The audition was based on generic material: they adapted some parts of the book which were thought of as interesting or meaningful. Without thinking of what was easier to sell to the general public (Elves are more beautiful than Dwarves, a love story is better than the relationship between two brothers, and so on).

At least we have this.

-dwarven noble women with long soft beards that they brush out and braid every single day

-dwarven warrior women with their beards braided back into their hair or cropped short to keep them or of the way in a fight

-dwarven seamstresses and cooks keeping their beards tired behind a cloth or net to keep their beards from getting into their work

-dwarven lady clerics braiding their beards to match their holy symbols or braiding beads with their holy symbols into their beards

- dwarven magic users who keep their arcane focus hidden in their gloriously styled beards

-young dwarven girls getting excited over their first chin hairs

-beauty in dwarven society bring directly linked to proper beard maintenance

-Dwarven couples braiding our styling their beards in the same fashion to imply they their together, just to be cute

Seriously though lady dwarves have beards, three is no excuse for creating them without them.
