Pairing: Alpha!Azula x Omega!Fem!Reader (Wife / Queen)
Setting: Eight years after the Fire Nation's total victory. Azula is now the Fire Lord. The entire world is under the Fire Nation's rule. You, a former member of the Avatar's group, are her official wife.
โ Summary: Now, as adults, with Azula ruling the world, the desire to start a family arises.
Azula was now the Fire Lord, crowned after Aang's death. The throne belonged to her by right of blood and conquest. And youโฆ you were no longer just her prisoner. You were her wife. Her Omega. Her Queen.
The bond that united you was public and official. What had begun as a morbid obsession, brutal possession, and nights of tears and forced pleasure had transformedโover timeโinto something much deeper and more complex. Azula had marked you as hers in every way imaginable. And you, though still bearing the scars of war, had learned to love the woman who had both broken you and rebuilt you.
That afternoon, you were strolling together through the outer gardens of the upper palace, near the noble village surrounding the capital. Azula rarely allowed such โinformalโ outings, but she had noticed you were more restless, quieter lately, and she wanted to indulge you.
Soon, your eyes fell upon a group of children playing near a fountain. A little girl, no more than four years old, ran with a harmless blue flame in the palm of her hand, laughing as her mother watched her with pride. Another baby slept peacefully in her fatherโs arms, wrapped in red and gold fabrics.
You stopped. Your gaze softened in a way Azula knew all too well. Your scent changed subtlyโsweet, warm, yearningโthat Omega scent that always betrayed you.
"They'reโฆ so small," you murmured, almost to yourself. "Look at that little girl. She's probably as mischievous as you once were." You scoffed, watching the kid use her skills to scare away some children.
Azula remained silent beside you, watching you intently. She said nothing then, but she etched everything into her mind.
That same night, in the royal chambers, the atmosphere was different.
Candles lit the room. And your wife was leaning against the headboard, still in her red and gold ruler's robes, while you brushed your hair in front of the mirror. You could feel her gaze fixed on the back of your neck, on the bite mark thereโher mark.
"Come here," she ordered gently.
You approached and sat on the edge of the bed. Azula took your wrist and pulled you between her legs, your back against her chest. Her arms encircled you with that characteristic possessiveness, but today, there was something more. Her fingers traced slow circles over your belly.
"I saw you today," she whispered against your ear, her voice low and husky. "You were looking at those pups with a mother's eyes. Even your scent changed; you wanted one, didn't you?"
There was no point in lying to her. It had never done you any good.
"Yesโฆ" you admitted softly. "I've been thinking about it for months. I know you're a ruler now, and that an heir would strengthen your reign, butโฆ it's not just for that reason, Azula. I want to have a child with you. I want to see a part of us grow. I wantโฆ to be a mother. With you."
Azula remained silent for a long time. Her nose buried itself in your neck, inhaling your scent deeply as if she needed to calm herself. She sensed your longing, which soon spread to her as well.
"I am an Alpha," she said finally. "I can give you a child. Several, if you wish. My bloodline is strong. Butโฆ"
Her voice cracked slightly. Only someone who knew her so well could witness something like this. Just like you.
โWhat if I happen to be like my mother?โ she confessed in a whisper that almost seemed to hurt her. โUrsa always preferred Zuko. She looked at me like I wasโฆ defective. Cold. Too cruel. What if I do the same? What if I look at our child and only see a tool for the throne? Or worseโฆ what if I canโt love them the way a mother is supposed to?โ
You felt her body tense behind you. Azula, the woman who had conquered kingdoms, was afraid of something she couldnโt control with fire or strategy.
You turned in her arms to face her. Cupping her face in your hands, just to see those golden eyes that had once terrified you and that you now loved madly.
โBut youโre not your mother,โ you said firmly. โIโve seen you change. Iโve seen how you look at me when you think Iโm asleep, how you soften your voice when weโre alone, and how you protect me even from your own temper."
You stroked her cheeks with your thumbs.
"You're tough, you're possessive, and even cruel when necessaryโฆ but you're also capable of love. You've shown me that every day since you accepted that you didn't just want me as a trophy. Our son or daughter will have a mother who will protect them with lightning bolts if needed. A mother who won't allow anyone to humiliate them, and I'll be there to remind you, when you forget, that you can be gentle. Because you already are with me."
Azula closed her eyes and rested her forehead against yours. Her strong scent enveloped you completely.
"I want a daughter," she finally admitted, almost embarrassed. "A girl with your strength and my spark. I want to see her grow up by your side... and for her to never doubt that she's wanted."
You smiled, the moment became emotional, and it was a delight for you to see Azula opening up to you like this. You took her hands in yours.
"So... are we deciding?"
Instead of a conventional answer, Azula kissed you. It wasn't the wild, dominant kiss she usually gave you. It was slow, deep, almost reverent.
"Not tonight," she murmured against your lips. "I want you to be absolutely sure. But yes... I want to give you an heir, I want us to have a family."
Her hands moved down to your belly again, possessive.
"And when the time comesโฆ I'm going to enjoy you immensely while I fill you," she added with that arrogant smile you loved so much, though her eyes remained vulnerable. "Until there's no doubt who you belong to."
You laughed softly and kissed her again.
"I think you decided that from the very first moment."
"That you're mine? you always will be," she promised, holding you tightly. "You, meโฆ and the little princess we're going to bring into the world."
For the first time in a long time, the future wasn't just about reign and power.
It was also about hope.
