Liability Contracts - [ Closed Starter for Beatrice ]
U was not pleased by this news. Kill or be killed? Not an issue. That, he could deal with, but the idea of being bound to one of these fools, these weaklings, was a great irritation. The idea that he, U. Upsilon, would be gravely injured upon the death of one of these strangers was one that made his blood boil with rage.
But he was a businessman, and so he retained his composure. He didn’t get to where he was now by freaking out, no, he was a man who excelled in maintaining his composure. What was to be done, of course, was to find the person that corresponded to his collar and make sure that they were kept safe.
Relaxing on one of the park benches, the suited man observed every passing individual carefully, waiting for one with a light that matched his own.
Still reeling from everything that had happened Beatrice had avoided returning to the plaza. She just wondered around the rest of the park, torn between her desire to interact with people and her fear of what they’d be like. Maybe that was a normal fear, except “what they’d be like” included worrying they might be a potential murderer, Beatrice assumed that wasn’t normal.
Beatrice had checked her reflection somewhere and saw the light on her collar was pink. Pink was a nice colour but the colour didn’t really make much difference to this situation, except for who it was matched too, that was a bit of a difference.
Wandering around the park Beatrice spotted another of the parks…occupants? Prisoners? Visitors? Something like that, sitting on a bench. He was dressed super formally, a pretty cutting contrast to Beatrice’s tattered clothes. She was unsure if this person would even be interested in talking to her when she noticed his collar had a pink light on it too. So that was something to talk about. She nervously shuffled closer to this new person. “Um, hello, I’m Beatrice Summer and…” Beatrice struggled to think of what to say next, something about the collars made sense. “You’re pink too.”
