The movie is written and directed by Taika Waititi who also plays a ghost in the museum who died there by accident and can’t fucking leave so he invites the vampires in because he is bored and thinks this will spice things up.

the ridiculousness of seriously dnf dead truthing aside, i do think it’s a shame that very new dnfers don’t know the feeling of witnessing it every day like months ago. i remember when i used to actually wake up in total fear of what dnf was up to while i slept, and somehow i always underestimated it….

like do people know that the hoodie pics, the railing tiktoks, the valentine’s convo, and SO MUCH MORE happened within one week?? and it only got worse, til we just gave up on recapping weekly? what i’d give so we all live on that adrenaline again every day

i’ve said this one billion times but… it’s so neat to me how c!foolish joined the smp post-character arc. choosing peace over violence, learning that problems can’t be solved with a sword, is a totally reasonable way to end a character arc. introducing a character who has already been through a supposed character arc and is now dealing with unforeseen relapses and conflicts, that peace isn’t always the solution either? and making that character, who has already learned a lesson and is living under a facade of perfect inner peace, someone who frequently listens to the current problems of people vastly younger than him? because they think he’s stable and well-adjusted and therefore a suitable person to listen to their burdens? he listens intently and carefully and remembers what they tell him? and even he himself prefers to pretend he’s unburdened? ohhhh baby

Also, adult actors need to stop portraying teenagers because I 100% believe that it plays a huge part in the adultification of teens. A large part as to why certain people don’t see teens as children is because in their minds eye they’re picturing a 20 something year old actor from TV

Also also, even though teens are sexually active, it’s not at the rate these shows depict it

also i feel like it really plays into insecurity cause real 15 year old children don’t look as polished and developed as the 25 year olds playing them which makes them feel inadequate. a 15 year old wont have a fully developed “sexy” body and thats ok cause they’re a kid and shouldn’t be perceived as sexy in the first place

I mostly agree with this, but I just want to add I don’t think it’s such a bad thing to have maybe say, someone in their early 20’s play a teenager so long as that actor is baby faced enough to pass as a real teenager and as long as the character isn’t sexualized. I think having a young adult play a teenager isn’t such a terrible idea because Hollywood can be a really toxic environment but especially for minors. I like the idea of giving real teenagers a chance at a normal childhood and being able to focus on their education.

I think the newest MCU Spiderman movies are a great example of this. The teenagers are played by young adults, but baby faced young adults who could pass as teenagers, and throughout the movies they look and behave like real teenagers. Plus they’re not sexualized at all.

But otherwise I agree, it’s disturbing to have teenagers played by someone who’s almost 30 and actually looks their age and then make the character sexually objectified and that really plays into this creepy culture of sexualizing and adultifying minors.
