It’s rare these days that I get a blowout and I can’t do it myself any longer – my hair is too long. (Hmmm… note to self: get a hair cut.) On the rare occasion that I do splurge on a blowout I try my hardest to make it last as long as possible, which is tough because literally every time I see my hairdresser it is raining.
One of the items in my blowout extending aresenal is dry shampoo, though honestly, I’ve never liked using it that much. With dark brown hair I usually have to work pretty hard to make the shampoo disappear, or I have to use a minimal amount. Neither option is optimal.
I just received an email from Drybar that they’ve released Detox: Dry Shampoo for Brunettes ($20).
According to the description the product:

Warby Parker Mabel Sunglasses
I’ve been a fan of Warby Parker eyeglasses for awhile now and own two pairs. The frames are fashion forward yet affordable, which makes them pretty much perfect in my book! The first time I got a pair of glasses I paid $200+ (even with insurance), which was a bit shocking to me. I like that Warby Parker eyeglasses cost $95, including the prescription lenses, and they work with insurance companies and flex spending. It’s awesome!
More recently Warby Parker launched a line of sunglasses, and I had the chance to check them out in person yesterday when I stopped by the Warby Parker Bus in Chicago. The entire line of Warby Parker sunglasses and eyeglasses were on the bus and I tried on quite a few pairs. Ultimately my favorite pair was Mabel.
Normally I stick to more classic aviators and wayfarers, but I really loved this frame! My face is super round and sometimes finding a pair of shades that don’t look silly can be a tough task, but it was love at first sight with these frames (literally). I was told that the Mabel frames look good on almost everyone.
Most of the Warby Parker sunglasses cost the same as the eyeglasses – $95. However, they also offer prescription lenses for their sunglasses, which will increase the price to $150. All Warby Parker sunglasses have polarized lenses.
If you’re wondering whether I picked up a pair of Warby Parker Mabel Sunglasses the answer is yes, of course! They’ll be here in about a week!

Nuances of Blue
While browsing Pinterest yesterday I saw an image that I loved… and yet, I didn’t Pin it myself and now I can’t find it. D’oh. I suppose it doesn’t matter because the image has stuck with me. The image is of a plain white bed, over which there is a large blue mural that extends to almost as wide as the bed. It’s stunning in its simplicity and exactly my aesthetic. (Our guest room currently has all white bed linens.)
While I can’t find the original image, I did find this Nuances of Blue wall art at Z Gallerie, which I think would do the trick perfectly. Of course, a $750 piece of art better do the trick. And preferably wash the laundry, too.
Regardless of the hefty price tag, this blue artwork is gorgeous and would go a long ways to creating a tranquil bedroom atmosphere.
Once my husband and I finished arguing over the price tag, that is.

This whole kit is pretty awesome, actually. You get a full set of nail polish strips, as well as two bottles of nail polish and a bottle of rhinestones so you can be as creative as you want and create a manicure that’s completely unique.
Maybe it’s a little early to be thinking this way, but wouldn’t this make a cute (albeit slightly pricey) stocking stuffer?

This is the second time in a few weeks I have posted Jeffrey Campbell footwear. You could say I have a bit of an obsession with Jeffrey Campbell.
Despite the (probably) thousands of pairs of boots I’ve posted on Fantabulously Frugal over the years, this is only the second pair I’ve actually purchased for myself. The Jeffrey Campbell Brit Wrap Strap Booties just spoke to me, and now I’ve got my fingers crossed that they fit when they arrive (later today!).
I was looking for something a little bit rock and roll – in black – with plenty of buckles and whatnot. These fit the bill perfectly.
Now if only fall would hurry up and get here. (Yep, you read that correctly. I <3 fall.)

How gorgeous is this Dior Gold Sparkling Nail Powder? According to the information, it creates a “jewel-like manicure” with an “elegant, brilliant couture finish.”
This gold powder comes in a set with a sparkling black powder and a base coat.
From what I’ve read of the reviews the powder can be kind of tough to apply but the sparkle is amazing. For the right occasion I’d totally be willing to give it a shot.

I love my life. There isn’t one thing I’d change, though sometimes I wish I had the opportunity to don more formal attire, such as this Jason Wu Beaded Silk Chiffon Gown. I’ve been sitting here for 10 minutes thinking about it, and I can’t envision a time in my life when it would ever be appropriate to wear a $12,000+ gown.
The closest I could come is to a wedding, but I’d be afraid of upstaging the bride. I think it’s high time I start attending some black tie galas, eh?
If I had a reason for such a dress this Jason Wu is definitely what I’d be wearing this fall/winter. You know. If I had 12,000 extra dollars lying around.

Last night I had a bit of free time on my hands so I did what I’m assuming everyone does when they have free time: I searched for my first name in Etsy to see what would turn up.
What I found absolutely made my day and sent me right back to my childhood: Lisa Frank is Da Bomb Nail Polish. This may have made me squeal like it was 1989 again, because Lisa Frank WAS my childhood. Everything I owned for school just HAD to be Lisa Frank for a few years there, and I’m sitting here now wondering whatever became of my Lisa Frank sticker collection?
Thanks to the internet, I just learned that Lisa Frank is a real person. Who knew?
Anyhoo, back to the amazing Lisa Frank is Da Bomb Nail Polish, which was created by Trelly Polish. The polish is like the grown-up version of Lisa Frank stickers, which means I need it ASAP. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen pink mascara before approximately two minutes ago, but now it is pretty high on my wish list. I mean, how amazing is that color above! Butter London has a new line of incredibly colorful beauty products available, which includes the pink mascara above.
I suppose if I just saw the image above I probably wouldn’t be that impressed, but check this out:

Jeni's Loveless Biscuits & Peach Jam Ice Cream
Last year I planned a work trip to Nashville solely so I could make stops for treats at two places: The Loveless Cafe and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. It was one of my favorite trips of the year, because in one day I had an amazing lunch at Loveless and dessert at Jeni’s
If you haven’t been to The Loveless Cafe and you ever find yourself in Nashville, it’s worth a stop if for nothing other than the hot biscuits and fresh peach and strawberry jams they bring out as soon as you take a seat. Talk about delicious. I’ve been to Loveless twice now, and both times I’ve filled up on biscuits before my meal ever arrived.
As for Jeni’s, I became obsessed with this Ohio-based ice cream company when I found it on the shelf at a small fancy food store near my house. Jeni’s makes small batch seasonal ice cream and it’s as delicious as it is pricey. The price obviously doesn’t deter me though because I’ve given Jeni’s more of my pay check than I care to admit.
Jeni’s is opening in Chicago soon and I’ve already dubbed myself Jeni’s #1 Chicago Fan. I am counting down the days until I can stop by to pick up a treat. In anticipation of this day I was on the Jeni’s website last night (like I said – #1 fan here) and noticed that they currently have a new flavor: Jeni’s Loveless Biscuits & Peach Jam Ice Cream.
Please, please, please let this flavor be available in Chicago! Two of my very favorite things combined into one? I MUST have this and I’d really rather not pay to have it shipped to me… though I will, if necessary.
Here’s the description:

The other day I was at the nail salon getting a pedi. I normally love this nail salon because they’ve got two large screen TVs set up where they’re normally airing whatever’s on The CW. On this particular day, however, the station was turned to infomercials and I got totally caught up in learning about the Nutribullet.
It’s now the thing I want most in the world.
The last time I watched an infomercial my husband and I got a juicer that I think we’ve used all of five times in five years. (So.Many.Parts.) The Nutribullet has similar capabilities as a juicer, but fewer parts, which means less to clean up. It also pulverizes whatever you put into it – even nuts! (Apparently cashews make drinks creamier. Who knew?)
My birthday is this weekend and I think I’m going to treat myself to a Nutribullet and give the old juicer the heave ho.
I think you know you’re getting old when you want to spend your birthday money on liquid vegetables.
