jo and a small publishing team and is the number two source for everything bakugan (first place is his forum, of course). he primarily helps with writing meta analyses, where he has a knack for finding new tricks players use on the battlefield.
