Bofur doesn’t make a fuss.
Kíli is a strong lad, and wants to be strong more than most. He has to impress his uncle and his brother. His mother too. He’s wounded - and gravely at that.
Bofur is aware something is wrong and, being a friend, desperately wants to help. He shows he cares through that sincere look of concern, but he does little more than that. In this moment, he doesn’t fret, doesn’t fuss. He lets Kíli be strong and saves him from the embarassment of seeming weak in front of the company ….
If we roleplay:
1. Don’t apologize for being late/slow with replies.
2. Take all of the time you need. Days, weeks, months, doesn’t matter. Don’t put yourself under stress because of such pointless things.
3. Your personal life out of character along with your health are the most important. If you drop a thread/conversation/whatever, it’s alright. Just stay safe and take care.
Reblog if you don't just rp romance and smut.

[closed rp] Brave Boys
Following the now-familiar path to Thorin's hall, Beanie double-checked the basket on her hip for the three parcels inside. Sighing in relief when she saw that they were all there, she gave a friendly nod to the couple of dwarves that saw her walking down the path. She knew by now that verbal greetings were looked upon with a small bit of suspicion, as most of these dwarves kept to their own business and expected the others to do the same. She was short enough that most who saw her never looked at her for too long anyway. Smiling as she came up to the hall, she knocked on the heavy oak door, some of her nerves returning. It had only been a day since she'd seen Kili, but yesterday he'd gotten his stitches, and he had been a mess. Not that she blamed him. All things considered, the dwarfling had been incredibly brave. Which after all, was why she was here with her basket. True, she had a soft spot for the little prince, but she thought that he could use a present. She'd stayed up all night to carve him a wolf toy, to remind him of how brave he had been. She'd called him her little wolf to help calm him as the healer, Oin his name was, had stitched him up. And she'd carved a lion for Fili. The golden-haired prince had been brave too, and though he'd tried not to show it, he'd certainly been scared too. It was Fili who answered the door, and she smiled at him, giving him a little bow. "Prince Fili," she smiled, remembering that he had smiled for ten straight minutes the last time she had addressed him as such, "it's nice t' see yeh again. How're ya doin'?" she asked him, and she stepped through as he showed her inside, ever the well-mannered heir. "Studies goin' well? Before yeh know it, yeh'll be the smartest dwarf in all of Ered Luin," she smiled, not wanting him to feel neglected or passed over for his brother. "Listen," she said, kneeling down, "I know yesterday wasn' much fun, but I wanted t' let yeh know how proud of you I am. You were so brave," she said, squeezing his shoulder. "So brave that yeh deserve a present. Here," she said, offering him a parcel wrapped in brown paper. "I've got one for yer brother too, seein' as how he's got the stitches. Any idea where he an' that uncle of yours might be?" she asked, looking around the front room.

Kili let out the large breath he was holding when he felt the soft fingers brush against his shoulder under the water. A few bubbles traveled up to the surface before Kili sat straight, gasping in sharply for a breath. His eyes immediately locked on Beanie’s and he was startled to find her so close to the edge of the tub. In a moment of fright, he jerked to the side, causing a small wave of water to splash out onto the ground and then groaned, running his hands down his dripping face. “Fuck, I’m sorry,” he muttered to her, lowering his hands to cover his crotch, though he was relieved to find the edge of the tub high enough and Beanie crouched low enough that she couldn’t see in. “Just had to—had a bit of a—I’m sorry.” When he hung his head in shame, his wet locks framed his face and he reached up to brush them back.
As the dwarf settled back against the edge of the tub, his eyes flicked over to Beanie and couldn’t help but travel down some. Though the edge of the tub covered up her chest, he remembered enough from before he went under for his mind to send the images back into his memory. Chuckling nervously, he tipped his head back and covered his eyes with one hand, then let out a long groan. “Sure is hot in here, isn’t it?” He asked awkwardly, trying to ease the thick tension that had built up around them. It bothered him greatly how reduced to mumbles and blushes he became around her; one thing he always heard while growing up was about his inability to never shut up. Oh how his mother would drop dead of shock if she could see him now.
Beanie bit her lip, smirking slightly. "I don' mind Kili, but I hope my da never hears ya swearin' in front of the boys. Or Horst either, come to that," she added, smiling at the wet dwarf. "I- I'm awfully sorry if I frightened yeh... before," she said, blushing slightly but not withdrawing her hand from his shoulder. "I didn' meant to. I- when you went under, I just... you... well, yeh scared me," she finished, her cheeks turning a bit pinker. "I... I was worried about ya," Beanie said, a bit sheepishly. She knew she shouldn't be feeling this way about Kili, and she sincerely hoped that he didn't suspect the depth of her feelings. But she couldn't help it. She knew she was falling, and falling hard. And there was no way Kili felt the same way about her... so it really was just her heart she was risking, wasn't it? "I'm really glad yer safe, y'know... an' not drowned or anythin' Kili," she said, still crouched down beside him, and she absentmindedly stroked his wet hair back from his face. "I s'pose this bath hasn't been all that relaxin' for yeh, sorry about that," she said, not noticing that she was running a lock of his dark hair through her fingers. At his comment about the heat, she laughed a bit. "It is a bit warm in here," she said, dropping Kili's hair and brushing her own red locks from her face. "The steam's makin' it curl a bit," she said, smiling as she twisted her braid over her shoulder. "How's the heat helpin' yer muscles?" she asked, then bit her lip. "I mean, Horst said the heat- it would help. I know the pneumonia's a pain, but I really think you're getting over the worst of it," she said, squeezing his shoulder again. "Wherever ya were before I found ya, it- it was hard t' make yer way here, wasn't it? Those brigands yeh fought," she said, "I remember yeh said they shot ya." Beanie glanced at Kili's chest, seeing his scar there before flicking her eyes back up to meet his and smiling warmly. "Horst says my healing hands are good for more than just mixin' teas. My cousin pulled a muscle plowing last spring, I helped him work his shoulders back to normal. I-" she paused, going slightly pink again, "I could maybe help ya work yer shoulders back too. We could lay a towel over the bath," she suggested, "I promise, I won' be lookin' where I shouldn't. An' Horst did say these baths were meant to properly relax ya. I think I've even got some cinnamon oil," she added. "What d'ya say?"

“My bow?” Kili kept his gaze lowered down at the steaming water, watching as the direction the steam rose changed as he moved his fingers back and forth. “Aye, tis mine. Received it as a gift from my uncle when I was a wee lad. Belonged to his brother, who was also an archer before he… When he was still alive.” The dwarf sighed softly and gave half a shrug, not even sure why he was telling her all of this. “My uncle thought it best I learned the weapon; you see, I was very active as a dwarrow. Neither him nor my mother could keep me in one place very long. When it came time for me to learn to defend myself, he felt as though—“ Kili had to pause for a moment, all the excessive talking and the steam had loosened up his congestions and he fell into a short coughing fit that for a moment, had him debating standing up. But doing so would expose himself completely and send him into a tailspin of embarrassment. After hacking up the mouthful he managed to work up, the sick prince bent over the side of the tub and spit it out into a small basin, then settled back in his original spot.
“Sorry,” he muttered as he ran a wet hand through his damp hair, brushing his bangs back out of his face. “My uncle, he felt as though I could not handle close range combat as well as my—“ he froze instantly, not ready to voice the one thing about Erebor he missed the most. “M-my peers, they…” His voice was suddenly weighted down with despair and he had no desire to carry out the conversation anymore. Looking up slowly to see what Beanie was up to, his eyes froze on her body and he swallowed hard. The way the fabric clung to her left damn near nothing to the imagination and Kili found it nearly impossible to tear his gaze away from it. Her checks, freckled with those adorable spots, were flushed and had a thin sheen of sweat on them, and the small curls in her hair looked heavy and rested against her head. “I-I-I.” Kili went wide eyed for a moment before slipping under the top of the water, disappearing in the warmth to try and compose himself.
Beanie's heart ached to hear Kili's voice thick with such sadness. A soul as kind and gentle as his should not know such pain. But as much as she wished to protect him from it, she could not erase the past, however much it had hurt him. Perhaps this past was even part of the reason that he had found his way to the apple trees where she had found him. But before she could offer any words of comfort, his eyes had met hers and gone impossibly wide before he slipped beneath the surface of the water without a second of warning. "Kili?" Her voice rose in pitch as she worried for him and she kept rising a few inches from her seat, then immediately sitting again, only to doubt herself again. Her instincts told her to rush to his aid, fearing that he had slipped, but she did not want to embarrass him further or invade his privacy if it had not been an accident.
After a few moments, she knelt by the side of the tub, her face still only high enough to just see over the edge. Curling her fingers over the edge, she called for him again. "Kili darlin', are yeh alright?" Her teeth worried her lower lip. He still hadn't answered her. She could hold her breath for just about two minutes, thanks to years of swimming in the lake with her childhood friends, but she wasn't sure how long Kili could do it. As the seconds ticked by, she thought hard and fast. Awkward it might be, and she would certainly apologise profusely if she did in fact invade his privacy, but she would rather have Kili embarrassed than drowned. "Please honey," she said softly, knowing how much she cared for the dwarf and knowing that she had no right to feel such things, "please be alright." Gripping the tub with one hand and reaching the other over the side and into the warm water, she felt her fingers brush lightly against Kili's shoulder. She shook it gently, her grip light but insistent as she said, a bit louder, "Kili, can yeh hear me? Please," she said, worry creeping back into her voice, "answer me."
"If you look like this, I'd hate to see the other guy."

Kili reached up and wiped at his bottom lip, wincing when he felt the split in the skin. When he pulled his hand back, there was blood smeared over his knuckle and finger and he frowned. “Don’t worry, he got what he deserved.” The young prince had gone into the markets in hopes of finding Beanie something nice, knowing a girl like her deserved to be courted in a proper manner, when he was bumped into by another dwarf lad. Even though he knew he wasn’t in the wrong, Kili looked up and apologized but barely had enough time to turn his back when the first went flying into his jaw. The fight escalated quickly, but the dwarf misjudged Kili’s ability to fight and was quickly left crumpled on the ground. “But, I managed to find this for you.” With a smile, Kili reached into his pocket and produced a large ruby necklace on a gold chain, holding it out in his palm for the girl to take.
Beanie was halfway to working up a good worry over Kili, after all it was only a week since Horst had declared him fully cured from his pneumonia, but at the sight of the shining jewel, both her hands flew to her mouth and she gasped. "Kili," she breathed, slowly stepping forward towards his outstretched hand, hesitantly reaching her fingers forward before hastily drawing her hand back. "I..." Green eyes met his brown ones, so warm and full of light and hope. Beanie had no idea what in Middle Earth had possessed him to get this necklace. All she knew was that she had ever had anything so fine in all her life, and that she didn't deserve it.
"I... I can't tell yeh what it means t' me," she began, a soft pink dusting her cheeks, "that yeh wanted t' get me somethin' so fine. It's truly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen," she said, and she meant it. But she softly curled her hand around his fingers, closing his hand back over the gift, though it broke her heart to do it. "But I could never give ya somethin' like this back," she tried to explain. Though, from the look in his eyes, she was failing. "Oh Kili," she said, her hand brushing the bangs from his face and gently brushing across his split lip. He had gotten hurt trying to get her a gift, and she was refusing it. "Wait here, I'll be back with some witch hazel for that lip." Less than a minute went by, and soon she was patching him up again. Her breath caught in her chest as she caught the glimmer of gold between his fingers. "Did ya really get this for me?" she asked softly, hardly daring to believe it as she leaned forward, gently dabbing at Kili's lip and swollen cheek.
