Final Reflection
Finally, we finished our topic speculative blueprint of future Auckland which we use animation video to show people our blueprint and design. In modeling part, I supported my team a lot. Firstly, we decide to use Cinema 4D to do the animation I use Blender and SketchUp to do the building and Alan also use SketchUp to help me do the model which he did the satellite town part. Because we are doing almost half Auckland which is really big work so maybe some detail I have no time to add also the texture and UI mapping not perfect. Secondly, when I finish the model, I import the model to cinema 4d to add texture and when I tried to do the terrain in cinema 4d it’s quite hard and there is some issue I can’t solve it recently and also the animation people it will take a lot of time in cinema 4d. Alan and I saw some video on Youtube which is some simple animation of building and camera, they use Lumion. I also try to use Lumion do some test and I consider it’s really easy to add certain animation and camera view and good quality. After that, we thought use Lumion to do the animation. Lumion is suitable for us to do the video and also the video quality in Lumion is great. Therefore I import our model to Lumion to add texture and try to export the render preview when we team think it’s alright, I give the file to Hugo to do the animation. Also, I support Hugo to do the animation in Lumion and I think we did good video. For me, the hardest part is doing the railway and connect them because it’s hard to do the perfect and each part maybe not at the same level, for example, the connection of floating island and CBD which it is not same high of the railway I have to adjust, after that I have to adjust everything. even now I still think some problems in our railway, we probably use the camera angle to avoid it to show people the good view. In addition, when I import the model to Lumion, I have to check everything is fine to make animation and some models maybe need to separate and some maybe group. I did a lot of test in Lumion to make it work. In the animation part, I help Hugo to do the keyframes and building rise also we have communication to solve some problems. Lastly, our team did the voice over and poster and Hugo cut the movie and we finish most work. If you see above photos which I render bit from Lumion, you probably think in modeling part and texture we did good work.
this is our final speculative blueprint of auckland
we add voice over to describe our purpose and conception
after render,
i did part of animation of train like door movement and train movement.after maybe we add people.
it shows the building and sea animation
i put the model to lumion also it’s in cinema 4d. we might use cinema 4d and lumion to do the animation. This video can see the overview of our plan.As we know make all Auckland city is quite big work, hopefully, i use open map plugin to help me build the building. also there is no textual now because lumion not really support to cinema 4d when i import the model the texture will lose.maybe i can add texture in lumion or import from anther software.
Auckland city CBD area
mid break time I built the main areas which is our plan to do and also i made a rail way to link each part.the the other part which is not import for us or we maybe do not show to people i use blender open map plugin to do.
i did a floor plan for our floating city which is an idea from a silver fern. I think it stands for New Zealand and we can image when people arrive new Zealand on the plane they see this floating island which symbolizes New Zealand. I think it can attract people to come to New Zealand not only solve the traffic problem.
we might use 3d software to build Auckland to present our plan and design. we also try to use animation. i did some research this is an easy way to build the whole Auckland in 3d software like Blender, i used open street addons plugin to blender and i can choose any area the plugin can auto make the street and building.i also use frame key to do the easy rise animation and i knew i can use shape to do something complicated animation.
week4
we post our research on the wall and we are trying to think about assumption in 2038 the Auckland transport still is a issue. And we also thought some solution to solve the problem. As we knew the Auckland population density we arrange 4 CBD areas such as Auckland city, Manuka city, Albany city and Henderson city. we maybe design a fast way to connect those areas like hyperloop make people easy and fast to go to each areas more convenient than using private car. Another, we want to build a floating island and move the university to the island because we knew about a lot of student come to uni and they also make the traffic jam,
studio- week3
As we talk with our lecturer and they suggest think about in the future, is the public transport still a issue? Also, view the past to predict the future to make a assumption.
AUCKLAND DENSITY PAST-CURRENT-FUTURE
The picture shows in the past the highest population is in Manukau city and Auckland city after few years there are 26 areas increase high like those two city and Auckland CBD is extremely increase in population density. The article also shows the prediction of the future which is more areas increase higher.
The parts of the Auckland region with the highest population density are in Manukau city and Auckland city, and in particular central Auckland. In 1991 there were four area units with a population density of more than 4,000 people per square kilometre. By 2006 there were 26 area units with a population density this high. The Auckland CBD has seen the largest increase in population density, due to the population more than doubling every five years between 1991 and 2006.
Population projections indicate that the Auckland region's population will grow substantially through to 2031. These projections take into account the Metropolitan Urban Limit and assume that the urban area boundary in Auckland region remains unchanged during the projection period. As the population increases, especially within the urban area, so does population density.
The medium-variant projections are one possible scenario of where people will live and what the region might look like. These projections show that by 2031 there could be more than 110 area units having a population density greater than 4,000 people per square kilometre. The Auckland CBD will continue to have the highest population density – increasing from 4,600 people per square kilometre in 2006 to possibly over 13,300 people per square kilometre by 2031.
In addition, higher density would spread to other parts of Auckland and Manukau cities, as seen by the increasing number of darker areas on the map. The population density in some western parts of Manukau city in 2031 would be the same density as in parts of the Auckland CBD in 2006.
The darker areas on the map also indicate there could be parts of North Shore and Waitakere cities having major population growth, and hence significant increases in their population density in the future.
Population densities in Rodney and Franklin districts have generally been low and stable over time, and are likely to remain low in these areas.

Auckland reclamation
we can see the history of Britomart which is become large and the government is planning to building larger.
Acorrding to reflection on Auckland planning, the black line in this map indicates how much of Auckland's waterfront is on reclaimed land (the map shows reclamations before the current container port was reclaimed). By 1973 a total of 162 hectares of land had been reclaimed in proximity to the Auckland Central Business District. Of this, 27.5% was vested for industrial uses (including railways, post office, power station and a bus terminal) by Auckland Harbour Board. An extensive street system was made on a further portion (25 %) of the reclaimed land. Today, Ports of Auckland Ltd (which replaced AHB as part of neoliberal reforms in the last 1980’s), operates Auckland’s port on about 55 hectares of reclaimed land.

Why do people go to the Auckland city?or live in the city?
However you define Auckland’s “city centre”, it’s been adding jobs rapidly in the last couple of years. Based on a narrow definition – roughly, the area bounded by the motorways – the city centre has hit a new milestone of 100,000 jobs, actually reaching almost 102,000 as at February 2016.
Using a slightly wider definition, you could call it 111,200 jobs. This is the definition used by the Ministry of Transport when they were monitoring employment growth in the city centre. More on that below.
https://www.greaterauckland.org.nz/2017/02/07/more-jobs-in-the-city-centre/
Assumption
I predict in the city the population still really high than other area and the britomart maybe become bigger. The government maybe build a island on the sea. Most people work in the city center so in the future the public transport still is a big issue. We might plan people leave city area or make the transport better.
studio- week2
This week we focus on doing some research to find what is the real problem of Auckland transport, How to improve public transportation in NZ? and what is the situation of the transport now?
“According to New Zealand Herald trying to get around Auckland is one of the biggest nightmares for most commuters. Many people using public transport complain about unreliable buses and trains that don't come frequently enough. Some say our public transport isn't cheap enough to lure them out of their cars or there just isn't a service that's close enough to them. Those who do take their cars dread peak hour traffic - something that appears to be starting earlier in the day and lasting longer than ever before.” Also, the location of Auckland and efficient is bad. Mitchell shows that The regions physical geography greatly restricts its transportation as it is situated on a narrow isthmus between two major harbors resulting in significant bottlenecks for any north to south movements and Auckland’s passenger transport has been condemned as inadequate and inefficient, a perception reflected in the user statistics. According to 2005, Auckland Regional Land Transport Strategy passenger transport accounted for only 8 % of trips in 2001 (Auckland Regional Council, 2005). Importantly, buses are vital to the Auckland region’s passenger transport accounting for 82 % of all passenger transport trips in 2004 (Auckland Regional Council, 2005).
we also have some idea such as None interchange bus services. Bus distribute bus: bus stop can detect the number of people at the bus stop and automatically assign a bus for this stop. Those maybe can reduce the problems.

studio- week1
This is the last semester, and I chose Pete and Ben’s studio which is future world probably we can do everything you want to do. Firstly we think about to keep going to the underwater city because we just do the facade of the building. we thought about human’s daily life if they underwater it has to be different. However, our group member thought it’s many people did similar to this project. Then we considered the underwater train and after this, we thought to do the real problem- Auckland public transportation because this is related to our life and also many people do not satisfy Auckland transport.
