The other thing with fandom ignoring IDW1 Jazz characterization is that... okay I know this is partially bc Optimus Prime is relatively unpopular and stock fanon Jazz (like many other characters) already had a lot of momentum (tho, a lot of the ways fanon!Jazz has been portrayed in J/P and other areas of the fandom has been pretty racist on its own). But still, the franchise's most notable black-coded character has an arc about wanting to put all the violence from the war aside by trying to appeal to people's better nature and suffering for it because media will only portray him as a threat while his friend drops him bc he's bad PR, so it's a pretty bad look for the fandom to ignore his commitment to peace and honesty and love to instead portray him as a guy who loves to solve problems with violence and underhanded methods, isn't it?
