It’s me Sarah! I just wanted to thank you. Since you’ve so kindly shared so much of your life with us, I thought I’d share some of mine with you. I’m 16 years old and I live in Ireland 🇮🇪 I love sunsets, walks, strawberry cheesecake ice cream, hugs, Art, nature, poetry (especially why she disappeared) dogs (the superior pet sorry Mer and Olivia hehe), positivity, travelling and your entire discography. I consider myself a feminist and believe in equal rights for everyone regardless of their race, gender, wealth, nationality, sexuality, disabilities or anything else. I don’t have the greatest recollection of my early years but I do remember hearing “Love Story” for the first time! Flashback to mid 2011 (8 year old me was thriving, thank you for asking) I was sitting in my car unaware that my whole life was about to change.. (okay well, that may have been a bit dramatic but Love Story was the song that sparked my love for you!) One verse in and I had already fallen in love with your voice. I was captivated by the story telling approach in your songwriting of Romeo and Juliet in the song. As the years went by I learned to appreciate your lyrics more and more. I Remeber when Trouble was released I set it as my ringtone and thought I was the coolest 😎 When the 1989 album was released I became a hardcore fan. I made my Instagram fan account. It was one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made. Thanks to you I’ve made the best friends anyone could every ask for! We chat everyday and have gotten so close! The swiftie fandom is genuinely so kind and supportive. I look forward to meeting so many of them next tour. I’d always loved you but I’d grown up with your music and really felt a strong connection to you in the 1989 era. I’d watch your interviews, speeches, shows and music videos on YouTube all day long. I specifically remember when I was twelve watching the Style, Out of The Woods, Bad Blood, Shake it Off and Wildest Dreams music videos every day after school while finishing my homework. The following Christmas I was surprised with tickets to see you on the 1989 tour. I was over the moon ecstatic I couldn’t believe I was getting to see you singing live!! I started having a tough time in school and counting down until my tour date was my motivation to keep going. Kids could be nasty with their words. I listened to Shake it off and Mean on my iPod to drown out the cruel words. On the day of my show I was so unbelievably excited. I remember declaring it (in my head) “the best day of my life”. I remember the connection I felt when I saw you out on that stage. The atmosphere was inimitable I could feel the rush of energy and happiness and the feelings of pure joy. No one else can put on a show like you Taylor. The reputation era is (still clinging onto it haha) the most special era to me. I really came out of my shell and have grown so much as a person. When you disappeared in 2016 I was going through one of the toughest times in my life. (2016 did not treat either of us well :/) rumours were spread about me and to this day is still do not know (and do not want to know) what was said. I lost my entire friend group in day. I was given no explanation. If I approached them, they Would run the other way and start laughing. I went through some really low times because of it. People weren’t always there for me, but your music was. I’d pull down my blinds, sit on my bed and put my earphones in. You were all the comfort I needed. When I saw that the same thing was happening to you (but at a much greater magnitude) it made my heart sink. When you overcame it and reclaimed your narrative by using the snakes you inspired me.
