ESPN: Jupiter’s Brooks Koepka to join LIV Golf

Brooks Koepka is leaving the PGA Tour and joining LIV Golf, ESPN is reporting, citing sources.

The 32-year-old Jupiter resident and four-time major champion is the latest professional golfer to break from the PGA Tour to join the Saudi-backed invitational.

LIV Golf is expected to announce the addition of Koepka, 32, in the coming days, sources told ESPN on Tuesday.

The No. 19-ranked golfer in the world would reportedly join LIV Golf in time for its first U.S. tournament in Oregon at the end of the month, ESPN reported.

With 50.4% of the votes, Gustavo Petro was elected Colombia’s first left-wing president. His running mate, Francia Márquez, also marks the first time an Afro-Colombian woman will take the title of vice president. Runner-up Rodolfo Hernández—with 47.3% of the votes—conceded, saying his acceptance was a necessary gesture “if we want our institutions to stay strong.”

Kyrie Irving Reportedly at ‘Impasse’ Over Future With the Nets

Kyrie Irving is reportedly at an “impasse” over his future with the Brooklyn Nets, per a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Sources tell The Athletic that conversations about Irving’s future have gone stagnant between him and the Nets,” Charania reports.

“An impasse currently exists among the parties that clears the way for the seven-time All-Star to consider the open marketplace, those sources said.”

Irving played just 29 games for the Nets last season after refusing to get vaccinated in accordance with New York City mandates.

Josh Emmett edges past Calvin Kattar, demands shot at UFC featherweight title

Josh Emmett's case for a UFC featherweight title shot got a lot stronger on Saturday, as he picked up a split decision over Calvin Kattar in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Austin, Texas.

Emmett (18-2) attacked Kattar (23-6) with winging right hands and body shots over the course of a back-and-forth five-round fight. All three judges' scorecards were close. Two officials awarded the 145-pound fight 48-47 to Emmett, who went in as the betting underdog. A third saw it 48-47 for Kattar.

Although the fight was undoubtedly close, producing a wide range of fan scores on social media, Emmett said he was confident about the result. Current champion Alexander Volkanovski is scheduled to defend his belt against Max Holloway at UFC 276 on July 2 in Las Vegas, and Emmett demanded a chance to face the winner.

Lakers draft prospect profile: Jules Bernard

Just because the Los Angeles Lakers do not have a pick in the upcoming NBA draft doesn’t mean they’re not doing their due diligence on draft prospects.

The team is reportedly interested in acquiring a second-round pick, and many expect it to also try to sign at least one undrafted player as a free agent.

One player the Lakers recently brought in for a workout is Jules Bernard, a guard at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Bernard played a full four seasons for the Bruins, and at 6-foot-7, he can play both the shooting guard and small forward positions.

(CNN)Max Verstappen held off the challenge of Carlos Sainz to triumph at the Canadian Grand Prix for the first time in his career on Sunday, further extending his lead atop the Formula One drivers' championship.

The reigning world champion prevailed in a nail-biting end-of-race fight with the Ferrari driver to secure his sixth win of the season and his second in a row after claiming a victory in Azerbaijan. The victory moves him 46 points clear in the championship ahead of Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez, whose early retirement due to a mechanical failure provided a blemish on the team's sixth consecutive race win.

2022 Men's College World Series roundtable: Omaha field is heavy with SEC flavor

The Men's College World Series is set, but the team everyone was expecting to see in Omaha didn't make the trip.

Tennessee, the undisputed No. 1 team in the country, was upset by Notre Dame in the super regionals at Knoxville, leaving a wide-open field to battle for the national championship.

The eight teams are split into two four-team, double elimination brackets, with the winners of each bracket facing off in the best-of-three finals scheduled to begin June 25. All games will air on either ESPN or ESPN2 and are available on the ESPN App.

Play in the first bracket begins Friday with Oklahoma facing No. 5 Texas A&M (ESPN, 2 ET) in the opener, and Notre Dame taking on No. 9 Texas (ESPN, 7 ET) in the nightcap.

Draymond ruthlessly roasts Celtics with their own giveaway shirt

After Golden State earned its fourth Finals win in eight seasons by beating Boston in Game 6 at TD Garden Thursday night, Green showed off his penmanship on Friday by making some additions to the Celtics shirt.

Above the empty banner, Green scrawled “WARRIORS” with two arrows pointing to the previously blank slate. He added, “NOPE!! Maybe in 23” with two more arrows inside of the square.

Biden is 'fine' after falling off his bike in Delaware, White House says

(CNN)President Joe Biden is "fine," after falling off his bike Saturday during a ride in a state park near his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, a White House official said.

No medical attention is needed, the official added in a statement released to reporters traveling with the President. "As the President said, his foot got caught on the pedal while dismounting and he is fine. No medical attention is needed. The President looks forward to spending the rest of the day with his family," the official said.

After suffering the two worst injuries in basketball, Klay Thompson is an NBA champion once again. And despite winning the title on three other occasions, he can barely believe how good it feels this time around.

“I was feeling absolutely incredible,” he said of the postgame celebrations. “I was feeling just so high on life that I didn’t want to leave the stage.”

Thompson also spoke about how hard it was to get back on the court after his ACL and Achilles injuries, let alone getting back to playing at a championship level.

Golden State Warriors' Big Three say NBA title feels 'different' after dealing with past failures

BOSTON -- As the final seconds wound down in Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Warriors and Celtics, Stephen Curry crouched down on the baseline and placed his head in his hands.

At center court, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole shared a long embrace. On the left side of the court, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala exchanged several high-fives before going in for a hug.

Golden State was just two seconds away from clinching its fourth NBA title in the past eight years with Thursday's 103-90 victory.

Jordan Spieth is hurting. But the roller coaster didn’t shut down at the U.S. Open

 Mass. — Jordan Spieth, 100 or so yards short of water, a first down behind one of the drooping Massachusetts trees here, and inches left from the knee high stuff, saw none of it, flipped his short iron through, and the build-out behind the 13th green approved.

Earlier this week, ahead of Thursday’s first round at the U.S. Open, reports had floated around The Country Club that the three-time major champion was fighting a stomach bug. Golf Channel reported that Spieth hit just three balls on the range on Tuesday, played very little after that and was operating at “about 20 percent.” Colt Knost, who also co-hosts GOLF’s Subpar podcast, noted on SiriusXM Radio that Spieth was off, according to the Action Network.

Sue Bird to retire at the end of 2022 WNBA season

The 2022 WNBA season will be Sue Bird’s last. On Thursday, the legendary point guard announced she will retire from playing at the end of the current campaign — her 21st in the league.

Bird will go down as one of the greatest women’s basketball players of all time, with five Olympic gold medals, four WNBA titles, two national championships, and five EuroLeague crowns. She played her entire 21-year career with the Seattle Storm — most of any player with a single team — and is the WNBA’s all-time assists leader with 3,114. Bird is the only player in league history to play at least 500 games.
