I watched a Wendy Williams interview and there's this part that's like "can we get a ring cam!" and Miss Piggy shows her bling and I'm just like fuck she's so iconic. Miss Piggy who are you wearing? Miss Piggy have you ever considered running for office??

It's not just the audience; professional journalists, hosts, and actors report it is legitimately difficult to not see the Muppet as a person, and it is, in fact, incredibly easy to interview or act with them once the performer gets properly set up.

this has been a very longstanding issue - before the muppet show was even a thing some muppets appeared in commercials, such as rolf the dog they had a continual problem where when people directing/shooting the dogfood commercial would give dirrection to rolf that they would be speaking to the muppet, to which rolf REPEATEDLY had to tell them ‘i cant hear you, you have to talk to him’ and point at the performer underneath him rolf is one of the most embarrassing muppets to need this direction as the performer is this, damn, obvious when not on camera

I did an interview with Gonzo one time, and when I got into the Zoom call, it was the actor on screen trying to figure out his audio. And then once he did, he went like “OKAY!” and then just like dove to the floor and it was Gonzo and there was never a moment when I doubted that the dude was just Gonzo’s tech guy

A couple years ago, I was invited to the birthday party of one of my former preschool students. I decided to bring my teaching puppet (a big rat) along because I knew several other kids from that class would be there, and she was always a huge hit with them.

They were, of course, very excited to see her. But what surprised me was that after the kids ran off to play in the sprinkler, the parents around me struck up conversation with the puppet. They continued for at least fifteen minutes, asking her questions like, "how long have you been teaching?" and "eaten out of any good dumpsters lately?" until one dad exclaimed "why have I been talking to a rat puppet this whole time!"

It’s always surprising how many German senior engineers have nicknames based on characters from Muppets. Muppets. At multiple German companies. I had a boss lady called Alexandra who went by Janice. And there is a Fozzie literally everywhere. Like a bunch of Bavarians hit by the cultural bomb of Jim Henson just make you go crazy while you try to find in the corporate directory who the fuck Gonzo is.

the key to understanding kermit is that line from the original muppet series where lesley anne warren is like "i thought you were the only person here who wasn't crazy" and kermits like "me not crazy? i hired the others" that guy loves chaos. he loves crazy shit, and he loves being the guy who has to handle the crazy shit. he deliberately creates these circumstances! he puts himself in these positions! and then he's like "i cant believe youre making me do this." anyway that frog is more human than any of us

Turns out it was Pokémon day yesterday? Well, I drew this for an AU my boyfriend is thinking about, a little Muppets x Pokémon au..and of course I had to draw Fozzie with a silly little team

I think his Pokémon would actually like his jokes! So even after a long day of not making others laugh, he’s still got his own little audience at home waiting for him :3

The reason he has a Mimikyu is because Fozzie tends to mimic the guest star sometimes! So he knows what it’s like to copy those who are more popular, just to be liked a little more. (And for fun, his Mimikyu dresses like him :3)

The Bear type pokemon are self explanatory, and so is the Mr. Mime. And the Bidoof just seemed VERY Fozzie coded to me. Additionally, all his pokemon have little hats and/or ties like he does! Fozzie never uses his pokemon to fight, that would be cruel. He’s just happy to have some pals who think he’s funny :)

I'm writing a dnd campaign for friends that I'll be making a list of Muppets for them to pick from to base their character sheets after so that I can point to a trait the Muppets have and go "this aligns to this stat on your sheet". For example, Miss Piggy would have low charisma but high intimidation. Kermit would have low intimidation but high charisma. Kermit is also a bard with a banjo while Miss Piggy is the barbarian. This idea came about because I wanted to write a Muppets script where the Muppets are playing dnd, but their characters are played by famous actors and voiced by the Muppets. It just makes it easier on me as the dm with a bunch of newbies to assign them a character and let them visualize how things on the paper translate to the game world through the lense of said character. My brother called dibs on Kermit as the experienced player
