“The Bestowal of God is not conditional upon the Capacity of the recipient. What were you at the beginning of the matter? You were in the concealment of non-existence, possessing neither capacity nor preparedness. Yet the Real (Exalted and Most High) bestowed upon you the blessing of existence and its’ perfections; and spread for you the table of boundless favours, limitless mercy, and infinite grace. He subjected all beings to your service, without your deserving it, without prior preparedness, and without any prior request or supplication. Thus, your state today is not worse than that day when you were nothing, utterly devoid of ‘Existence’. God has promised mercy and forgiveness. Take but a single step forward (with sincerity and humility) towards his sacred threshold. He will take you by the hand however burdensome the matter may be. If you are unable to fulfill His due rights, He will overlook them for you; and if you are unable to discharge the rights of people, He will Himself settle them on your behalf.”

I do not know what gorgeous thing the bluebird keeps saying his voice easing out of his throat, beak, body into the pink air of the early morning. I like it whatever it is. Sometimes it seems the only thing in the world that is without dark thoughts. Sometimes it seems the only thing in the world that is without questions that can’t and probably never will be answered, the only thing that is entirely content with the pink, then clear white morning and, gratefully, says so
