Hi! I hope you are doing well. I’m trying to use your gorgeous Page #02: Sumire code, and I’m running into a problem. When I try to save, it tells me I’m trying to add JavaScript or invalid html. I’m not very good with coding so it’s hard for me to tell what I’m doing wrong.
Firstly, this is meant to be used in the “add a page” feature, right? If not, that’s definitely my mistake lol, and could you tell me where this is meant to be used?
If that’s not the issue, then I’m really not sure what is. I’ve combed through the code over and over trying to figure out what I’ve done wrong. All I changed was the title, images, and input the info requested + the main post. The post itself is pretty long and has its own basic html (just some headers and bulleted lists) but to my knowledge I’ve done everything right. I don’t see any missing end tags, and it all looks right in the preview.
If you can’t think of anything that might be a problem, it’s ok! I’m just hoping it’s something that might be a common issue rather than something I did by accident that would require me to look through the entire code yet again 😅
Anyways, whether or not you are able to help me, thank you so much for your time!! Your codes are amazing and I am in awe at your ability to create an entire theme from html.
Hi there Anon!
You are right, it is meant to be added through the "Add a Page" feature, with the custom layout option selected.
But! Since you said you encountered a Javascript error/invalid HTML, I suspect that your issue is neither on the code nor the way you install the page. I suspect that it is due to the recent Tumblr policy that disables Javascript on custom pages, and that your blog is yet to be whitelisted to add Javascript. I suggest giving this post a read and then contacting Tumblr Support. Once your blog is whitelisted, you should be able to use the page, but if not, do send me another ask!
