ā¤ļø - five is absolutely a regressor and itās something that he used to cope with the apocalypse for years before the commission hired him. once he became an assassin, he disregarded his headspace completely because there is no space for children in a job such as that. returning home, however, and being planted into his thirteen year old bodyā forced to confront traumas that heās long since drowned outā reinvigorated that tiny feeling and left him far younger than he ever remembers being.
ā¤ļø - five despises his regression. he hates being so out of control of himself and the vulnerability of being small is dangerous. itās fine in the confines of own his room, where he can hide in a corner and have his breakdown privately, but anywhere else is a death trap. he learned a long time ago that being so small amongst something as vast as the apocalypse is a death sentence and heās never quite gotten over that. every time he regresses, itās always impure and it leaves him as a sobbing child, scared and alone. he understands its function in keeping him sane so he never pushes it down, but that doesnāt make him hate it any less.
ā¤ļø - he has never once told someone about his regression on his own accord. every single person who knows found out on their own, usually walking in on him because his siblings have absolutely no concept of privacy or boundaries. dolores found out by proxy of being close to him. the handler found out because she was always watching him, waiting for him to reveal a weakness. and then, one by one, his siblings all stumbled into it, starting with viktor and ending with klaus, who at least had the decency to comment on how awful it must be to have his secret continuously exposed without his permission. five couldnāt bring himself to care anymore.
ā¤ļø - it takes a really long time before he allows anyone to care for him in that state. there are small moments, like luther quietly passing over a snack when itās clear that fiveās fear of starvation (not much food in the end of the world, you have to scavenge where you can) is kicking up again or allison putting on one of claireās favorite cartoons to watch because she āmisses the noiseā, but five otherwise handles things on his ownā just like he always has. itās actually klaus that he lets in first, both because klaus was always the black sheep and therefore has no room to judge (not that he would because heās also the mostā¦ worldly) and because he was fiveās only avenue to talk to benās ghost, who understands what itās like to be stuck in an age and unable to properly grow up. ben ends up being the one that five turns to the most in the beginning, and it gives klaus much needed practice in developing his powerā which he, of course, does happily for his sweet baby bro. viktor would be invited in not much later for similar ābeing an outcastā reasons and, soon enough, the rest of the family too.
ā¤ļø - five spends most of his time crying when heās regressed, letting his brain process decades of trauma all at once, but there are times where heāsā¦ okay. not good, not bad, just okay. in those moments, five usually likes reading books or, more accurately, he likes being read books. never anything too childish, just a mystery novel or some kind of sci-fi fantasy. diego is great to ask because it always embarrassed him that thatās quite fun. viktor and allison actually do the voices and try to appease him, even when itās clear that they never know what to make of him. klaus does the voices too but his comes with a running commentary about how nothing in the story makes sense. and finally, luther, against all odds, is actually the best. heās big and warm, extruding the safety of fiveās former leader and his big brother, and heās far more intellectually well versed in the subjects that five likes reading aboutā like science and space. five would never tell him this but lutherās cuddles and fun facts easily make up for his rather subpar narration.
ā¤ļø - five doesnāt have a concept for rulesā which is true regardless of headspace. itās especially bad when heās regressed, though, because rules and laws stopped applying to him many years ago and little five simply cannot fathom why he has to follow them. he writes and draws on every surface he can find (even outside the academy), he never tells anyone where heās going, and he never bothers with things like money when he can just take what he wants and teleport away. usually he only steals practical thingsā food, mostlyā but every so often, heāll come home with a stuffed animal or some kind of toy that he recognized from the debris of his former life. allison is always the one to track down the store and pay for it, since she has the most money of them all anyway, while diego consistently tries to lecture five on breaking laws, unable to see the irony in that and only backing down when itās apparent that luther agrees with him for once.
ā¤ļø - five gets really bad nightmares, especially if he goes to bed small, which leads him to either never sleep or to sleep in the most obscure places possible. most of the time, the solution is to have him sleep with one of the siblings in their rooms (usually luther or klaus since theyāre the only ones who live at the academy full time), even if it means picking him up from beneath the coffee table and bringing him to bed. but sometimes they canāt be bothered, particularly if he ends up falling asleep on top of the fridge or somewhere equally difficult to get to, and they, instead, hang around until he naturally wakes up and gently coax him back to a proper bed.
ā¤ļø - little five either loves teleporting or despises it, depending on the day. sometimes, it feels a little too similarly to time travel and his regressed brain cannot handle even the possibility of that. other times, he can fully forget that the apocalypse happened at all and will gleefully teleport around the academy, trying to jump scare his siblings or goad them into chasing him. it reminds them all too well of a time before five disappeared, when theyād spar and play tag through the halls. in a way, fiveās regression is actually very healing for them all, giving them a chance to get back some of that lost time.
ā¤ļø - five had a small collection of regression gear that he scavenged in the apocalypse and, much like he went back to find dolores, he spends a considerable amount of time trying to find the exact ones that he had originally. heās very particular because he didnāt have a lot of stuff in the apocalypse and he isnāt used to being around people who can touch and take his things. his siblings try to get him more things and he always rejects it, though he does appreciate the thought.
ā¤ļø - little five loves explaining things to other people. heās a boy genius and does have a genuine interest in science and mathematics. his siblings donāt understand a single thing heās saying half the time, but they think his excited baby babbles are really cute. luther is the only one that can follow him (in certain areas) and it surprises everyone else because no one expected him to be so knowledgeable about astrophysics. every so often, five does find an interest that the rest can properly engage with him in, but itās usually super obscure things like his strangely specific love of transportation (it started with him liking race cars and building model planes with luther as a kid and turned into him studying the bodies of cars, boats, trains, and planes throughout the apocalypse. as someone who can teleport, he thinks regular forms of transportation are fascinating and he used to love traveling the world during the peak of his superhero career).
ā¤ļø - he cries when something breaks or when he canāt use it anymore. like I said, heās very attached to his things (thereās even a bowl of broken watches he collected canonically in his bedroom from his personal tests and training) and he hates having to replace anything. despite his irritation at having to redress in his old uniform, itās so familiar and itās his so he really struggles when he starts outgrowing themā to the point where he raids the academy storage rooms for any that might fit growth spurt and he ends up with benās old uniforms from before he died. fiveās uniforms also make him feel younger so he has trouble throwing them out. he does enjoy sleeping in clothes taken from his siblings, though.
ā¤ļø - he often has flashbacks to the apocalypse and, in the beginning, heād force himself back into mindset of an assassin and refuse to let it shake him. after a while of being safe and at home, however, his body starts moving out of survival mode and it hits him all at once as his brain processes everything thatās happened to him. this means that there are a lot of times where he regresses during a flashback and cries until someone notices and comes to help him. more often than heād like, that person was grace, leaving him to clutch onto her like he would when he was a baby while she coos and rocks him. grace doesnāt understand that he regresses, she merely does as her programming dictates and it dictates she takes care of her babies when theyāre upset.
ā¤ļø - he gets a service dog (mr. pennycrumb) who helps ground him during his moments of panic and is trained to help five with tasks, like reminding him that humans do, in fact, need to eat every so often (five is used to being hungry and he often forgets to handle his basic needs when heās too invested in something else). little five loves playing with his dog and the two of them are inseparable. he likes having mr. pennycrumb sit beside dolores so he can play teacher. more than once, his siblings have walked in on him having a VERY serious lecture about the atomic structure of different elements while being no older than six years old.

After baths he will wrap Toki in a big fluffy towel and let him get dressed (will help if he has to, but Toki usually prefers to dress himself anyway)
I donāt think Toki would particularly like hairdryers (me neither), so I think Skwisgaar would towel dry his hair as best as possible and put it in some simple plaits while it dries
Pickles - Cuddles & Mealtimes:
Honesty I think Pickles would like most parts of taking care of Toki
I also think heās the best at the emotional parts of it lmao
Okay so for cuddles I think heād find it the sweetest when Toki is super duper small and clingy
Despite being taller than him, Toki always manages to curl up against Picklesā chest

And no one can get mad at little Toki so he always gets away with it

Regressed Toki has a much harder time speaking English, so he either doesn't say anything, says it in Norwegian, or says a mix-match of Norwegian and English. He's also the kind of kid to lay his head flat on a table and color at the same time. I think he also swipes his hair from his face with an open palm, and it gets stringy from his sweaty palms. We mumbles and grumbles and babbles to himself. He also sings to himself, but really quietly. I think Toki is definitely a kid you could give some paper and crayons and he'll be good, off in his own world without a care. I love Little Toki.
