Idea: Wei Wuxian and A-Yuan meet Lan Wangji at the community garden when a work seminar/retreat prevents Lan Qiren from tending to his crops. Lan Wangji falls hard and fast for them. A nice cute fluffy story.
Notes: LQR and WWX have not met because of differing schedules but they both admire each others crops/gardens, a fact which made LWJ very curious about WWX at first. LQR admires the garden/crops in part because of how well grown and maintained they are, and also because of the variety and the obvious touches of a child.
LQR strongly believes in a childs education and experience with growing things, labour and nature, and hears from other gardeners that a child involved because the gardener shares this view, so automatic brownie points for WWX. What he hears about how sweet, friendly, smart and cute the kid also helps enamour him. Actually meeting the child later on only enforces this (and is one of WWXs saving graces when winning LQR over, along with his smarts and LWJs obvious happiness). His impression on WWX, before meeting him, was also high because of his community involvement, the tips on gardening and medicinal teas (a lot of which WWX knows because of WQ) LWJ passes along to him, and his talent in music which he hears of because he plays to his garden with A-Yuan.
LQR was having fun with LWJs love life and purposefully found other things to be doing to extend it until he met him, then begrudgingly enjoys it again after A-Yuan wins him over. LXC find out from his connections with his family and the Nies and is loving every moment of it. NHS finds out because he occasionally helps when hanging out with them, the strawberry rocks to scare off the birds were his idea and he painted them with A-Yuan and WWX. He has every bit of fun subtly pushing them together, giving them alone time by nicking A-Yuan and gossiping with LXC and JYL.
WWX is involved with the community gardens, community workshops, art programs, charity and volunteer work. He also involves A-Yuan in these thing, within reason, because he agrees with what WQ tells him about how the experience is good for his health, education and emotional/mental development. It also makes for a fun, cheap and practical bonding time. He likes experimenting with the garden with blood, bonemeal, etc. He also likes LQRs medicinal/tea gardens because it's useful to teach A-Yuan and enjoys passing on his knowledge of medicinal cooking with ginseng and such. He also enjoys passing on his knowledge of horticulture.
LQR grows tea flowers and various herbs for his teas and cooking. He also secretly grows some carrots and greens for LWJs bunnies because he's a softy for his nephews.
WWX grows chillies, herbs and spices for his own spice mixes and chilli sauces (he's aiming for a super hot sauce) which he shares with NHS and NMJ in exchange for good liquor and meat. He also grows ingredients for his and his siblings kitchens (especially Yanlis though). He also grows treats for his donkey, Apple (sweet potatoes and such which he also attempts to make liquor with). Because he lost a bet, there a very small amount of turnips that are given to the Wen siblings and Apple.
