There are a lot of options on what to do, also. You can, uhm.. abort it, you can put it up for adoption, you can keep it. You’ll have to set up an appointment with the school therapist soon too. [sits down next to her, placing a hand on her shoulder] You are going to be okay, Beatrice.

-shakes her head, trying to hold back tears- How is it going to be okay?! I’m s-supposed to be graduating in a year and going back to New York and getting on Broadway! I...I can’t have a baby and do that!

Oh, me too. I’ve been so stressed because I haven’t had nearly enough time to rehearse for everything and I keep messing up the steps in class and I can’t hit the lower notes in my piece properly, and now it’s too late to change it. 

I should never have thought that I would be able to audition for the lead anyway.

Leads are no easy tasks. They’re so freaking tiring. I always feel like I’m just going to faint after a show run.

If auditions don’t happen soon, I’m going to go nuts.

Two pinks lines means that you are pregnant. You can take another test, if you’d like, to make sure.

-waits for a moment before looking at the test- What does two pink lines mean?

[reaches in her cabinet and pulls out two pregnancy tests] Take one. Wait a few minutes for the results, then take the other one and do the same. I’ll be here if you need anything.

-takes them from her and nods- Alright.

-goes into the bathroom and takes the test-

I never really thought I would have to do this for a student, but would you like to try a pregnancy test?
