why would Claudia, whose main grievance with Louis and Lestat is that they have damned her to playing third wheel for eternity, resort to slurs? That isn't the main core of her character or argument and it's disappointing to watch her character be cheapened by lazy writing that's falling back on anti-Black tropes when her story has never been about internalized racism. She shoulda hit them (not just Louis, THEM) in the negligent parenthood (and maybe taken some digs just at Louis for the facsimile of brotherhood that he offered when he wasn't busy with Lestat AND some digs just for Lestat regarding his cruelty and resentment)
Her narrative is so focused on family, loneliness, independence, and the complex interplay between those themes so why, WHY, in those precious few minutes where she can speak in her own voice and tell her own story, did she start whipping out the slurs? Who made the choice that slurs were an integral part of her story in that moment?
Let her have her rage, but also let her tell her story
you can tell maslow's hierarchy of needs was written by a man because somehow "sex" is a physiological need on the same level as [checks notes] "breathing"
"Claws like sharpened bananas shot toward me."
this sentence is
good
bad
ITS EVOCATIVE! LIKE GREAT BIG HUGE BANANAS EXCEPT SHARP!
YOU DO IT ON ONE OF THESE! OBVIOUSLY!!!
a lot of people are very angry with me over this, but I'd just like you to sit down and imagine a banana. maybe a green one so it's extra firm. if you need it to be harder, you can toss it in the freezer.
and that brown end? the hard bit? pencil sharpener. or sharpened with a blade. are you following me? now, attach six of those to a harpy.
yeah. I think you're seeing the vision. you can apologize to me any time you're ready
check in time:
I see the vision
it's still really bad
GOD DAMN IT!
Thinking about that "many-eyed angels with eye spots that deter predators -- so what preys on angels?" post too much now but hmm.
Angels as part of a celestial ecosystem. Evolving over the course of many cosmic ages. Angels being god's first creations, preceding Earth and potentially any other comparable worlds many times over, operating on a scale more similar to stars or geology than plants and animals.
Angels, ergo, also being the chief predator of other angels. Demons just being one branch of a family tree already steeped in its predilection for cannibalism and predatory hierarchies. Angels as old as the darkness lurking in deep space, disguising themselves as stars and black holes and asteroid belts, waiting for their own brethren to venture close enough to be snatched and gobbled up. Smaller, weaker angels evolving the symbol of eyes because only God has those so far, the only being other than their closest kin that's capable of giving the elder angels pause. Not a disguise that holds up to scrutiny, but enough to buy one time to flee. Demons building Hell in the depths of the earth where God's gaze turns away all the brightest and most dangerous predators to protect mankind, mimicking humans not only to prey on them, but to further protect themselves from predators too.
Earth is safe from angels because of God. Nowhere else is.
Which vessel would your soul inhabit?

doing reserach for a project i'm working on, got distracted, and ran across this little turd nugget on the page of a witchy fitness influencer grifter:
Felt like Columbus when everyone told him the world was flat. I knew [My Brand] worked for me, my guides showed me it would work for millions... but everyone else around me at the time thought I was going to fail.
bitch what the hellllll ~ you can't go comparing yourself to Columbus anymore 😭 this is 2026 ma'am we should all know better. maybe you should ask your spirit guides to teach you some goddamn history
(also, side note, no navigation professionals at the time thought the earth was round)
also, not to personally drag someone but who puts reading Sarah J Maas in her professional bio???
alright, i'm not going to do individual reblogs for each finding but hoooly shit there is a lot to unpack on this website. apparently there's a quiz that pairs you with your 'goddess archetype' based off of your subconscious?? noooooo i have to find it and take it
no mental health degree but using depth psychology as a tool for fitness 🙄 boo boo you have a degree in political science and french be for real baby
where is this fucking quiz i am so done navigating this bullshit website but i am ~ le curious ~
oooooh fuck her talking about curing fibro. this complex and opaque diagnosis with little to no understanding behind it? i would be shocked, SHOCKED, i tell you to see concrete proof that her little course has any measurable impact on management in spite of the little testimonials. if you're really that good at alleviating symptoms, you need to get your as in a lab and share that shit for the betterment of mankind. but you're not. and that tells me something.
found it! almost rage quit at the fibro comment let's see if this quiz worth it...
question about being at the gym. i have never in my life lol. and where are the ignore options?? some of these are such petty questions i would like to ignore them please. beacues let me be so real if a friend makes shitty comment about what i eat bingo presto they're not a friend anymore. question about spiritual self improvement doesn't come with an option where you're self-satisfied with your journey 🙄 priming-ass quiz. i got the morrigan with some take-what-resonates drivel and a link to sign up for her $27 mini-course. not worth it at all :\
...pero how much is the regular course?
flagship Warrior Goddess program for $7000?????? i wish i could capitalize numbers becasue wat.
oh haha my bad that was for “mindset only” 🙃 the full program is TEN THOUSAND US AMERICAN DOLLARS including the undefined but also emphasized ✨Limitless Bonus✨ (what does that even mean???)
starting to get for real angry now but all of that to say please don't pay this schiester to tell you you don't have fibro anymore after giving her a new car's worth of money smh. moral of the story: anyone selling witchy shit? put them under a microscope because nine times out of ten they trying to hustle you
anyhow back to actual research, not giving this “intuitive shamanic witch” (blech) anymore of my energy
you know what, actually i'm not done. so here we are, naming and shaming:
this review (and many others) is exactly why i have issues with predatory grifters like the Workout Witch overselling her product

happy gay blade renaissance
Abhinav: you're an older man, Abelard. and i'm a decently competent Rogue Trader. i'd like to take on some of your responsibilities - lighten your work load a little. give you some time to kick up your feet.
Abelard (screaming, ugly crying, throwing up): if you insist, Lord Captain
Abelard in the lower decks: of course they thrown things at me. it's my name signing off on every bad thing that happens to these people
Abhinav: ...so?? ...do they need to be taught how to suffer properly???
Aurora, trying to blow a nuclear reactor and take down a planet: if you join my little cult, you won't have to live out the role of Rogue Trader. you won't have to live a miserable life that ends in a miserable death all in service of nobles so terrified of losing their safety and happiness that they sacrifice yours (and that of the billions of others). you will never truely know the security that the noble class jealously keep for themselves. you don't have to buy into their lies about the 'natural order' that only benefits them and their way of life; there is another way
Abhinav: i'm in this picture and i don't like it
Also Abhinav: ah well, i still can't let you turn Rikad Minoris into a chaos planet so here we go
Pasqal: the leadership on Rykad Minoris is an exemplar in inefficiency. this is why I have chosen to place my trust in the Rogue Trader, as there is no government official that could possibly implement a less serious approach to the eradication of cultists than...
Abhinav: *has a PTSD panic attack and Leeroy Jenkinses into a room full of cultists*
Pasqal: this unit fears it has made an error in calculations
the Dungeon Crawler Carl tarot card I drew for my partner (and got Dinniman's signature on at a book signing!!) apparently the dude was a professional tarot reader before he got into writing books?
an emotionally stable rogue trader putting Abelard through his paces dealing with warp ghosts in a very well adjusted fashion
you know. considering it more it, i think Abhinav would be in denial about this whole lord captain thing. i think that for a solid chunk of the game, he's fixated on this idea that if he can find and deal with Kunrad, he could pass the buck and drop the mantle of RT on someone else's shoulders and go back to killing chaos spawn with his wife
don't know what will knock him out of that, but we are far far away from the point in time where he has the nasty realization that this is his circus, these are his monkeys, and he is somehow locked in the tent with them
Abhinav: tell me what I need to know about the Koronus Expanse
Abelard: we like the taste of boot of the Imperium. pirates are scum. play nice with the other Rogue Traders. don't fuck with the little robot dudes and they won't fuck with you.
Abhinav, taking notes and firmly ignoring the mental door labelled "daddy issues" that's creaking open: i am going to do whatever this man tells me to do
