ended up adjusting the houseboat meshes so they didn't need an omsp to align them with the floor/ foundation and the one tile for the object is near the front instead of the center, and now that it is considered neither below ground or indoors, it reflects correctly :D

the bad news (for me lol) is because of the messed up way i built this lot, the camera can't go as low as i want, the walls don't reflect in the water with the new asi reflections mod so you just see the shadows of the furniture (using pool tiles in each corner method here), so now i'm going to rebuild it and maybe and not make all the mistakes i made before and see if i can't get a swimmable area working, asi reflections, and better underwater terrain.

i used this tutorial and this houseboat frame

BUT! the houseboat frame deco object doesn't reflect in the water. i fudged it by painting the foundation the interior is sitting on since i made it a split level (white-ish wall with a dark crown moulding) and it looks ok, but if any of you guys who know more about objects than me know if there is a setting in simpe i can edit on the houseboat to get it to show up in the water that would be really nice 🙏 google is ofc not helping (thinking i want to make a mirror, or that i have all reflections off smh)

I was explaining this to a friend recently and I think it's an important distinction to make: not all queerplatonic relationships look the same.

A good way I've found to illustrate what exactly a qpr is, is to say "a qpr is to relationships what nonbinary is to gender". While both of these traditionally function on a binary (male/female, platonic/romantic), by defining our personal outlooks and experiences of the concepts of gender and relationships with new terms, we challenge the boundaries that society has put in place.

And yes, whilst redefining what actually constitutes romantic or platonic relationships, or male and female identities, and what makes them different (and acknowledging where they overlap, or where they can expand past what we traditionally expect) is important to increasing our understanding, so is providing options entirely outside of those two boxes.

And that's what it is - options. It's very easy to trivialise the concept of nonbinary and simply make gender into a trinary, rather than a binary. Male/female/nonbinary, which goes against the very purpose of the nonbinary label. This further erases the spectrum of gender. It's the same with relationships - by giving a strict set of instructions on how a qpr must look and act, you are simply creating a trinary. The point of the concept of qprs is to acknowledge that there are relationships between people that may overlap platonic and romantic, or fall partially within one and partially outside, or ones that are entirely separate from either category.

There are an infinite amount of ways a relationship can manifest, and if the people in the relationship feel that queerplatonic best describes their partnership without romance, or their affection without commitment, or their feelings towards each other that aren't quite what romantic or platonic is to them, or any other reason that rebels against amatonormativity, then they can choose to use that term. Queerplatonic covers the widest range of relationships that come in all shapes and sizes.

I think it's so important when discussing topics like relationships and gender to consciously make the effort to keep queering our ideas of the concepts - to remember that a spectrum is a spectrum. Labels can be useful for finding community, identifying your experiences and validating your struggles, but as soon as you try to start hyper-defining them, you lose the radical nature of queering our understanding of ourselves and our relationships. We name these concepts in order to give a voice to our subversion of society's arbitrary rules and expectations, not to police each other into conforming to a particular understanding of how a person (with a certain label) "should" act or be.

[TS2] Huge Lots Mod (120x120) UPDATE

Overview

Hey! As many of you know, about 4 years ago Lazyduchess released a mod for The Sims 2 that increases lot size limit from default 60x60 to 120x120. It is an amazing work, despite some issues that arise with this mod installed. Personally I wanted to play with this mod sooooo much but broken imposters made me avoid using it. Spent lot of time, I finally managed to fix the imposters at least. Snow next maybe??

Installation

It is completely the same as original, so go to LD's page for details (but you can ignore sticking to the classic lot imposter quality setting) and then download my fix and replace LD's ASI file with mine.

Improvements

Fixed multistory lots tile mapping. Added support for all lot imposter quality settings (so that it's possible to use this mod with higher lot imposter quality settings rather than classic one).

[TS2] Improved Lot Skirt Shader (WIP)

Overview

Hi everyone! This is an experimental (WIP) mod that makes lot skirts in TS2 looking like neighborhood terrain. TSCS inspired me to create this mod; as far as you remember, TSCS has visible neighborhood decals from lot view. It is set in assembly code so that TSCS lot skirts use neighborhood techniques for mapping. Original TS2 doesn't have such functionality. LD attempted to immitate that via fake neighborhood deco but it was created for particular terrains only. So I decided to attempt editing lot skirt shader and got some results; it adds cliffs, rough and meduim stages and improves shores from lot view! Though it is not perfect as it has some misconsistency with lighting (original lot skirts also do) and doesn't repeat the neighborhood terrain mapping but I think it's more practical than neighborhood deco. Hope you like it!

Features

Adds neighborhood decals (cliffs, rough and medium terrain) to lot skirts. Decals are also visible with snow states. No blue snow fix is included. Works for every neighborhood automatically. Supports lighting mods (dusk and dawn states). Looks better with default replacements.

Installation

Put the .package file into your Downloads folder.

Compatibility

Incompatible with shader mods that modify lot skirts so rename the file adding "zzzz" prefix to make it load last to prevent conflicts if you use many shader mods. Doesn't conflict with other no blue snow mods that modify the rest shaders (roofs, lot terrain).

Known Issues

May look weird in dusk and dawn states using some lighting mods (still have no idea how to fix that). Seam between lot skirt and lot terrain (original TS2 lacks lot edge blend technique like in TSCS to make smooth transition between lot terrain and lot skirt). Lot imposter terrain paint may be invisible sometimes for unknown causes.

Terrain Types

Recently it has been discovered that it's possible to create new terrain types. My shader contains standard terrain types (temperate, desert, dirt and concrete) and uses dependence of textures on lot texture so if you add custom terrain types it's required for my shader to have added such dependencies otherwise my shader will look buggy for your custom terrain types (you are free to contact with me for more detailed information). So yeah, girl from an ambiguous time in the past (possibly during the French Revolution) falls into a hole and gets transported to 2008, I guess. The video itself is mostly pointless shots of walking and idle animations so you're not missing anything by not watching it. I never uploaded it anywhere because even back then I realized how boring it was to watch.

Simlish Safety Guides

Apparently there was even more stuff I made for the community center and had forgotten about!

These are on a new mesh because I wanted to treat myself with a perfectly fit mapping for once. I made six different sign designs, all of them previewed above.

4t2 Tragic Clown outfit - converted for AM

Hi! It's a request I did for @alienara-simblr! It's been a quite challenging one, it's not perfect but it's the best I can do atm and still I'm quite happy how it turned out :D. It's an outfit for AM only. There are 4 recolors of the mesh, 2 are by EA and I also added 2 more that are more based on the TS1 outfit. No gloves though :<.

Please let me know if I messed something up, it's been a while since I converted clothes (especially since I didn't do much of that even before) so I'm quite nervous if everything is fine ;'D.

4t2 Mooninbrites Walls

I liked these walls from Crystal Creations, but I wasn't a fan of the original molding, so I (re)converted them and added dark moldings and panels by Shasta. Comes in the original 14 colors, and categorized as wallpaper / paneling accordingly :)
