Bee and Puppycat Unofficial Comic

This blog is where I will be posting my fan-made, unofficial comic continuation of the series "Bee and Puppycat". I love this series so much and am desparate for more, so hopefully by making this almost-fanfic (fan-com?) I will provide either a bit of closure that I personally needed from the series, or a way for this story and these characters to live on. Hi again everyone, and again as always sorry for having nothing for like more than a year now! That whole working full-time gig is actually kinda difficult! But I’ve made it a goal of mine to finish two pages in two months, so here is another progress shot of the outline and a poor attempt at colouring! Also have no idea how to fix the font in the crash so it’s just going to stay like that until I do. Anyways I’m sorry again for not working on this for so long, but I’m happy to finally be working on it again and have something that I enjoy doing when I get home from work. Hopefully I’ll get the coloured copy up soon as well! Thanks everyone for all your support <3

Hi everyone!! Good news - I have finally finished my Masters! :D Which means I will actually have free time! I have already started on the next page of the comic, and am trying out some new techniques and things to make it look a bit...nicer. I’ve been reading the B&PC comics and seeing how other artists draw, and its really shown me that I can find my own style as well. This doesn’t need to be exactly like it would be in an episode. I guess it gives me a bit more leeway and means I won’t be so hard on myself. I think I have had a bit of a break from the comic for more reasons than just uni, and rather, I guess I just want it to be perfect. Doing that last page really took it out of me! But at the same time, I learnt a lot of things by trial and error, and was able to do some things I never thought I could! So I’m sure with time, I’ll get better at all this comic business. But until then, thank you all for all your support, and bear with me! Hopefully the next page gets done soon, but as usual I’ll show you guys some progress shots too. Thanks again, and stay tuned!

Also sorry I didn’t redo the water in the last frame - I wasn’t sure if I could replicate it as well. Anyway any feedback or recommendations is always very much appreciated! I’ll start working on the next page now - hopefully it won’t take as long and I can use all I’ve learnt about drawing to make it look a whole lot better!

my evolution of water drawing! actually getting the hang of this!!

finally uni is over however i’ve just started a work placement! so definitely not as much down time as i wanted this holidays, but i’m still going! doing a little bit at a time. i’m also hating on the outlines tho so i might go back and re-do the outlines when i’m done with the colours. thanks everyone for hanging in there!! and thanks to everyone who is following me and waiting for more, promise i’m getting there!! <3

Just wanted to show you guys that YES I AM STILL WORKING ON IT but omg life is so hard and keeps getting in the way! Also look at that water in the second frame!! So proud of myself for figuring out how to make it look like that. If anyone has any recommendations for how I’m drawing or anything that I should change pls let me know!

Finally finished outlining second page! Colour copy to be coming up soon (also sorry for the change in thickness of lines I forgot what thickness I had started with, so the end is a little thinner!

SORRY ITS TAKING ME FOREVER. I meant to do some more this weekend but I just got busy with family stuff! And I’m doing my masters at the moment so I try to do uni work before this but my uni work ends up taking forever. I’ll make a promise to myself to have the second page done by like, mid next week. Promise! I have a test tomorrow too and I am struggling studying for it but ugh whatever! Okay so its coming!

I’ve started drawing the second page! Here is a sneaky preview. Just outlining at the moment then I’ll go back over and colour so hopefully shouldn’t take too long this time! I’ve planned out another two pages so I’ve still got some things up my sleeve. Might try working on the rest of the story too in the meantime. 

EDIT: Just realised I’ve been drawing the “I”’s without the dashes. WILL FIX!

ITS DONE! The first page of my unofficial Bee and Puppycat comic is finished :D The colouring in actually didn’t take too long, and I know there are a few uneven bits and pieces! Its definitely a working progress but I hope my drawing ability improves as time goes on :) Enjoy!

I’m colouring the first page as we speak! I don’t think I will actually shade it just yet - I’m quite liking the more simplistic colour scheme and style, reminds me more of a classic comic book style. What do you guys think though, “to shade or not to shade?” I’ll upload the plain colouring and see what people think once it’s done :)

Wow I only just realised I had so many followers!! Thanks everyone for showing such an interest in this! I’m so sorry I haven’t finished the coloured first page yet - I’ve been really busy on my university placement so just simply haven’t had the time. I finish up this week though so hopefully on the weekend and next week I’ll have some down time and do some colouring in at that time :) Thanks again!

Finally outlined the whole first page! Its very small quality just cause I haven’t saved it as a jpg yet. Still need to colour in! Debating doing shading or just colouring it in cause effort. Hopefully colouring doesn’t take as long!

A snippet of what I have planned for the first page. As you can see I’m going over my hand-drawn lines in Clip Studio Paint. Then I’ll colour and hopefully it will look okay! Its fairly simple atm but I’m sure as I get a bit better at using the tablet and program it will improve. I have planned the next four pages so just have to draw up and colour.
