And over that line, I see green fields and lovely flowers and beautiful white women with their arms stretched out to me over that line. But I can’t seem to get there no how. I can’t seem to get over that line.’ That was Harriet Tubman in the 1800s. And let me tell you something: The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there. Celebrating Cultural Diversity through Food (Sept Special) | Bak Kut Teh

A majority of the Malaysian Chinese population are Hokkiens & Cantonese, which explains why the Malaysian Chinese cuisine are mainly Hokkien and Cantonese-based dishes. From the early 16th to 19th century, the Chinese brought with them their cultures, languages and skills as well as their cuisine with its various provincial styles into Malaysia. Some have even developed their own dishes from their Chinese heritage but with a Malaysian twist to it – Bak Kut Teh is one of them!
