     AUSTIN SCOFFED. “obviously not. for a slytherin lestrange, i am quite surprised ye don’t know how to subtly threaten or even blackmail the media,” he sighed.

   beckett’s eyes narrowed at the former ravenclaw before him. “oh right - because all slytherin’s must resort to threats or blackmail to get things done - that’s not very ravenclaw of you to assume that all us slytherins are alike, austin.” he huffed, rolling his eyes. “and PLEASE - if i wanted to accomplish things via blackmail and threats it would already be solved. i don’t wish to blackmail - it’s not worth my time or effort, at least not currently.”

     elauria pressed a finger into the spine of the book she’d been flipping through while waiting for her brother, letting it close as dark eyes lifted to meet beckett’s. while she wasn’t quite as down on their father as he tended to be, she was curious to hear what they’d discussed. “hello to you too, brother.” was the smart remark that greeted him as she straightened up. “are you going to tell me, or shall i start guessing?”

    “well,” he started, fumbling with a cigarette before lighting it - taking a drag, only wishing to forget the encounter he shared with his father “as much as i love a good guessing game - i think i should probably just tell you.” he takes out his wand in preparation of a disillusionment spell, “but first -” he quietly casts the spell on both of them, leaving them hidden within the pub. “most of it was just boring stuff about our vault - but...he had other concerning things to say.” beckett immediately wished he consumed alcohol, for what he was about to tell his sister made him sick to his stomach and he wanted to forget it - but he had to tell someone. “father and bellatrix - slimy wench - are insisting that voldemort is...coming back. that somehow he didn’t die and is laying in the shadows, regaining his strength, to strike again.”

monty simply shrugged. if beck’s only ask of him was to make sure he didn’t sleep with a hufflepuff, he figured it wouldn’t be difficult to OBLIGE.  “personally i’d be more worried ‘bout going home with a gryffindor.” he replied with a shudder. it was a hypocritical statement given he’d done so himself too many times to count, but he often found that they were more  _T R O U B L E  _than they were worth. too much drama and certainly not worth the time spent. though in all fairness, most people weren’t; not for him, anyway. “…but alright, you’ve got yourself a deal.”

“gryffindors are notoriously good in bed, mate.” he admitted, not truly bothered by the fact that he’s slept with a few gryffindor, though he would never want to been seen in public with one. cocky buggars. “perfect, now - you can’t apparate out of the castle - but i do happen to have in my possession - a few vanishing cabinets from the war. i’ll have the opposite end of one delivered to you - sound decent?”

        HER EYES ROLL AT the ways he slides away from her. it’s not like she was actually trying to do anything. in all honesty, she only came to have a smoke. loretta really isn’t a type of person who’d go around creating friendships. it had to do something with the fact she rarely believed anyone. ‘ – first of all. ‘ she mocks him before she takes another smoke of her cigarette. ‘ i’m not pretending to be friends. i just came here to smoke. plus, i have difficulties with making friends. i’m kinda really bad at pulling that move. ‘ she chuckles shortly, an evil thought coming to her head. she was more of a mystery than she actually seemed. ‘ how’d you know i smoke? as you said we’re not friends. ‘ brunette says with a smirk as she inhales the smoke from the killing cigarette. 

            ‘ oh – i looooove festivals as much as you do. ‘ 

      as the girl continued to speak, beck had to resist the overwhelming urge to tune her incessant whining out - but he needed to at least be somewhat civil. apparently his humanity hating antics had made it to the front page of the society pages, and if he wanted to keep living comfortably, he had to make an effort to appear VAGUELY friendly. “well that makes two of us.” he admitted, in reference to the making friends. “but - i really don’t care to make anymore than i have.” beckett shrugged, rolling his eyes. “someone needs to learn better listening skills, perhaps that’s why you’re so bad at making friends - i said i DIDN’T know that you smoked.” he raised an eyebrow, taking another drag off of his cigarette. “fascinating, truly.”

     to say that ansem was annoyed would have been an understatement. he hadn’t wanted to talk to the slimy git in the first place, let alone to near get his head bit off when he was in his immediate vicinity. it seemed like every conversation ansem had with beckett left him and more and more annoyed with his former housemate. it was a miracle they hadn’t done each other in – or at least that’s how he saw it!  “beckett. such a DELIGHT, as always.” he only barely managed to resist the urge to roll his eyes, a pained smile stretched across his features as he jerked his head back towards one of the tents he’d just come from. “someone was looking for you. didn’t catch her name.”

     “pleasure.” he replied, the former slytherin NOT resisting the urge to roll his eyes. “bloody hell - why does everyone and their mum need something today.” the words left his mouth in a jumble as he let the cigarette hang out of his mouth, rubbing his face with two hands. “did she mention at all what she needed or did you just come over here to parlay useless information?” while the tone in his voice may have implied that he didn’t like ansem - he truly didn’t mind the lad. most of the time, beck’s voice just sounded like he didn’t like anyone whom he was speaking to. if anything, there was at least a whole list of people that beck disliked more than ansem - and that was saying something.

         THE BRUNETTES BROW ARCHES as she waits for the male to do whatever he is supposed to do. she doesn’t tend to be noisy, actually. this is the most peaceful part of the festival & she sure as hell would just like to get some silence. she didn’t even expect to find him here until she saw him sitting on the stairs. 

             ‘ jesus fuck beck – i only came here to smoke. ‘

she sits down next to him & soon after, she repeats everything he just did with a cigarette. after a big cloud of smoke is released from her lips, she glances at the male. 

            ‘ you’re having a lot of fun, huh? ‘

there’s obvious sarcasm in her voice as the corners of her lips turn into a slight smirk. 

   “okay first of all lola, -” beck starts, sliding away from her as she sits down next to him. “don’t do this... THING where you pretend like you and i are friends.” beck would rather be caught making out with a hufflepuff than sitting with some gryffindor sharing a smoke break. “we’re not friends. in fact, i was happy to make it through all my years at hogwarts without making a single friend in gryffindor, it was easy though - right prats you all are.” he continues to smoke, letting the nicotine soothe his shot nerves. “oh, buckets of fun - really. i truly love things that bring people together. all this laughin’ and shit - makes me feel all warm in my cold little heart.” 

he pauses, looking over at the girl beside him. “though - i will say this, i didn’t know you smoked. you do know that it’ll k i l l ya, right?”

  “really?” how DISAPPOINTING.” tiffany blinked. “you look like someone who would like games.” her bland expression transformed itself into a serpentine smirk. it really was a wonder that she hadn’t been sorted into slytherin. she would’ve looked brilliant in green, but then again, she looked fit in all colors of the rainbow. “you should really relax on the ‘tude. didn’t anyone tell you that there’s children around?” jokes, again. the auror trainee crossed her arms, her eyebrows raised.

     becks face was deadpan as he continued to stare at the girl before him, no hint of emotion or expression upon his features. “oh great, what are you my bloody shrink?” he spat, taking a long drag on his cigarette. “you know, you’re so funny, really.” though his tone was obvious that he was lying. “i think my ‘’tude’ is fine, considering i’m not tripping the children or scaring them shitless with wandless magic.”

     SENSITIVITY WASN’T part of austin’s vocabulary. he was an honest one ( for the most part ) and he told things as is. not to mention, there are times when his curiosity simply gets the best of him. “people do love makin’ a big deal of other people’s… misfortunes or tragedies,” he stated. austin felt a surge of pity towards the other, but he didn’t say anything. “ye could always threaten them if they don’t leave ye alone.”

    BECK RUBBED his hands over his eyes, feeling a migraine setting in from this conversation. he rarely, if ever, discussed familial matters with his best friends, let alone acquaintances. “oh, i do threaten them - you don’t have to worry about that, i’ve threatened to kedavra a few of them and that didn’t quite go over well in the society pages.”

“don’t -” beck cut off the person approaching him who was looking like they were going to speak. “just - don’t.” he huffed, his fingers fumbling around in his pocket until he found his pack of cigarettes. he pulled one out and lit in all in a fluid motion before turning back to the person before him. the second the nicotine hit his body, he felt relief. “alright, now i’m ready to listen to whatever bloody thing you want to drone on about in relation to this...festival...but m’not playing any games so don’t fuckin’ ask.”
