I will NEVER understand why Americans have so much disrespect for Asians. Every time a kpop group comes over here and does something, it never fails that they get used for views. Now, you might think America worships BTS. But that’s not true. While they do put them on a pedestal, there’s no genuine love or respect for them (aside from some.) Take a look at when they do interviews, there’s never a question about anything with meaning. Ellen said (the second time they appeared on her show) “And now I’m going to have to get you to reintroduce yourselves. Because you changed your hair! Alright, whos who?” Nct 127 came here to be at the AMAs, and didn’t even get shown during the program, not even a glimpse. Several interviews got their name wrong, as well as use the same stupid questions they used with BTS. Jimmy Kimmel has them on his show, and admitted he didn’t even know who they were… And this was the night they were performing. He said he didn’t even know them when he met them, as they were literally getting ready to record for his show. Monsta X made history as the first kpop group to perform at iheartradio jingle ball. Yet their performance wasn’t shown, and they got zero screen time. During an interview, an interviewer made them feel like crap (you can see it in their face) whenever the interviewer brought up that BTS was nominated for a Grammy. During a iheartradio interview with a girl group, they asked them about bts. This happens with every group that’s not bts. And I get that they did break through with the American market and such, but there’s no need to ask each kpop group about them. It’s very obvious that these people don’t do their research when it comes to how insanely competitive the kpop world is. Every kpop group is different in some way, yet each group (that’s not bts) gets compared to bts. I love bts, and this is none of their fault. Because I’m very aware of how they feel during pointless American interviews, and how they get treated. But if you’re going to have a group on your show, or anything, please do some research about who they are. Please take time to make question, or even ask us fans. These groups get used just for views, and fake bandwagon fans name drop a group just to get the support of us fans. We are not allowed to defend ourselves, or these groups, or we will get called several things. Such as: “crazy” “obsessed” “pathetic” “kflop fans” “insane” “stupid” etc. We as fans get picked on too, and made fun of. Because we have a genuine love and respect for these groups, but we get branded as any name above.
