Roberts family, Spring, 1890.

Inheriting the Roberts name once meant inheriting fishing boats and nets, sailing out in the darkest of nights in hopes of bringing back bountiful results to sell at the market the next day. For Patrick, it had meant growing up to eat fish stew everyday as most times that was all they could afford. Patrick had never had any particular interest in getting on a boat, much less to the sea and his father could never quite grasp what his son was so afraid of. Perhaps it was just a matter of time before he bought land with the money he’d made from selling all his inherited equipment. It wasn’t a lot and thus he didn’t get much land, but one could always expand.

He and Clarice had met shortly after his purchase and standard courting ensued. Perhaps Patrick’s way with words had won over her heart and she truly had believed his promises of happiness and success. They got married and had two wonderful children, but were unable to conceive after a failed third pregnancy. Still, Clarice was happy, she loved her children, she’d come from a big farm and the switch to their much tinier land had been pleasant, if at least for the decreased amount of work that had to be done with the crops. George and Charlotte had been good kids too, though the little girl had a penchant for hiding and had worried her mother countless times as a toddler, she grew out of it with age and was now shaping up to be quite the young lady.

George had married to Mary-Anne, who he’d met in church, quite soon after reaching the appropriate age. They’d grown up as friends and she was and is an exemplary young woman. Patrick and Clarice both could be nothing but proud when the couple gave life to their beloved first grandchild, Emma. Life for the Roberts was nothing short of amazing as of late, although lately Patrick was beginning to worry about finding a good suitor for his beloved daughter. Charlotte was approaching marriage age and there was nothing more important than ensuring whoever she ended up with would truly cherish and respect her.

Guess who finally updated their game and can go back to playing and telling stories!!!!! The only mod I’m waiting on is RPO rn but it’s okay because it’ll give me time to actually post what I’ve done so far in my new playthrough that I started because I might be a little noncommittal. And also because EA cursed my legacy save with the infinite loading screen despite my mods always being up to date </33

I’m trying to keep a forever save with this one though so… very much keeping all my mods in check. Wish me luck because it does not seem easy, especially for someone like me who just starts new playthroughs for no reason after two hours
