like its gonna sound harsh (i promise i like az) but az gets to die and move on but floette still has to live for thousands more years? still has to carry the burden of what he did? she doesnt deserve that. she deserves to rest too.

This has been my favorite gijinka so far! I love when Floette is depicted as old and powerful.

I decided to turn Floette's umbrella handle into the key of the ultimate weapon, as though she's been entrusted with its safekeeping.

Average vs Ancient floette

In my head, floettes age like withering flowers. Colors fade, petal folds deepen, their sepals that once hugged their bodies lift away. Their pollen starts to condense from a powder like substance into a dry crumble, making their antennae appear less smooth. But the biggest change of all is that they stop molting every spring/winter to replenish their outer layer. Instead switching to exfoliation peeling to shed only extreme damage. This results in a fragile outer layer that curls in on itself and old rips and tears remaining visible for longer.

Most floette do not evolve into Florges since shiny stones aren't so readily accessible to the average creature. (It's my headcanon that there were no florges in Eternal Floette's time, until the discovery or introduction of shiny shones centuries later.)

Just like in domestic plants versus wild ones, Eternal Floette's tail reflects a sturdier leaf that can better endure the elements. Whereas the modern floette has her tail already primed to grow into her next evolution since globalization made evolving more accessible.

It was her wish too...

Floette deserved to find peace.

Perhaps there was a world, where after grievances were laid to rest, she parted ways to spare the children the sight. With no more unfinished business, she felt the call just as when she was born, to transverse into nature to complete her cycle. Now, over 3000 years later, she can finally return what was stolen. Shutting her eyes for the last time, she returns to the flowers at last.
