#tag for later#i'm still old school and use YT#and i've noticed in the past year or two in comments of modern pop artists covering an older song#on occasion there will be someone who genuinely seems to have never heard of the tradition of covering a song in homage..#and thinks the modern artist is somehow trying to trick the general public into thinking they wrote the song as an original lmao#i'm not surprised at not having heard of a song...but like...these are not obscure songs :D#this is not a led zeppelin covering black blues thing....we've all heard gotye's somebody that i used to know. it was not that long ago :D#covid really did a number on people in ways we'll be uncovering for years I think....
