Nintendo Mini Direct Game Releases 2018
Donnie’s Top 10 for 2017
While 2017 was bad in terms of world events gaming wise it was actually pretty damn good. So with that here are my top 10 games for 2017…
1. Persona 5
Persona 5 really caught my attention with its theme this year as well as the kick sound track for the game. Nothing made maxing out social links and hanging out with friends cooler than having some cool music playing in the background.
2. Neir: Automata
Neir: Automata when it was shown was a game that had a lot of cool style as well as a slick combat system that was fast, quick, and to the point of action. Throw in some bullet hell mechanics and a story that will end up making questioning life and what are we here for in the end.
3. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
When Nintendo said we are changing up the formula for Zelda they really meant it. This is not only the most open Zelda game I’ve played it introduced a lot of stuff to make the series just feel fresh and new after being around for so long. So much to do and see in the game you can easily sink hundreds of hours into the game.

What Games Are You Looking Forward Too In 2017?
Donnie’s Top 3 Games of 2016
Here are my top 3 games of 2016 with a bonus seven that came close to clutching the top three spot. As well as most disappointing of 2016.Â
1. Fire Emblem Fates
The Fire Emblem series has always had a small place in my heart that satisfies my tactical RPG itch when I feel like sitting down and going through the motions of commanding an army. This time around Fates introduces three paths (three playthroughs and endings) based on the old and new principals of the series and provides you a true challenge depending on the path you go on. Add on the fact that you have base building, online features, and a nice bit of DLC you will be playing FE:F for a long time to go. Which isn’t bad for a portable experience.Â
2. OverwatchÂ
Overwatch is a game by Blizzard and it has shown itself as a true contender for my list. To this day I still play the game and have a lot of fun playing it whether I’m by myself or with friends nothing stops me from picking up one of the 23 available characters and trying to get the payload moving or defending points from the other team. Add in the competitive mode and you have something for everyone. If you like a causal experience FPS or you have hopes (or your friends) of having an esports team then overwatch is for you.Â
3. TitanFall 2
Prepare for TitanFall. TitianFall 2 did everything right when it was released. It had a really damn good single player campaign that introduce you to the lore and the cause of all the fighting that is happening in the game as well as the many factions that make it’s way into the multi-player aspect. Speaking of multi-player can I say that it’s just as good as was in the first Titan Fall but now you have a variety of options when it comes to customizing your Titan and what load out you want for it. You can choose between a ion cannon carrying one to a Ronin that all have it’s strengths and weaknesses. Not to mention the many different game modes and Respawn has been good with the double EXP weekends. So if you have some friends or love the idea of having your own death machine then TitanFall 2 is for you.Â
Worthy mentions...
4. Dark Souls 3
5. Uncharted 4
6. Batman: The TellTale Series
7. Pokemon Sun/ Moon
8. Hyper Light Drifter
9. Doom
10. Odin Sphere:Leifthrasir
Most Disappointing Game of 2016
Street Fighter 5 (Capcom in general really)
Street Fighter 5 was probably one of the games that had the most promise to be a great game out of the gate. It had the backing of Sony to make it an PS4/PC exclusive and the legacy arcade stick technology that Lab Zero studios people of Skullgirls fame put out free into the wild. But did capcom use it? No of course not and with that they released Street Fighter 5 as a bare bones game that you couldn’t access the online services to play the game to allow it to record your progress. It had no real single player mode (and when it did release it was trash), the shop wasn’t included till later, DLC characters didn’t come out on time, for PC the rootkit issue that exposed a lot of security of your PC, and over all lobbies weren’t up to snuff.Â
Yeah, Street Fighter 5 started off bad and eventually it got better towards the end of season one and with the start of season two they seem to be on the right path with things. Hopefully they can get Ono to start telling the truth in interviews now.Â
Extra Life 2016 !!!
Yooo were streaming for Extra Life 2016 !!! We’re starting with a little DmC Devil May Cry., so come on in and join us.
BC Reviews: Titanfall 2 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Titanfall 2 is an action packed first person shooter that offers both a single player campaign and a online multiplayer mode. That being said, let’s start with the single player campaign first.
The Campaign: AKA Who doesn’t want a robot as a best friend? Out of the gate you are given control over the protagonist Jack Cooper. Jack is a frontier militia rifleman who apparently has NO idea what it is to be a soldier. You are guided through a tutorial stage by a grumpy yet sagely mentor in a VR setting and learn the controls. Once you are comfortable with the controls, you are put through a trial mode. Once you are finished with the initial trial, you can either continue with the story or try to beat your fellow soldiers scores. Something I personally need to return to, but I rather fight giant robots.

Nintendo Direct September 1: All about the 3DS
Nintendo has stated that this week they will be holding a Nintendo Direct that will be focused on the fall line for the 3DS and will make no mention of the NX. Odd move from Nintendo to not mention anything about the possible new console/ handheld hybrid. Â
PS4 System Software 4.00 Will Feature Folders, UI Refresh, More
Code named Shingen will be rolling out soon for the Playstation 4 and will be bringing some much needed update and changes for the console to forefront. Changes such as...
UI Refresh
Adjustments and improvements to PS4’s main user interface. That includes new system backgrounds and a revised What’s New tab, to smaller changes like updated popup notifications and redesigned system icons. As a whole, it all adds up to a more refined and easy to use UI.
Quick Menu
As you know, pressing and holding the PS button on your DualShock 4 brings up the Quick Menu. Overhauled this menu to make it faster and easier to use. One big change is that the menu now only covers a portion of the screen, meaning you don’t need to leave gameplay entirely.
Share Menu
Like the Quick Menu, it only covers a portion of the screen. It will save the last social network you shared video clips or screenshots to, making the process of sharing a screenshot or video a bit faster and more streamlined.
You can also upload longer video clips to Twitter (was 10 seconds, now up to 140 seconds).
Folders and Library Organization
Big changes to the Library. We’ve added a new tab called Purchased, which will show all of the content you own — games, applications, demos, and betas you’ve participated in. As a result, the Games and Applications tabs focus on content currently installed on your system. This should help de-clutter your library, and make it faster to find the content you’re looking for.
There are some new sorting tools for your Library as well. You’ll be able to sort content by purchase date or install status, and search for specific games and apps via text input.
Trophy Improvements
This update brings the ability to view the Trophy offline. You’ll see a new “offline mode” option if your system is unable to connect to the network, letting you view your entire Trophy collection without an Internet connection.
User Profile
We’ve updated the look of the User Profile, making it easier to see relevant info for a player at-a-glance. For instance, you can now see your Trophy progress compared with another player right from their profile. You can also add a background image to your own profile — perhaps a screenshot you took in one of your favorite games.
