my mom and I have a similar thing. we have a special way of saying I love you to each other and we text each other that for reassurance. If we don’t reply or send a normal “I love you too” or a “wuvie dubie doobie you!” there’s something wrong.  This is in case you’re held hostage and you are threatened not to say anything suspicious, or someone stole your phone and is typing for you.
