holds hexs hand
“Hi.”
His hand is held!

“Do you like banana bread?”
The question was rather out of the blue, sealed container held between metallic pinchers. His head tilted, the tupperware was gently offered.
A slight laugh, an explanation followed shortly after the question. It was a funny story, really.
“I got so lost in making it- forgot I don’t eat.”
“Ba..nana- Huh?”
Raising his hand, Whitty took the Tupperware from his bot friend’s pinchers, awkwardly tapping his fingertips against the bottom of the container before he set it down next to him, saving it most likely. Listening to the bot’s words, Whitty then gave a brief laugh and a nod to follow. “Never tried it. I will soon though.”
“Wasn’t even aware y’knew how to bake. I mean- I dunno how but still. Wow.” He rubbed the back of his neck, settling with his back against the wall. “Thanks, Hex.”
“Banana bread- I heard it’s quite nice, I hope you like it!”
He seemed to brighten at the acceptances of his gift, rather excited for him to get to try something new.
“We could make something together next time, if you want! It’d be a bit easier with your hands honestly!”
Opening and closing the grabbers he was left with for emphasis, Hex grinned.
“You’re welcome!”

“I figured since, well, I already have a fridge and all- I thought putting it to use again would be nice!”
Hex directed his attention towards the kitchen, specifically the refrigerator located within it. A strange thing it was, for a robot to have a fridge.
He followed the clown into it, opening the appliance and gesturing towards its neatly organized contents.
“I got some stuff I thought you’d like- though you could always come to the store with me next time if I missed something!”

It was a cool night, the air is stale with frost and city smog. It almost burned his lungs, if not for the thick layers of sludge covering his lungs from years of smoking.
His chest almost hurt thinking about it.
Garcello didn’t know where he was going, usually spending a lot of hours wandering the city in search for some entertainment. If not that, then merely a comfortable, quiet place.
He always does like quiet places.
However, as he’s walking, he stops to notice someone in the basket court. Usually it wouldn’t be so weird if it was during the day, but dusk was reigning heavily above them.
Ah well, fuck it.
Garcello grasped the metal gate, pulling it open with a little effort and strain from his lungs. “Didn’t expect to see another person here at night, what you up to man?” He spoke, a calm, quiet rasp on the edge of his tone.
He stopped a bit away, leaning against the fence and gazing at the others... bright face...?
H-huh?

Well, he’ll hand it to the bucket of bolts, guys got a great aim and arm. Garcello merely watched the ball roll its way back to the two of them, stopping the orange orb with his boot and watching the other gather it off the ground and safely tucked into his arm.
“Really now? Well, I hope the neighbors don’t give you too much trouble for being out this late man.” Garcello spoke softly, a small frown on his face as he remembers a not so fun time getting yelled at by the old man living in The apartment complex infront of the court.
Stubborn bastard.
Garcello pulls out a small green carton, plucking one of the sticks from inside and placed it in his mouth, lighting it up and puffing out a cloud of soft red. “I’m here for a smoke, not really much to do when you can’t sleep so I figured I’d walk around for a bit and get tired that way, if not I’d at least bet on finding something to do.”
“And I live just down that way, not far but not close either...you don’t mind me smoking do you?”
“The neighbors are quite understanding- most of them, anyway. I don’t really sleep, though I try to keep an appropriate volume level for this hour.”
The cigarette quickly drew the attention of the simulated cyan eyes displayed on his screen- entire expression shifting at the sight. Cigarettes, he held a rather basic understanding of them- and, by proxy, the dependency individuals had on them.
Though, in an effort to maintain politeness, he brushed aside his concerns for the moment. It was not his place, as a stranger, to lecture the man of his habits no matter how destructive they may be.
“I don’t mind, if that is what you need to do.”
Hex wasn’t too fond of lying, though he more than understood its usefulness in avoiding certain unfavorable situations. Potentially upsetting the man before him, for example, was something he’d quite like to avoid if he could help it.
“The name’s Hex, by the way! And you are?”

❝ is not so bad . once you get the hang of it . ❝ the jersey was worn over his thick jacket , orange ball held between gloved hands . though he was athletic , sports weren’t a specialty , per se . in his younger days he spent time playing various sports as a past time ―――― always with the same five or six kids before the famine struck their town . ruv manages to toss the ball &. have it messily make it into the basket , the ball dribbling over into HEX’S robotic hands as he readjusts his hat . ❝ is just getting the ball into the basket , no ? ❝
“Right!”
Mechanical claws grabbing hold of the ball, Hex smiled up at the other. The bot seemed pleased, regardless of the quality of his shots or the method in which he wore his jersey.
Dribbling the ball, he nodded enthusiastically.
“It is, though how you get it into the basket makes all the difference!”
<3 for a short starter

“Oh, hello!”
Another shot, the ball sinks through the net with ease and bounces its way back to the bot. His screen display shifted for a moment, the number idling on for a moment going up in accordance to the basket made. Turning his monitor back towards the man, his face returned grin and all. Tucking the ball under his arm, Hex turned towards the stranger entirely.
“I find nights are the best time to practice, they’re quite peaceful!”
The time of day was hardly a problem to the guy, solar panels having collected more than enough energy during the day to keep him going throughout the night. Still, he was keenly aware that was not the case for humans— the rasp in the man’s voice mistaken for exhaustion.
“Though, I do wonder what you’re doing here! I don’t think I’ve seen you before, do you live nearby?”
“Hey, watch where you’re going.”
“My apologies, I’m usually more coordinated than this!”
Hex relied a bit too heavily on solar power, leaving cloudy days such as this full of stumbles and sluggish movements. It wasn’t more than an iconvience, one he would correct with a full night’s charge, so the bot never really stepped away from the habit.
Looking up at the stranger, he checked to make sure nothing had been knocked out of his grip by the misstep. When it didn’t appear so, he offered a greeting.
“I don’t think I’ve seen you before, are you new to town?”

the first thing the demon does is give a little wave with his free hand. he can't smile, but the way his eyes are slightly squinted like a happy cat makes it clear that he's trying.
after his lil wave, tricky plops hex into the palm of his hand, just to make sure that he doesn't accidentally drop him or something like that.
" HIIII! "
his voice is loud; booming even. however, it's not enough to be painful. it's almost like he's trying to whisper, but failing.
“Hi!”
It takes a moment to adjust to being sat in someone else’s palm, but Hex quickly finds the view from this new vantage point well worth it.
Looking back up at his new giant friend, the bot made a show of taking in his new appearance.
“Did you get a haircut?”
