Temporary Quality Downgrade

It seems like we're still getting some trouble with unwanted traffic, so we've temporarily lowered the streaming quality until we can put a full stop to it. We'll raise it again when everything works.

Why are you advertising that you are playing at 320 kbps when you are really playing at 256 kbps?

That's something we did while we were being DDoSed and I forgot to change it back. I just fixed that, thanks for the heads up!

I'm not sure whether our new firewall solved it or whether they just got bored, but the attack is over and everything is back online. Enjoy!

Server DDoS, radio temporarily down

For whatever reason, someone decided we're a good target for a DDoS, making our network protection spaz out and the server in general to get overloaded. We're not sure who's behind it but we're working on beefing up the security and when the problem is resolved, the radio will be back online. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Is there anyway you can make a list of songs used on the station? maybe with links to who made them or where to download them or whatever?

On your FAQ page, you claim that people are dissatisfied with the way the skaianet radio is run. Could you clarify what you think some concerns are and how you are seeking to improve on these?

This is one of those questions that's difficult to answer because as well as sounding generally bitchy, there's also an element of breaking trust since people asked me to set up Beat Mesa via PMs. The quick and dirty of it is that everyone had different reasons. As well as just regular members who'd been there for varying amounts of time (some of the people who asked had only been frequenting the chat for a month, others had been there since essentially the very start), a couple of "staff" members also expressed dissatisfaction.

If you're really keen on getting specific reasons, feel free to send another PM, but for the sake of not appearing bitchy, I'll be leaving those off the public blog.
