Vashistasana flow with plank walkups. Adding strength to my practice. Always.
Finally nice enough to run outside here in blustery Minnesota (20+ degrees). Not too bad for not running for a week and a half and doing my first kickboxing class yesterday....
This is the face of a happy girl who has lost 4 pounds since the new year! :) SW: 144 CW: 140 GW: 125
40 minutes on the elliptical and an ab circuit. Super productive day!
February Goals
Hello everyone! Here are my goals for February.
1. Meditate every night (10 minutes)
2. Wake up early every day (6:30, 6:15, 6:00, 5:45 each week, respectively)
3. No sugary treats and try to stay low carb (I’m trying to break my sugar addiction)
4. Run 28 miles
5. Be back in the 130′s (2 pounds)
Today was gym day! Leg press, hamstring curls, dumbbell bench press, assisted pull-ups, and a bunch of other stuff.
I have been reading up on building a running base and they say that you should get up to 9 miles before doing any real training. Because of this, I will definitely spend this year focused on building up strength and said base and focus on half marathon or marathon training next year. Yay for goals!
“Kay and Joe O’Regan have finished dozens of races around the world: from Boston to Athens to Berlin to the northern tip of Norway in the midnight sun.
But they’ve only finished two marathons while holding hands. At the 1986 London Marathon they laced fingers as a race photographer took their photo under the finish clock. They were both 50 years old, and it was their first marathon. At 80 years old, Kay completed her 113th marathon while Joe finished his 29th. They promised each other it would be their last, a final 26.2 jaunt to celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary.” (via Runner’s World)

Remember me?
I apologize for the extremely long hiatus from writing; I had an exceptionally difficult past year in academics. Gaining 20 pounds this year brought me back to you, the lovely and supportive fitspo realm of tumblr.
I currently have a membership to Planet Fitness and a local YMCA (courtesy of my mom’s sick family discount). I have been running a couple nights a week with my trusty headlight and adventure podcasts. Lastly, hiking is my new passion.
I love answering questions, cute dog pictures, and healthy eating recipes! Feel free to send any of these my way!
The man-free sanctuary will offer up a range of typical beauty services such as hair, waxing, facials and manicures and pedicures, while providing unique services like henna and halal nails and eyebrow shaping.
“We want women to be able to come in and feel completely relaxed,” ~ Quhshi said.
Quhshi also noted that while Le’Jemalik was created with Muslims in mind, “women of all faiths, races, and ethnicities” are welcome.
This store is in Brooklyn, please support if you can; this is such a huge need for us muslim women.
Run fast. Live fearless.
SPREAD THE WORD!
Dear lovely tumblr people,
I never ask for anything on social media, so I hope it shows how much this means to me.
My grandparents are the two most caring people in the world. They gave up their life to raise me as their son (my dad) had me when he was 19/ my mom was 18. My grandma quit her job to watch me, which means commuting 40 minutes through rush hour traffic every day while my parents were in college. They have put their life and dreams on hold for their grandchildren, and now I want to do something for them. Please thoughtfully consider helping me out.
$1 is the equivalent to a few postcards (they get like 10 for each grandchild)
$5 is the equivalent to road trip snacks
$10 is the equivalent to a gallon or two of gas
$20 is the equivalent to a meal
$100 is the equivalent of a night stay
In other words, every dollar counts. Thank you so much for your consideration. Please don’t forget to reblog!

This type of run is bound to happen to a runner with chronic pain. I tried to run, and my knee cracked and I was forced to limp back home. Now I'm lying on the ground with ice packs to cover the multiple areas that ache: neck, wrists, ankles, thighs, face, back, etc. Here's to the runners that deal with chronic pain. So, runstreak day 8ish?
