“ WHAT’S THIS ? ” she tossed another spoon into the sink where it clicked against a half a dozen dirty dishes. she still had her winter coat on and her purse hanging off her shoulder. the lines underneath her eyes had gotten deeper the past few months — not even the christmas break from work had helped her. IRRITATION in her tone is nearly palpable. she turned on the tap and grabbed the dishbrush. the sound of porcelain dishes clashing against each other filled the apartment. that sad excuse of an apartment they were crammed in. “ seriously ? when did you get back from work ? did you even go to work today ? “ she couldn’t keep up with his coming and goings. the dishbrush scratched against the first plate harshly. “ is it REALLY too hard to keep things tidy while i’m away ? i don’t want to be doing this at eight pm. ” [ &&. @bastienpons ]
Bastien SIGHED rubbing his temples from his place on the floor in front of the couch, various papers scattered across both the coffee table, the couch itself and it piles next to him on the floor. He had a paper deadline in two days for a magazine, and he didn’t have time for this again. “I’ll do them later.” was his only response, an annoyance clear in his voice despite the low tone of it. It seemed like the only thing they did recently was this. He heard the tap being turned on and the clear sound of cleaning and closed his eyes “I SAID I’ll do them later. Five dirty dishes aren’t going to KILL you” he said now louder but not moving from his spot. She was being childish, and he didn’t have the mental space for it right now. “Did I left this place no- but please explain to me again how that’s not REALL work. It’s been about 13 hours I may have forgotten” the sarcasm in his voice was clear as he saved and closed his laptop. He was expecting a fight now.
