§So, it’s been crazy. Never thought the school year would end the way it did; virtual schooling was the hardest thing I’d ever done. And now the 2020-2021 school year is up in the air. My area has declared all schools will resume in-person teaching after Labor Day, though we’re still able to do online teaching (which I really don’t look forward to because holy crap did that drive me insane suddenly prepping all my lessons to a virtual platform). I haven’t even had much time for myself this summer due to having to become a Level 1 Google certified educator, but I passed my exam, so now I have to move on to Level 2. I miss RPing Claudia, though, and I’d totes love to get the muse back to RP her again.

§Hey, RP fam. So, it was really difficult getting back into the swing of things, as right after Spring Break started, we were told we were transitioning to distance learning for a short while, but that short while ended up being the rest of the school year. I went from a 40-45 hour a week schedule to mostly 70-80 hours most weeks for the last two months in the attempt of digitising everything I taught. It’s been weird and really emotional not seeing my students. I’m currently back up at work in order to finish out the school year. We had some students fail, so we’re attempting to give them a bit more time to bring grades up. I’ll be at work the rest of this month. We’re not sure what August will look like, so we’re trying to get everything prepared on the off chance we start off the year with distance learning.

#[§lucid daydreams;ooc§]#[On top of that two family members were diagnosed with COVID19 and one of them passed away.]#[So there's been that to deal with too.]#[It's been an absolute shit storm.]

§It’s Spring Break for this smol teacher, so I might make the attempt at being on here a bit. If I’m not on here, just chuck a rock at me and ask for my Star Wars blog or something.

Omg. Today a 7th grade smol had a piece of purple pipe cleaner during out time in the computer lab. Dunno where she even found it. But she kept calling it her little worm friend, and I almost doubled over thinking she watched The Dragon Prince. Nope. Never seen it. So, I showed her a picture of Aaropod, and she fell in love. .... Are you Viren, smol??? She’s since named her ‘worm friend’ Gerard.

She got up, opened a bag on Virizon’s side and pulled out a bow, woven metal beams glinting in the light as she knelt down and took and lined up an arrow. “Now I remember saying I was going to teach you to hunt, would you like to learn now that we aren’t lying to one another?”

It was as if a heavy weight had been taken off her shoulders; the fact she was still being accepted made Claudia beam with a genuine smile in what felt like forever. ❧ “Yes. I’d very much like to learn how to hunt!” Genuine response. Maybe she could pretend to push the recent events away, let those thoughts fester in the back of her mind. ❧ “I’m going to give you a fair warning – I’m not very good at this.”

Oh man. Just five school days left with the smols. Next week is especially going to be hectic. My jr. high students are testing through their proficiency testing (new system for this year as opposed to the old one). Tons of end of the grading period projects. I’m drowning in getting grades in and lessons made up for the next marking period in January. I’ll try to post things up in the queue, but expect me to be more active during the holiday.

She smiled softly, Virizon happily resting his head beside Claudia and cooing at her, he was content at the compliments he heard, making Cynder chuckle softly.

“So, you said your name was Arlo correct?” She had picked up the staff, looking it over, she’d seen the staff before, when it was uncorrupt, she had been visiting someone in Lux Auria and had the pleasure of meeting the queen and her court.

“Is that the truth, or are you hiding it from me because you’re afraid?” She looked at her, a gentle expression on her features as she smiled. “I can tell you’re a dark magic user, he can smell it, and your hair is a bit of a give away-”

It was as if the very air had been knocked from her lungs. She’d hoped to not be cornered like this, and with the staff now held in Cynder’s hands, Claudia would have to rely on her own dark magic, a feat she didn’t think she’d even be able to accomplish with how drained she was from her previous dark magic endeavours. ❧ “... W––well of course my name’s Arlo!” Her voice cracked ever so slightly. Oh, who was she even kidding? It was obvious both the elf and dragon had seen through her lie. Stupid, stupid, stupid, she thought to herself. “Fine. Arlo’s the name of my horse. It really is a boy’s name. That part was true. Just... it’s not my name. You’re not planning on turning me in for being a practitioner of dark magic, are you?” Fingers entangled themselves in snowy locks as she averted her gaze.

§TEN DAYS LEFT WITH THE SMOLS BEFORE I YEET THEM TO THEIR PARENTS FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY. And then... I can crawl into a blanket burrito for two weeks.
